My family has two adorable, healthy Golden Retrievers from Gap View, Ruta (2 years old) and Luna (10 weeks old)! With both dogs, I saw nothing but the utmost care and love with how Gap View operates its business. Tresa and Jamie were extremely helpful to me, loving of the dogs, and knowledgeable. They made sure I left with any medicine I needed for Luna to hold me over until I could find her a regular Veterinarian. I have even used Gap View’s kennel services when I went on vacation, because Luna was too small to be accepted at most kennels. They took great care of my fur baby while I was away for a week! Tresa sent me updates when I texted her.Gap View has many furry puppies right now looking for a loving home! Please don’t be dissuaded from adopting a dog in need of some love by some of these negative reviews on this business. It is not my experience (with two dogs in two years).

the puppies were adorable but they were very attention deprived and there was poop everywhere… the dogs hair was all matted and they we’re itching all over their bodies. the adult dogs are separated and kept far away from the puppies in a dark office. could be considered a PUPPY MILL

Just scanning reviews, my son is considering a Golden…. My first Golden from Gap View was over 20 years ago and now I currently have 2 from them with ZERO health issues, just awesome dogs! My daughter got a Golden from them little over a year ago and same deal…. Just awesome! Some of these reviews are a bit far fetched…. Kennels dirty, always looked good to me? Yes, they breed many Goldens….. doesn’t make them a puppy mill. We will buy again from Gap View!

This is really an awful place. The dogs are clearly not treated well and is obviously a puppy mill. The conditions are terrible - there are so many dogs in one condensed space, they don’t receive any attention/don’t have toys or anything. I felt like it was one of those ASPCA commercials. They need to stop breeding so many dogs because they don’t sell many, and then the dogs just live their whole life in a cage until they die. Do not support this place. These dogs deserve better.

If I could leave no stars I would I initially visited in the ending of 2022 after speaking with the owner who smelt very strongly of alcohol who cut me short of a visit because he was heading somewhere he’s getting behind the wheel, said he would call someone to come in after I made a appointment to visit there and spoke to him about a specific time. As I entered this place not to mention the poor farm animals that looked diseased I observed my first country puppy mill. After the owner just up and left and left us there with a male who was working hard but barely spoke English the sheriffs came in shortly after from a call reported. They walked up and asked us did we work there as the sheriff said there’s always someone new as their always there the one sheriff said it made him sick to come there but there was only so much they could do. That was it for us we ended up leaving. This yearI was in high hopes it would be ran by someone else. I went to the website and saw all dogs were on sale I set up a appointment hoping to save a puppy when arriving it was even worse than before I ended up choosing 2 puppies the owner once again seemed worse than smelling like alcohol couldn’t make up his mind how much he would sell them for and had one girl looking for ways to set up how to take a payment and told her to just get it sent to her for her work. I immediately seen red flags! I ended up once again leaving and I’ll never return I wish we could have saved those babies but I was so scared of how it was ran. I pray to god a rescue steps up or animal control. I don’t see how they’ve gone this long in business. The worst part is he couldn’t remember the girls name who worked with him but wanted me to send her money for dogs. This screams fraud!

The puppy we got has mange and we weren’t told there were any issues - even when I specifically asked. She’s been with us 5 days and the vet said the rest of the pets and kids in our house have now been exposed. Extremely poor business, would highly recommend you steer clear

Golden's are their passion! Excellent Owner communication, amazing helpful staff, and stunning ranch.I purchased my Golden over two years ago from Gap View. Before I even made my first trip up there to see the facility the owner had multiple phone conversations with me on the adoption process and what owning a Golden was like. He was kind, patient, informative and very helpful. Many people in my family have purchased a fur family member from Gap View so that is why I went there first. I ultimately purchased from the because the owner, Dave as well as multiple people on staff held my hand through the prosses. The Ranch is amazing. I had a blast touring the entire facility. My son was 4 at the time and it was like a field trip for him. Be prepared , this is a working farm. Wear the appropriate clothing and shoes. The dogs are happy, very socialized and love being pet.Two years later: I STILL have an amazing relationship with the owner . Any questions I still have, he calls and answers. Dave knows Goldens and he loves them. This is his life and passion.Take a tour, enjoy the pups and if you are looking for an amazing pet that will be a family member, I would check them out.

Kids loved it, lots of puppies, adult golden retrievers, friendly donkeys and llamas. Beautiful koi pond, great drive. We called and made a reservation but it didn’t seem to matter much. Very friendly staff.

I have visited Gap View several times. After my dog passed away, I wanted to visit Gap View and play with puppies. Not expecting to pick out a puppy, I fell in love with one of the six month old puppies born in November. Sandy is now a part of our family. She is now eight months old and doing great. Her health is perfect and a very sweet personality. Dave Liskey and his staff Teresa and Jessie were wonderful. I recommend this farm for a visit or an addition to your family.

