The manager of the Family Dollar in Berryville, VA, is the most disrespectful and trashy character one can meet. She pretended that she was about to vomit when she saw me at the cash register. That is not the first time that she behaves in an insulting manner. Also, she changes her staff EVERY SINGLE WEEK because people cannot work for her more than a few days. She should have been removed from that job a long time ago. The entire town knows her reputation and a lot of people have switched to Dollar general, managed by the kindest and most helpful person .

Normally, the staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. Today, I had the nastiest cashier I've seen in years. No greeting, left me waiting at the register for 10 minutes, in which time a line grew. She didn't apologize or speak to anyone. I had a large order, for myself and a couple of friends. To save time with so many people waiting, I had her ring up everything together. I had brought a cloth FD bag with me and gave it to her. I asked her to ring up a reusable bag, which were behind the counter and use it for some of the merchandise. She continued to try to stuff bags of chips into the overflowing bag.I reached over and grabbed a cloth bag and asked her to ring it up and use it. She did, with attitude. As she was ringing up the last few items, I asked if she could put 2 plastic bags in my bag, because I had to drop off groceries at a couple of places on my walk home. She didn't answer and told me my total. I paid, then grabbed 2 plastic bags. She got angry and said I ought to think before I steal stuff. They cost the store money. I was dumbfounded. I said I thought it was easier on her if I separated the groceries after I paid instead of having her bag them separately, herself. Besides, I had just spent $60 on groceries and hadn't used a single plastic bag,had even purchased a 2nd cloth bag and she had jammed easily crushed groceries into only 2 bags. She balled up my change and receipt and put them in my hand and never said another word. She just glared at me, and started ringing up the items for the elderly gentleman behind me, who was quite upset by this point, along with all the customers behind him. I had been in such a good mood going in and came out upset and indignant. I don't see myself going back into that store again anytime soon.

Recently retired, I had time to discover Family Dollar carried groceries. When the cashier instructed me to the counter, she became short tempered and rude. My good mood turned to dismay and disgust when her treatment included telling me to not push my merchandise in her space, commanded I get another cart, and when I told her she did not need to rush on my account, she said she had work to do and was only helping the "boy" at the other counter. I doubt she realized that my $100 was helping support the store and her job. As I read other reviews, there seems to have a theme...rude and unkind service. I am another customer that will never return to this particular store.

I went shopping at this store last week for the red tag clearance and lets just say as someone who uses coupons this was the WORST TIME i had EVER had in a Family Dollar. I was excited to go in and get some good deals, the staff on the other hand. I was humiliated and put down in front of my children. The cashier profiled me as "you people" with our binders are being banned... Blah blah blah. She was making assumptions about what i was doing with the items i was purchasing. ABSOLUTELY NONE OF HER BUSINESS. Between two cashiers that were working they DID NOT understand Family Dollars coupon policy whatsover and totally went against it. One cashier would not ring up my items until the other read each and ever coupon.Im assuming the cashier could not read?. The one cashier actually cut off one of my transactions, for what reason i dont know. She was basically telling me i could not buy items...Anyway this was the WORST customer service experience i have ever had. Cashiers were very miserable and petty. Hungry for authority. Have your authority at Berryville Family Dollar! 👋 i will NEVER return. 😐

I was just in your store and was treated like a criminal for getting a hula hoop that was on display like it was for sale it even had a price tag and everything. Very disrespectful. I was told I should have known it was not for sale. How do you have items in your store that are not for sale and how is anyone supposed to know ??????

It's a great place to shop. The staff are very friendly & willing to help you if you need it & the prices are low. I love shopping here. I've been shopping here for years.

I usually find good deals! Only suggestion is to have a section for crafts like dollar tree has. That would be great!
