James River Drip was a nice restaurant to eat at while we were spending the day in Buchanan. The service was nice and the food was pretty good. The people working there were friendly and checked on us frequently and talked to us about the area. They also seemed like they knew some of their customers personally. I enjoyed the small-town feel and will return the next time I come to Buchanan.

Fantastic little stop for food!! Food was excellent. We got burgers, fries, onion rings, a root beer float, tea (both sweet and unsweetened), and some bowls of ice cream. Everything was delicious and the owners were friendly! We plan to bring the family next time. The place was clean and well stocked. It's across the street from a hanging rope bridge that was fun to walk across and take pictures.

If you are in the area you HAVE to stop here to eat or get ice cream. We got their chicken tender, fries, mozzarella sticks, grilled cheeses, ice cream and they were AMAZING! The ice cream is so fresh and good! But the best part was the nice and friendly staff. Fast service. I rarely leave reviews but I had to leave a nice review for this place. You won't regret going! Also they have a super clean bathroom!

They treated me like a celebrity. The chicken club sandwich is awesome. I love the local art on the wall. The TV is unnecessary. They just need a signature sauce or just fry sauce or YumYum. I was in town on business and had time to visit the swinging bridge. I hope to go back. They are open Mondays:) when others are not. Also loved the hot chocolate.Parking: I Park by the river and walk across the street.Kid-friendliness: They cleaned very well after messy kids got ice cream.

Stopped here on our way home today and it was fantastic!! Great food made to order. Superb customer service!! They were super busy so there was a little wait for food, but well worth it!! Inside is a little small but don't let that stear you away. We also took the opportunity to visit the swinging bridge right on the corner across from the restaurant. We will definitely visit again when ever we are in that area!!

Cozy spot where we stopped for a great lunch. Nicest staff, good coffee, good Homestead ice cream, lovely salad, sandwiches, hot dog - great stop for our family!Kid-friendliness: Kid's menu and kid ice cream cones available. Very friendly staff to my kids.

Awesome Strawberry Milkshake. Friendly staff. You definitely need to walk across the swinging bridge that is 70 yards away over the James River if you visit on a beautiful day like I did. It is worth stopping off of I 81 and drive through this picturesque town on your journey.

We stopped in for a burger tonight. Best little cheeseburger sliders. Great service, very friendly staff, good prices and the cleanest little Cafe I've ever been in. Well worth a drive to Buchanan. Can't wait to go back.Parking: Plenty of street parking.

This place is absolutely fantastic. We came in from Wisconsin and stayed at a local Air B&B. Came and ordered food and ice cream with our baby. The food and service was awesome. The staff was so friendly and accommodating with us and our baby. If you're not supporting this local business, you're missing out!!Kid-friendliness: They were so great about our baby and the mess.

What a gem this place is. Family owned and run (so friendly and welcoming), immaculately clean and great coffee and breakfast foods made on the spot. We also bought some fresh locally sourced lemonade in a glass bottle to take with us on our road trip, and noticed the milk (ice cream etc.) is also locally sourced. Bonus: right across the street from one of the oldest swinging bridges in the country and a giant iron LOVE sign that's perfect for photo ops. Strongly recommend you stop here if you can, it's only a few minutes off the 81 and worth a stop in every way.