Dogs were so hungry for attention. Older dogs were in cages away from all the "main attractions" with concrete floors, no toys, they were so sad. They were so starved for affection...Some were chewing on river rocks. It was devastating. The llammas were extremely overgrown with thick burrs their fur. It was a beautiful farm but the dogs were just... neglected. BE AWARE if you plan to go into the fenced in fields -which we were told we could do when we asked to go play with them- the young dogs >> will try desperately to get out,<< and if they do, the managers make YOU go catch them. Do you know the dogs' names? No. Do they have collars or leashes? No. Is there any support or assistance? no. Be prepared to be told that if they run two miles away it's your responsibility to "go catch them." (And be told that they have made others do that before.)There is no sign or anything that says this is their policy. The woman we asked what to do said the last people who "let" the dogs out they made chase the dogs down over 5 acres. We finally corraled five dogs back into the area after 45 mins of chaos, only to be covered in scratches, our clothes ripped and muddy all the while the manager/ owner/ whatever she was watching us with her arms crossed on the house porch. We were not negligent in keeping these dogs in the fence. We are not students, we were four responsible adults. Two of the dogs ran up to us, jumped off us and used us as a base to ricochet over the gate. Dont go in the fields unless youre prepared to run for several miles. I cant imagine what would have happened if we'd had our children with us. The puppies were so cute but the rest of the experience made us cry.

As a Professional Dog Trainer with the Military for 20 years, and over 20 years of experience in the Public sector, I've had the opportunity to see the world, and visit many, many, many International and Domestic kennels, Gap View Ranch & Kennels is one of the best kennels I've had the pleasure to visit. On an unannounced visit, the kennels were clean, and when I asked the on-site Vet Tech for a couple of the dogs medical records that we were interested in, she was able to provide those immediately.Despite whatever negative connotations that others might have, I can give full my endorsement of this kennels, as it is like I said in the beginning, it is one of the best kennels I've had the pleasure to visit.

Our two Goldens from Gap View both had to be euthanized when they were only six years old. One with cancer and one with epilepsy. The last time I visited I was horrified at the condition of the dogs. All in small cages on hard concrete. A female dog who had week old puppies was still covered in dried blood and afterbirth matted in her fur. This is a puppy mill and should be shut down. These dogs need to be saved from their breeder.

Horrible place to buy a dog. The place is gross and so are all the puppies. The big older dogs are thrown up in small cages in the back. The dogs are left out during all seasons. They have to lay in their own pee and poop. The puppies are not taken care of well at all. This place need to be shut down immediately.

Staff is very nice, unfortunately for the dogs they are not very well taken care of. I went on a 90+ degree day, they had dogs and puppies outside in gates in the sun, the puppies were very hot, trying to drink their water, but it was too hot for them (almost felt boiling). Some clearly had health issues, walking poorly, barely moving. Older dogs were clearly not taking care of, hair was stuck together and very dry (probably haven't had a bath in years) it breaks my heart to see them discarded when they can't breed anymore. I love dogs (have a rescue beagle) and wanted to get a golden with my girlfriend but places like this should be illegal..... dog are not breeding machines, they should be taken care of and loved.....

I wish I could give them zero stars and I hope everyone reads this review before they decide to buy a puppy from this BUSINESS. We got our first golden from Gap View when I was 4 years old. Of course when we were in the market for another we wanted to return to where we got our first fur baby. My family and I visited in April 2020 on my birthday to play with the pups, we really enjoyed our visit so we added our name to the waitlist. In December 2020 we received a call from the owner that he had a puppy available for us at no cost, because she had a heart condition, she’d been seeing doctors and was on a medication. We didn’t have our puppy for more that 24 hours before having to put her down due to her heart condition. We spent $10k in vet bills, and when we told the owner what happened, we got no response. It was devastating, and my heart still hurts for that baby. It’s now Feb 2021, a friend of mine had also been on the list, they received a call just a few days ago for THE EXACT OFFER we had been dealt just 2 months ago. A sick puppy for no charge. How can you live with yourselves??? How can you pawn off a sick puppy to a loving family knowing that baby is not going to live a long life. How can you continue to breed knowing you are bringing sick puppies into this world. If you do decide to get a puppy from this ranch, take it to the vet immediately, and constantly get check ups.

Buyer beware. They are not communicative on their process at all. I was on the wait list for a year, and had the hardest time getting consistent answers from anyone there. The owner gave me his number finally, but would never answer my calls. Their “manager” inconsistently told me information and would deny telling me it. They also state they video and audio record each encounter in the office, but wouldn’t provide the information when requested. At one point they told me they had lost my contract, but didn’t lose the deposit ironically, and when I told them I had paid everything, they magically found it. They won’t ever tell you the specific number you are on their list.I had referred TWO others to them, who ended up getting puppies from them, but when it came time for me to get mine, they kept avoiding my questions. The owner never returned my calls, and when I would email, they never answered my questions. They don’t value referrals, and to them you are just a customer. One of the old pups had come with me when I made a visit, and they did not care at all. I would have thought that a breeder would have loved to see one of their pups, but this was not the case. When you get your puppy they MAKE YOU sign an agreement saying you won’t write a bad review about them. I’m don’t think businesses should have to make you sign something stating that.I ended up getting my deposit back, but that was 3 weeks after they told me I would. I had to reach back out to them asking about it, and the check and post date of it was 2 weeks after they told me I was getting it back.I never got a pup from them, because they kept giving me the runaround and never answered any of my questions. Had the owner stepped in or answered a call of mine, I think this review would have been very different. But buyer beware. If you put a contract in, be prepared to not know anything about the status of it until you bug them enough. Would HIGHLY recommend a different breeder.

