I have been shopping here for over two decades, and I have always loved this Food Lion location! The employees here have always been super helpful and friendly, and the selection is very good as well.. they run amazing specials on soda too! Definitely the best Food Lion I've ever shopped at, and I've been to a lot. 5 stars!!!

There is one young lady there who is always so kind. She has blonde hair and seems to actually care about customers. The prices here are the best by far. Going into the competition store, it feels unorganized and cold.

Hey this place is just great, great produce, great Bing Cherry drinks that are cold, I just wanted to point this out though, a lot of the chewing tobacco behind the counter is wrongly priced by the case for a single pouch, And No One Seems To Know This. At all Food Lions everywhere around. No, a single pouch of Beech nut or some off brand is not going to cost $20, those are pretty much $2 for a pouch. Your most expensive chew here is redman golden blend, which will be a $10 pouch for supposedly way better taste. The others are always way less expensive. Because of some type of error, here we are trying to charge people 10x more than the product costs. The pouch next to this one here is $2... I've had managers called over and realize this and look it up in the book or something, and override the price down. No, a pouch of tobacco is not actually $20. This is like trying to charge $200 for a watermelon. Your register is wrong.

Although the smallest of the two Food Lions in Blacksburg it has an adequate supply of stock but limited variety. The store is always clean and the staff readily available to help.

Flexible hours and extremely nice staff is always a plus. And if you shop consciously using all the coupons it’s not that expensive. Their pre made to go food isles is amazing and sandwiches are great.The only issue is lack of options in the fresh produce isle as well as international isle.

The Food Lion located in this area provides a convenient shopping experience. Fresh produce, competitive prices, and friendly staff make it my preferred grocery store in the area.

Stop asking for multiple IDs when somebody buys alcohol. It’s so inconvenient when my partner and I are buying groceries and you want to see both of our IDs for her little six pack of Smirnoff Ice and I didn’t bring my wallet. She’s the one paying. You don’t need to see my ID too if she’s the one paying. If I was a kid wanting alcohol, I would just wait outside while somebody bought it for me. No other food lion that I’ve ever shopped at has asked for multiple IDs for an alcohol sale. I feel disrespected that you think I’m a kid getting somebody to buy alcohol for me, and I feel disrespected that you don’t care about inconveniencing your customers. You want me to drive all the way home, get my ID, and come back to show it to you when I’m not even the one buying it. Like I said before, you’re not outsmarting anybody.

The store is exceptionally clean and well-organized and carry enormous amount of products... You can find almost anything that you think you might need. The one staff ... cashier... might need a little dose of happiness but then again you might have been having a little off day which is okay no big deal. The products in the vegetable product produce area appeared to be very fresh although I didn't buy too many produce accept some baby carrots and there are very fresh. I would definitely visit and buy more products from this Food Lion in the future.

was a good and convenient store until they added the new fun sized self checkouts that make them think they can get by without having human cashiers. enjoy playing tetris with an entire buggy full of groceries on that tiny little stand that can't hold half of what's in your cart.

This Foodlion was nice & quiet when i went shopping. Although it was like 40mins before closing time. Customer service was very nice & helpful. They had no problem at all with all the groceries i had & it being rite at closing time. Usually i would get attitude from employees at that time with so many groceries but not tonight.

I love this food lion. I am a resident of Foxridge and it's amazing having such a close, well-stocked grocery store. Although the selection is slightly less than nearby Kroger's, I can always find what I need. The prices are great and the staff are friendly. 10/10 best grocery store in Blacksburg

Love to do our grocery shopping here every weekend. Price is also good for most of the items. Although I would really like to see more options in their fresh produce. I love mustard greens and this is the only store where I find it around this area, only one complain is that sometimes I find wilted and yellow leaves inside the bunch. Hence, 4 star and not 5.

The go to place for folks living in Hethwood. Great staff. Keep an eye out for their discounts. Meat products are frequently discounted. I have noticed that some of the food items are marked up and then discounted sometimes. So make sure that you keep an eye out for deals at say Kroger as well. Was recently renovated.

Food lion at Hethwood is clean, friendly. However, I was extremely disappointed cashiers & management are not wearing mask. I asked cashier & he said he was fully vaccinated. My reply. So am I but this new variable doesn't care if yr fully vaxxed.Alot of co-workers at VT fully vaxed & still getting variant..Please do the right thing & require mask for employees. VT is largest employer in the area, we require mask in all buildings

I like this Grocery store a lot. They staff are all friendly and young, but they still perform their duties well. I come here more than once a week. The store its self could have better selection of asian foods. For the size they keep a good balance of food in stock.

Some of the meats (hamburger, stakes) are brown when they are on the shelves, that just displeasing to see. When you buy, lettuse no matter what kind its brown with in a day. Other then that the store always looks nice and clean. and the staff is awesome. My sister and i always come here and we have never had any trouble. We love it, we come to Food Lion about once a week, at least.

Store is small and doesn't have a lot of variety. Food is overpriced and poor quality. Additionally they don't seem to be taking covid-19 seriously. Carts are not sanitized and some employers weren't wearing masks. Best part about this store is location if you live nearby, like in Foxridge. It's very convenient. If this store wasn't close to Foxridge I would never go.

Clean, friendly, seemed nice.Normal grocery store, seemed fine except that only way to get competitive pricing is to download their ap or get their "MVP Card". You just sign up for it. Doesn't take anything. So why should I have to do that for competitive pricing?

Very friendly staff, has a small-town feel to it which is unique compared to the other stores in Blacksburg. I like that the store usually isn't too busy, I can usually run in and grab a few things and be out in a matter of minutes if I'm in a rush.

I could not find any organic meat. The packaging says, " all natural" but that's not the same is it? I am happy to say I did find organic produce and a little bit of organic dairy.

This Food Lion doesn't have a lot of frills. There are only two self checkout stations and four register manned by cashiers. The only specialty department is the deli counter. There isn't a dedicated florist counter, salad bar, or bakery. That being said, if you don't need an uncommon item this is a good place to shop. The prices are generally comparable to Kroger. The biggest benefit is probably that if you live in nearby neighborhoods, it's within walking distance. Plus, it never gets as crowded as Kroger which can sometimes become a mess in the parking lot.

Great selection and low. prices. Our salesman was Todd and he really outdid himself. Great place to shop for high quality, reasonable priced furniture.
