Located in a nature preserve. The drive is beautiful. There is a small natural beach at the end of the road.

Dog friendly beach within 35 minutes of Chincoteague; which does NOT have a beach for dogs. We have been to Guard Shore Beach in the fall,winter and spring. It’s always been delightful to walk with the dogs. Today was our first visit in the summer. We arrived around 1:30pm. Wow! The horse flies are thick! Like wicked bad. The positives beach area was empty. A few people fishing and 2 families swimming. Did I mention the horse flies? Most certainly a deterrent for folks who would like spend a day there. If you do visit, be kind to those coming behind you and the environment, take whatever you bring home with you including your dogs waste. The beach does have trash cans so no excuses for leaving your trash.

It's very peaceful down here!! Just spray yourself down with bug spray and the horseflies won't bother you. Very clear and love swimming at the beach. Amazing view and a nice place to relax.

We took 2 dogs. The water was rough because of a storm and it was high tide so there wasn't much beach but a lot of broken concrete for them to climb and run around and jump on and off of. They are too young and inexperienced to know much about the water but they had fun. It's a 30 min drive from Chincoteague but go straight out 175 to rt 13 and then south not like google maps tells you or it's longer. There was a bit of trash but that we picked most of it up while the dogs explored when we saw a dumpster sort of hiding. Next time I'll go when it's low tide and not high winds so there's a wider beach.

This beach is a great place to take your dog swimming. It's quiet and doesn't have too many greenhead flies.

Limited amenities and not a great beach for crowds. However, especially at night or early day very quiet place to relax.