Had a great time playing with the puppies and learning about the breed. The staff were all very knowledgeable and kind. They have a menagerie of animals, and all so sweet! Except the llamas, that interaction we could have done without. 🤣 If you are looking for a fun way to spend a few hours, I definitely recommend a visit.

Gap view has become nothing more than a puppy mill, we have three dogs from there at different time. my neighbor has two, something changed and he has more then tripled the amount of dogs and breeding, he relies on the local students who pay to come in and pet the dogs to socialize them because HE can’t keep up with so many. It broke my heart the last time i was there. I will never buy another dog from him.

I had quite the journey with Gap View. I found them online and drove all the way from North Carolina when my turn for a puppy came up. They were so responsive and communicative, and they even allowed me to facetime instead of doing a visit to select which one I wanted since I was so far away, and roads were snowy. The day after I picked my puppy up, it was found that he had a bad infection in his GI Tract (I must point out that this is NOT Gap View's Fault, just bad timing) and they very graciously offered to help pay for his bills, despite them not having to. Since then, my life has been blessed by the best possible dog I could have EVER asked for. I know that when I decide to get another golden, Gap View is going to be high up my list on places to call first.

A real hands on adventure. You can hold the dogs/puppies . There is an abundance of available k9s of all ages. Supply and demand could put the buyer in a favorable position to deal down from $1950/

A glorified puppy mill. You are charged an "entrance fee" of $5 to even enter the place. They have hundreds of puppies here a year. Some dogs didn't even have water bowls in their outdoor kennels in the middle of summer. If you purchase a puppy from them, there is a clause in their contract that you cannot speak poorly of them. If you're going to buy a golden retriever from a breeder, choose an ethical, responsible breeder who adheres to the GRCA Code of Ethics and who complete health clearances and genetic testing. This place makes me sick.

Everything was clean & orderly. Dogs houses looked new. Hay was fresh & clean. Food and water for all animals being provided. Manager was working hard & is organized. We love our puppy from Gap View & our waiting for our new furbaby to be ready to come home. Very nice people & even spoke w the owner who was very nice, intelligent & not in a hurry to get off the phone..very helpful. Thanks Gap View ❤

The animals here seemed unhealthy. The donkeys had moderate wounds and some seemed fresh. The dogs and puppies also had wounds and looked like they weren’t given enough water. When we visited the puppies a few times, the water bowls seemed empty.

We visited in December analyzing their facilities and dogs. The dogs are mostly kept outside due to the abundance of animals they have. However, their houses were all relatively large and insulated. Overall, we were relatively impressed. Seriously considering a replacement male for the two we lost a year and a half ago. Goldens are the best!

Very negative experience with Gap View, would not recommend it to anyone. We adopted an older Golden who we absolutely adore. Unfortunately, the staff were very unresponsive when we requested her vaccination/ vet information. It was a lot of false promises, we were told we would be given all of her past vet records, including vaccination information the day we arrived. Instead we received a hand written note of listed vaccines she supposedly had taken.... of course no vet would accept this. We must have called/spoken to the people at Gap View 5-10 times over the course of a month before we finally got any information sent to us. We ended up doubling up on vaccinations because it took so long.We were also told when we purchased our dog that she was in very good health etc. Unfortunately, that was also not true. We took her to the vet the first weekday we had her and discovered she has a major obstruction in her nose, which causes her to only breathe through her mouth. I contacted Gap View and they told us they had no knowledge of the obstruction... which seems odd, considering she bleeds from her nose almost constantly and how noticeable her breathing difficulties are. The surgery to find the obstruction and fix her nose will cost us around $2,000.Finally, when we arrived to Gap View we were expecting a clean and friendly place full of Goldens considering the impression from their website. Instead, we came to a very dirty, sad place with dogs stuck in barn stalls and outside in dog huts (it was pouring rain/wintery mix and they were all still outside). The barn was dirty and full of cob webs etc. A lot of the dogs were crying or barking, many of them filthy. Our own dog was covered in dirt and mud.Overall, we had a very negative experience working with Gap View and would not recommend it to anyone.

I cried when I visited this farm! Cute dogs in horrible condition. In this hot weather, in a hot barn without water or with hot water. Mama dogs are in a very bad condition too. They are not taking care of the dogs. They are just using them as a machine to make puppies. This is very sad! 😢

I can't say enough good things about Gap View! All the dogs appeared happy and love the many visitors they receive. You can tell the caretakers really love the dogs. I had many questions about adopting a puppy (my first!) that the staff answered patiently and described the unique characteristics about each of the parent dogs. One of the caretakers even gave me her personal cell phone number to answer any additional questions and to send me pictures of the past litters! I am very excited to adopt a Gap View pup!

Beware!!! Scam and possible puppy mill! No papers and so many lies! We don’t even know her actual birth date! Lots of vet visits due to parasites and we don’t know if vaccinations were given!
