We absolutely loved this place!! Friendly staff and locals, amazing beers, beautiful views...what more could anyone ask for! It was a little warm but the little miss shortcake 🍰 beer kept us cool! We will definitely be back!

I told my wife I was going to find a place to get a beer after dropping her off at Raleigh Durham Airport; I was heading back to Roanoke. Little did I know I'd find a beer at a brewery in the middle of nowhere. Great beer, beautiful views, FRESH air, and a relaxing vibe, with indoor and outdoor seating, hammocks, a fireplace, field to walk, and a stage (I assume they have music some nights).

Southside Virginia's hidden gem, a cozy microbrewery and live music venue,owned by a completely wonderful couple with a strong sense of community, and the community has a strong sense for them. When people talk about places with a family feel this is up there with the best of them.

Enjoying atmosphere, there was live music as well. Small enclosed area but new structures were in the process of being built. Large outdoor area to hangout and enjoy a brew. Made for a nice Sunday afternoon ride.

This was a very friendly place. Small but very nice. The owner was a very down to earth guy and his craft beers were awesome. This was our first visit but we will deffinelty be going back. Great music, food truck was great and so was the barn fire.

We stumbled upon Mountain Valley Brewery by chance! At a local bike trail, Mountain Laurel Trails, a woman mentioned it to us and my husband LOVES craft beers. So we went.First visits are a little confusing because the taproom is actually behind the house and the house is absolutely in a rural area. Venture back and delight in a clean, light, little room that begs you you try a beer and pull up a chair. Unless weather is inclement DO NOT sit inside. I repeat, do not stay inside. Go to the door at the back and enjoy the porch with its fabulous views of Virginia's gorgeous piedmont. On a pretty evening, with a lovely breeze caressing your shoulders and cooling you, this porch is a little bit heavenly.If the porch with its lazy ceiling fan and locals chatting it up doesn't please you, try one of the hammocks under a shade tree or meander along the edge of the property enjoying views of Turkey Mountain and the hops fields.We are going back tonight with food, a bottle of wine (for me,) and prepared to enjoy live music, which apparently plays Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday afternoons.Dogs are WELCOME!!By the way, the beer is fabulous. My husband swears the finish is the best he's ever had the pleasure to enjoy and that this beer is among the best he has ever tried.If you have a chance, pleas try Mountain Valley Brewery. Its a unique and delightful experience.

My 1st Nite at Mountain Valley I was entertained LIVE by Ray Martin of Shame for Sydney while I waited in a short line to be served. Of the 6 Beers I tried in the Flight of 6 Pack That I Purchased for ONLY $8.25 .... I TRULY ENJOYED The Tastes of 3 Hops In, Vulture Roost and Sunrise Stout in particular. The Pour was perfect. There were no after tastes. The colors of these 3 were appealing. After my Flight I purchased a Howler Jug filled with 3 Hops In, so that I could have a souvenir. I was told by staff that when I return to their Brewery I could bring my Howler and refill it for $6 less. So in summation ... Mountain Valley Hops Brewery is AFFORDABLE LOCAL ENTERTAINMENT WITH INCENTIVES & I Recommend Any & All Attend!

Mountain Valley brewery is a more unique brewery than some of the others I've been to, in that they do not bottle or distribute their beer. As a small, locally owned business, the owner focus more on providing a unique, almost 'boutique' experience at their brewery. My favorite part was the hop farm, where they grow their own hops, and it warmed my heart to hear about how Mountain Valley sources many of their ingredients, such as honey and fruit, from local vendors. Although they do not package their beer for mass retail, you can buy a growler that they will fill up for you to take with you!

If you want great beer and breathtaking views look no further than Mountain Valley Brewing. I have never been to a brewery that merges the beautiful outdoors with unique beer quite like Mountain Valley. The main tasting room is subtle with about 6-7 beer offerings, a dart area, and other games available. On the outside you have a lot of space to take in serene mountains and countryside views. There's also several hammocks available in the warmer months to chill and relax. A separate pavilion has a tap room with other beer offerings and tons of games. My favorite beers were fireflies in the valley (pale ale), gypsy soul (sour), and gingerbreadman (stout). The execution of each was extremely good and very well crafted! One staff member informed me that they grow their own hops that's used for several of the beers. I can't wait to return!!

If you like a perfect place to enjoy great craft beer that has a small town friends and family feel then Mountain Valley Brewing is for you. They are dog friendly too. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They often have live musical talents and sometimes a food truck. The owners are so nice and welcoming. It's one of the best places around here and highly recommend!

Had a fantastic experience here today. The beer is great. The views and ambience are great. The beer knowledge, creativity/innovation are incredible. To find a jewel like this, especially one that has a hop farm too, is incredible on the East Coast and in the South. Great staff and even better beer. Food truck on site was delicious. They have a great relaxed environment. Hammocks by the taps outside along with board games and card games inside near the bar. Very relaxing atmosphere. Can't recommend this place enough.

Staff isn't very friendly. Beer is average at best. They have a blueberry stout that is not very good. Went to a wedding. The starting letting general public into a closed event. Took in much more than they could handle. Would not recommend.

Love this place and thier beer! Beautiful setting in the rolling foothills of southwest virginia. If you're ever in the Martinsville area and looking for something to do this is it! Friendly staff, Food trucks, live music, beautiful scenery, and great beer what more could you ask for?

Mountain Valley Brewing is the perfect stop when traveling between my hometown and my boyfriend's hometown. It's off of the beaten path but don't let that deter you from visiting...it's well worth the trip. The beer is so fresh tasting and there's something for everyone. My personal favorites are the Gingerbread Man (available in winter months) and the Vulture Roost. Every night we've visited there has been live music on the patio or covered stage outside. Their facebook page is kept up to date very well and it's easy to find out who is playing and when. There is often a food truck selling food but you can bring your own food in. Definitely check out this brewery and their award winning beers!

This tiny gem is constantly improving both their beer and their brewery. What began as a hobby in a shed became a tiny taphouse with 4 chairs and some outdoor picnic tables became a pavilion became an enclosed heated outdoor dining area. During this time, the beers themselves have gone from decent to good to great. Definitely worth a stop if you're passing through the area.

Went to Piedmont Garden Party where Peggy and Herb were serving their Vulture's Roost and Hops Around the Sun IPA. Very good selections for outdoor party. They have 6 craft beers on tap at their tasting room, from light wheat ale to a stout.Great views from their outdoor pavilion, with live music on Fridays and most Saturdays. Their Facebook page has up to date info on performances.

This is a beautiful, tucked away brewery in Axton, VA. The view is incredible and the owners are friendly and warm. The beers are delicious! Definitely stop by if you are in the area.
