The staff, techs and doctors at this practice are kind, caring, and knowledgeable, but most importantly, very empathetic when asked to deal with stressful situations such as sudden illness or unexpectedly helping a beloved pet pass on. I’ve had 3 veterinary practices in the past that were the same quality of care, and have finally found my 4th (and last, I’ll not move again!) that feel like family.In memory of Maggie, 3/20/10-1/27/24.

Took my 14 year old dog to them this morning thinking I was going to have to put her down. The whole staff was amazing at figuring out the problem and giving alternative treatment with medication, and the vet tech and vet were so good with her. Much better than any other vet I've been to. And the prices were really cheap comparatively. Would definitely recommend

It’s very upsetting that I have to put a star for this review. I am a traveling nurse and just rescued two aussiedoodles. These two pups go everywhere with me and definitely needed a grooming! I had such great intentions when I dropped them off the morning of their appt. Little did I know when I went to go get them when they were finished they looked horrible! The groomer left them so patchy! Did not clean ears or eyes. Still had dirt and eye boogers. Very disappointed with the overall experience and price they made me pay before I could even get my pups in my hands. I went to the store myself to purchase a pair of clippers and get the job done the correct way. License or not. Do not recommend to anyone!! Horrible service! These people are wonderful. They did everything they could do to help my dog Duke, and succeeded without charging an arm and a leg. I'm so thankful for them.

Staff is very caring and offers good advice for your pet. Areas where customers can go is very clean. I haven't been all over the clinic however. They offer a small selection of healthy pet food. I didn't notice any foul smells anywhere. Nearby construction happening for now; so parking is limited.

My little baby rabbits get their nails done there they do a great job on their nails. They also take care of our little Rough Collie. My animals are a big part of my life. Thank You !

Recent spaying of a tiny rescue dog...she bounced back in one day. We had to be careful that she didnt over do her return to good health...but, we managed...thankfully.Nice people at the clinic

If I could rate them beyond a 5 star I would! Amazing vet care was able to get my babygirl in as soon as I called and let them know what was going on! Amazing staff very loving and caring to your pet and you! Will come back to see them if needed❤️

Highly recommend for anything you need! I have been taking our two dogs here for everything - spays, regular checkups, urgent care like ear infections, etc for multiple years. The front desk employees, techs, and vet are always helpful in person and also over the phone. I’ve never had any surprises with costs and they do a great job getting you seen at your appointment time as well as explaining things and follow up care as needed.

I only gave 4 stars, because I could not meet the staff, see the inside of clinic..However, The staff I did speak to were very respectful and friendly. I spoke with vet 9n the phone, and she was very respectful and friendly. She explained everything both time I came there with my dog, and she set us up with a veterinarian eye Dr. My dog has an eye injury..I never felt uncomfortable or never seen my dog stress about going back there. I must say, as a long time farm animal owner, people must realize that sometimes when an animal is sick or injured, other issues will arise, and for my dog, the vet referred me to where he needs to go tomorrow, and I appreciate her for knowing he needed a more specialized situation and possible surgery..I will bring my dogs to this clinic again, and I hope to meet the vet face to face one day to thank her for being there for a out of town and traveling dog family...

Best I have found in an area where good customer service isn’t a common virtue but complaints for good service is common. Yes, no business is perfect but I challenge anyone to find a better Vet around here. Compassionate and comforting. Not to mention that don’t try to push more charges on your baby’s visit.

Animal Medical Clinic of South Boston has been taking care of my dog since he was 8 weeks old and he will be 7 years old this year. I don't care what the problem is they will see me. They have awesome customer service, they are very professional, and they genuinely love my dog. Can't say he feels the same way! Lol! But, yes, I definitely recommend them! Not only that, they board pets when you need to go on vacation or maybe, you just need a break. I love the Animal Medical Clinic of South Boston!! They are totally awesome in ever perspective.

I guess the staff is ok. Friendly. Thorough, I don't know about that. You're not allowed to go inside with your pet, which is unnerving. You can't verify what's actually going on and be a witness to exams or anything. I was very uncomfortable with this and had I known I couldn't enter the building, I would've gone elsewhere. I had a lot of follow up questions and I was lied to. I am positive I won't be bringing my pet back.

Would definitely not recommend this clinic to anyone. My pets were patients there for several years but I no longer take them there nor would I recommend them to anyone else. They want your business when its checkups and unneccessary tests or something that they can make a quick buck but when my pet became I'll after a surgery there, they didn't have time to see him. Ended up at an emergency vet out of town. Just like with our doctors, our pets don't need a vet that won't see him when he's sick.

Very expensive!! I guess it’s hard adjusting to a post Dr.Will world. I just hate to see so many puppies and kittens around peoples houses because they can’t afford to get their animals spayed or neutered. Be prepared to see this situation get worse. Dr. Will did a lot for the SPCA and other animal charities.

I love Animal Clinic of South Boston! The staff is friendly and they take care of my beloved Mischief. He is my first pet and a rescue that my family adores, so naturally I want the best care for him. They even called to check on him after he was treated for an injury. Thank you again Dr. McConahey he is back to his old self!

No complaints about the Vet, she is professional and my pup was well taken care of. We had an appointment on 3 weeks ago after which no communication was made by any form regarding our pups follow up. I called them couple of days later and i was told i have an appointment in the next 20 days and we made sure we were all set. When i called them up again on the day to confirm i was informed i had no appointments for today. It is sure a front desk issue and it is extremely unprofessional. And the teller even obliged to me to find a new vet. As a Clinician myself i understand the responsibility to keep my patients posted about their follow up and appointments. This was ridiculous . I would not wanna go back unless the people responsible make an effort to make things right. As i said no complaints about the Vet , she has nothing to do with this bad management or poorly trained support staff.Dr Arjun Dutt

The staff and Dr. McConahey handle our big fella very well! Trubs weighed in at 160lbs., received his annual shots and a full range tests that led to a clean bill of health this month. Very glad we have found a good group of folks here. We'll be regular customers.

They were caring and compassionate to both to my dog as well as me. We've had a tough time of it lately, but Dr McConaughey was very thorough, and offered options to help fit my tight budget. They just loved Tuco, and he was very good for them, despite his not being used to veterinary procedures. Plus, they came with a stretcher to transport my paralyzed dog from my van to the office. They loaded him again for Mr afterwards, too.

Staff is amazingly nice and helpful, answers any question you have and treats your dog as family, only issue is that its a little on the expensive side compared to other animal clinics. But all and all its a pretty good place to take your pet

In my opinion, this is the best vet clinic around. I've been bringing my dogs here since 1998 and haven't wanted to go anywhere else. Fantastic staff!
