Terrible Place to do Business with.We were a bit hesitant to use this place because of some of the negative reviews, but decided to give them a chance since they are so close to our home. We made an Appointment a day prior to get our Dog's nails trimmed; we showed up and no one was even in the Building. We waited for almost an hour, we called multiple times, sent emails and never got a response. Never again...!!

This is a delayed review as my dog is finally starting to feel better and get back to his old self.In May I dropped off my small dog breed and was immediately greeted by the most unfriendly, unprofessional and standoffish person. Not sure if she was the owner or an employee.I wish I would have gone with my instincts and my gut feeling telling me not to leave my dog with her because it was a very bad feeling. This lady seemed very hesitant to be able to perform the standard wash and cut on my dog.But alas, I left him. Hours later when I went to pick up my dog up I was greeted by the same unfriendly person. I found my dog shivering in his carrier. The lady proceeded to tell me that he was the worst dog she has ever had and that he was horrible! He tried to jump off the table and that she couldn't believe how bad of a dog he was. She went on and on and on about him being terrible. When I got my dog home he was in such bad shape. He couldn't walk! He had three nicks out of his skin. It also appeared he had been choked or strangled because he couldn't breathe. My dog did not eat for at least a week because of his throat.I'm not going to even go into details about the cut because it was just awful!!One of my biggest problems with URBAN PETS PAWS is if this is your line of work and area you specialize in, why do you have such a bad attitude? Why would you have taken my dog as your client if you know you couldn't handle the job?For all future clients, do them a huge favor and don't think about dollar signs-think about what you are capable of and turn them down rather than harm their precious pet!If you are reading this, don't be fooled by the ten positive reviews. Urban Pet Paws is fantastic! I have brought my dog there three times and Carel (the owner) has been incredible. She is best I have ever seen. I wanted a cut that was the authentic to the breed and it has been flawless every time. But most importantly, my puppy is very happy each time I pick him up and is really comfortable with Carel. All the dogs seem so content and the atmosphere is cheerful. If you want a wonderful place, that is impeccably clean and professional, Urban Pet Paws is the place for your loved dog!

Unprofessional. Took my dog to have a bath and nail trim in the AM. Groomer insisted on removing his undercoat before the bath which was fine. We've had it done at other groomers so it wasn't a big deal. Said it would take most of the day. Got a text at the end of the day saying when he'd be ready to pick up, that it would cost $125, and, "I don't take credit cards." Fortunately she did take PayPal. Certainly should have asked before dropping him off how much it was going to cost. That's on me. She took so much hair off of him, he didn't look like the same dog. When I've combed to remove his undercoat in the past, he's had enough at about 10 minutes. She says it took 1.5 hours. I can't imagine how uncomfortable it must have been. She cut the hair on and around his belly even though she didn't have permission and cut his nails so close he was limping home. The kicker was as soon as we got home, my daughter asked what was wrong with her dog.When I complained, I was told it was what I asked for and those are her prices. No apology for cutting his hair or the nails. She was right, I was wrong. If she has just appologized for her mistakes I wouldn't be wasting my time writing this review. Maybe it was just a bad day?

What an amazing place. We dropped off our 2 fur babies and it was very comforting. The lady (forgot her name) was professional and very flexible of our request. We definitely recommend this place and its only a 5 min drive from our house! Which is a HUGE PLUS!

I am crazy happy about this pet grooming shop! The place is very clean and efficient. When you walk in, you can tell the care and love that has been put into the place. The shop wants you to know exactly what they do- nothing is hidden. The stations are clean and can be seen through glass walls and in the front of the shop. Carel is fantastic! She is kind and is clear she knows dogs and how to treat them. One thing I loved was getting a text when the dogs were near to being done. Picking up my two 70lbs dogs, they were very happy (one of them gets stressed easily, but he was so calm and happy at Urban Pet Paws!) and so clean and trim! The dogs were treated so well and look so great! And I don't know what she uses to wash the dogs, but it is a very nice smell- not any typical off shelf dog shampoo. Price feels fair and I'm going to be a repeat customer. *Do know at the time of the review- she was only taking cash, PayPal, Venmo, or check-sounds like she plans on changing that soon.

I brought my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel here today. I have tried three other groomers in the area and was unhappy with all. Today, I left Urban Pets with my dog finally having the perfect cut. She left happy and beautiful. We will definitely be back!!!

First time visiting this Urban Pets Paws location today. Miss carel she is super helpful/knowledgeable and great costumer service. I bring my chihuahua lily, she is so nerves when is time for bath but not today she was so relaxing and the way she engaged with miss carel that was big relief for us. Thank you keep doing the great work. Well done.

I took my doggies there, AMAZING service the lady there is very kind and treats the dogs there with lots of love and she gives them terrific haircuts better than I have ever seen before 100% recommend coming here 😃

URBAN PETS PAWS (2809 Columbia Pike).CAUTION: THIS BUSINESS IS UNCONCERNED FOR YOUR DOG’S SAFETY WHEN LEFT IN THEIR CAREMy dog was attacked while boarded at this facility. The owner left my dog suffering all weekend while she displayed clear signs of discomfort (refused any food for the weekend). Not only did the owner not tell me about the attack, but once I realized my dog was hurt the next day, the owner was defensive, callous, and refused to cooperate with me in order to resolve this issue. Once pressed the owner admitted she believed my dog “had a scuffle” with another dog about a half hour after I dropped her off on Thursday afternoon, leaving her in pain and without basic medical attention for days until I picked her up Sunday evening. She will not provide the other dog’s medical records so I can provide them to the vet, and actually hung up on my vet’s office when they called themselves to obtain the other dog’s records.Please do not jeopardize the safety of your animal by putting them in the hands of this monster.

Hair all over floor. Doesn’t seem like legitimate business because they only take PayPal Venmo cash or check so they don’t have to pay taxes most likely. As well as they have no set grooming price a grooming costs 30$ and just a bath and cutting cost 50$ you could go to pet smart and get a better deal where they are more professional and legit. They also don’t let you pick your dog up before 3. We dropped our dog off at 10 am and couldn’t get him till 3. They also don’t tell you an estimate of when they are done
