This summer (2022) Diane Fairburn at Decorative Glass Solutions met my husband’s and my need to cover the horizontal transom above our patio door. Diane quickly and expertly designed and put together for us a stained glass panel composed of lovely blues and greens—just what we wanted. Although Decorative Glass Solutions is about forty minutes from our home in Williamsburg, Virginia, we would choose this company again for a stained glass piece because our experience was excellent.

This was no exception as to the quality you are more likely to receive when the Company owner’s are doing the work. We had two large Transoms and 3 small windows over our entry door transformed into a work of art.We live quite a distance from Richmond but Diane came to our home and helped me design the pieces. I was then sent templates for each piece and changed a few colors here and there.They then traveled back to install.

As a mosaic artist, I can share that this lovely glass shop does beautiful custom design, brings your designs to life, and in my case, does great repair work (electricians broke the stained glass and solder of an antique shade and tried to repair with wood glue?!). Decorative Glass Solutions meticulously repaired all of the broken pieces, solder is a perfect match, and even took the time to scale off all that wood glue! Fair pricing for highly specialized work. Amazing customer service and the owners are “Dog People.” What could be better? ❤️

Diane and her husband are wonderful people. I had a lot of fun working with Diane looking at designs and colors of glass. Her husband installed the stained glass panels and did an amazing job. The glass windows are AMAZING. We LOVE them as it finishes the main entrance to our home. Every day multiple times a day I look at the stained glass and it makes me smile from ear to ear. As the sun shines through the stained glass making little rainbows 🌈 on the wall I am filled with joy!! Working with Decorative Glass Solutions was the best decision. Diane and John are a wonderful team. Diane helped us design a scene for the window that is in the foyer above the front door. It compliments the gorgeous glass that John installed in the foyer door’s sidelights. We recently reached out to Decorative Glass Solutions to help us with transom windows in our kitchen. We loved the light that the windows provided but were seeking more privacy, so we thought that stained glass would be a great option. I called Decorative Glass Solutions to find out more information, and Diane was very responsive and helpful. I emailed pictures and measurements, and we reviewed some design ideas and costs. After choosing a design (options are endless), I visited the studio to select colors/textures. Diane drew up the plans and a few weeks later, the windows were installed (seamlessly over our existing windows). I could not be happier with the final product. These are works of art that make me smile whenever I am in the kitchen. Diane and her team are highly skilled, and I recommend them without hesitation!

2020: We have a sunroom that faces straight west, so the sun shines in directly, often right into our eyes! We have shades on the windows, but the transoms are not covered. Diane suggested patterned glass panels added to the transoms might help to diffuse the incoming sunlight. This has been a wonderful solution! We still have light coming in, but the direct sunlight is scattered now and doesn't blind us. I'm attaching a picture of one of the transoms that shows the patterning. Thanks, Diane, for another great idea!2019: As part of the kitchen renovation, we got all new cabinets, including one top set that had clear glass panels. We decided to go back to Diane to have leaded glass inserts made and they turned out beautifully. Thanks again Diane!2017: We did a major renovation project that included gutting the entire master bath and kitchen. The master bath redo meant removing the existing window and moving and enlarging the opening. We went to Diane Fairburn's Decorative Glass Solutions because we wanted something very special, and she had a beautiful leaded glass window already made up. The problem, though, was that it wasn't large enough for the opening we had. The solution? She created two leaded glass side panels that mimicked the pattern in the main window. Problem solved and the final result is gorgeous! Thanks Diane!

We added stained and leaded glass panels to our foyer walls for a pop of color and sparkle to create a unique look of stained glass on interior walls. Diane Fairburn came to our home to take measurements of our front door windows along with our two sidelights and one transom. She had lots of different designs to show. She also provided recommendations of what she thought would work the best for our home which was super helpful. She was very personable, easygoing, professional, and stayed right with in the budget we set. She sent us a paper design which we reviewed before making a decision. We were very pleased with the outcome of our design! We know its the envy of the neighborhood. It adds to the richness of our home and adds privacy at the same time. I found Decorative Glass Solutions through a web search. Putting a piece of stained glass in the foyer window next to the front door was a long time wish. They were quite easy to work with and have a large selection. An in-home visit was done to take exact measurements, along with a chance to look at a product book with many designs. I would suggest that everyone take a second and even third look at the many options. I ended up completely changing my mind and went from a more traditional look to a more contemporary one. A very good experience overall.

I purchased a custom glass window from a seller off Etsy and when it arrived one of the colors was not what I expected! I found Diane in a search and took a gamble when I reached out to see if there was anything that could be done. She was able to replace all the glass in the color I disliked and now my window is beautiful! I ordered a couple years ago the side panels for my front door. We installed them ourselves and it was easy. They are beautiful and let in enough light in the foyer. Very pleased with the side panels and the effects it gives off. I will eventually order the same decorative panel for the transom window in my Livingroom.

I wish I could give them more than five stars but it won't let me! We love, love, love our stained glass. Diane & John were first class to work with. We have transom windows in our jazz bar area of our bed & breakfast inn and they installed grape vines and clusters in them. It looks great and our guests always comment on them. They also created a faux double hung window that was incredibly creative. on our upper level, we have old fashioned looking pineapples as it is the sign of peace and welcome here in Virginia. Our inn was built in 1860 so it looks like it was original to the house. Lastly, they designed and installed decorative glass in our bridal suite bathroom because it unfortunately overlooks a gas station. Now, all the guests see is beautiful etched glass! I highly recommend Decorative Glass Solutions!
