My pets love this store. The food is absolutely the best and high quality. They always make special orders if they don’t have what you need. The customer service is great.But i would be remiss if i didnt warn you of the grooming. Please beware ! But overall this is a good store to get organic and top of the line treats like Himalayan cheese bars for your fur babies!

First time visiting this Loyal Companion location today. The gentleman working there was very friendly and informative. He managed to get my not-so-friendly pup to want some attention from him. They have a great selection of specialty pet products. the staff is very friendly and the store is well organized and clean. When I am in the area again, i will definitely shop here again. UPDATED: I found this Fresh is Best Chicken Heart Bites at this Loyal Campanion location and my finicky pups love them!!! They already ate 1/2 bag. I'm going to need to pick up more!

Updated review below,Been going to the Bethesda location all summer but we moved and this location is closer now. I did a pick up order by placing it online. The food I got was freezer burnt and didn’t even smell like the dog food just smelled like freeze burn. The other item I had an issue with was also freezer burnt but EXPIRED not a few days not a week. But by a whole month and a half. I called and the guy was saying he thinks it’s fine to give it to my dog since it’s frozen. No sir. He can give it to his dog. I’m not doing that. Not cool. He did offer for me to bring it back to the store. Haven’t yet because it’s 25 minutes away and I’m busy!Anyway I won’t be buying anything frozen here again. In the photos below I had just opened the bag for the first time and that is how it looked. The second item was the expired one and freezer burnt as well. The two stars is because I love loyal companion Bethesda they are the absolute best.UPDATE 11/10I finally was able to stop by to return the expired and freezer burnt products. I was greeted by a female manager (mesh I believe) and she was extremely sweet and apologetic about the situation and was 100% aware of it. She was attempting to contact me to resolve the issue which told me that she truly cares about the customers.I got to shop around in the store for a bit and discovered how cute it actually is! They have a good selection of items I ended up purchasing a bunch of stuff. I am amending my review to 5 stars because she resolved the issue of the frozen products and provided amazing service.

We were really happy to stumble upon the Clarendon loyal companion after first moving to the neighborhood. Now my dachshund knows the street and always tries to lead us to the door on every walk. The selection of treats has been great and the staff are always friendly, excited to see my pup, and happy to answer all my questions about food and snacks.

Many thanks to Jason at the Arlington Loyal Companion location for reassuring us over the phone that he would wait for our arrival, even if we were a few minutes past the closing time. When I went to pay, he didn't just finish the transaction and shoo us out the door... he went the extra step of reminding me that I may have one of their new Friends and Family coupons in my email, which I did! And he honored it, saving me $40! And then as he walked us out, he gave my sweet doggies Smokey and April a handful of treats before closing for the evening. Smokey counts on his CBD Oil by Wholistic Hound for controlling his seizures. So glad this shop carries the 1000 mg bottle. Excellent service, wonderful shop, great products! Thanks so much.

Loyal Companion Clarendon is an awesome local pet shop. They stock a wide variety of pet food, treats and terrific pet gear. The staff is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend shopping there. Your dog will love it. I know mine two terriers do.

Great neighborhood pet store. Although this place is technically a chain, this is my favorite pet store to go to, because it feels like a local mom & pop store. It's small (but they have all the things you need), the people remember your name (and your pet), there is usually a pet behind the counter minding the shop. I'll never go back to big-box type stores staffed by teenagers who don't care again.

The gentleman, when coming into loyal companion, asked us if we wanted treats for my puppy that visited. However, I declined and said that I was just looking for a freedom harness for my dog. But that being said, he pointed me to a bin, that was not already on the shelf, and told me to look through it to find a harness. After looking through the bin, there was no S to M harnesses, only XS/XL.Therefore, I asked the gentleman if there were other freedom harnesses of my dog size, however, he then got onto the ground asked what type of dog mine was, and further requested a picture to send to a relative! After the picture he got up, went to the back of the store and started re-moving the pet food he was previously doing before. I asked him a question.I didn’t felt super confused because he did not do the task that I asked him to nor did he direct me to an order form or a future website that I could order this harness.With that being said, it was a super uncomfortable situation. My dog got a photo in the process with a random stranger, and we got no harness, nor do we buy anything from the store and we just walked out.I almost feel violated that my dog and myself had to go through that process and not received any customer service, and my dog was photographed for his own personal benefit! Awful experience never going back.

I will say, this location has great selection of Zignature wet and dry dog food, which is why I go to this one. And usually, I have a pretty decent experience there. However, yesterday, I didn’t. At the register, I had my own bag and the cashier rudely pushed my purchases across the counter to me. He also didn’t respond when I said “thanks and have a good one” on the way out of the store. Usually the employees will put my items in the bag, at this location as well as other locations.

Great little store with an awesome selection of high quality pet products. Only issue was I was looking for some winter gear for me very, very small pup and though they had some excellent winter gear, it was only size medium or above. I am going to guess they were just out of the tiny dog apparel.If you live in Clarendon, Roslyn, or Courthouse this a great place for high-quality pet food.

All of the workers at Loyal are friendly, personable, and always exceed my expectations when it comes to customer service. Prior to getting my pup, we were unsure of which food to purchase. They took the time to discuss the many raw food options they carry. They are knowledgeable of the many options they have. Loyal is very accommodating as I have a picky pup and are always willing to order specific food for us. Overall, I highly recommend this Loyal Companion.

Thanks be been in there the last 2 times and it’s the worst experience ever. They had me waiting while they were in the back. Then they don’t bother looking at online orders. The second order they couldn’t get it correct. Then O get an attitude and a smart attitude of sorry. Your guys need to have better customer service . Especially why Chewy has it cheaper.

New fav pet shop for dog food. Carry the best stuff and a huge selection. The pup loves open farm dog products and they have by far the best selection of it. And the folks are always nice and helpful if i have questions. ❤️

This is our favorite pet spot in Arlington. The staff is uber knowledgeable and ready to take questions and make recommendations. They also allow dogs in the shop and give tasty treats! They are a little pricey, but worth it given the location and overall pleasant experience. They have a huge assortment of premium food and natural products. Do it.

I want to start off by saying I spent hundreds of dollars over the years before they change their name to loyal companion. I really enjoy coming to this shop until today.The individual tending the store was very rude, dismissive and pushy. As I went to put my food on the counter to be rung up the individual immediately said you need to step back. I have no problem keeping the social distancing in place but the way he demanded me to step back made me feel threatened. He then goes on to ramble about how he’s attempting to social distance as much as possible and he began to act agitated and starts to threaten to not serve me for not having a mask on. I stated to him there was no sign on the door stating I had to wear a mask nor did anyone stop me at the door asking me to wear one. He then stated that it was common sense to have a mask on. I truly felt patronized and profiled as the gentleman leaving before I walked in had no mask and wasn’t spoken to the way I was. I then stated I would be happy to put on a mask if you would put the sign on the door stating it’s required he then continued to say I don’t have to serve you technically so I asked for his name and and he said why are you going to complain about me? I said I’m going to write a letter and he said good my name is Jason.The customer service with this individual was so rude I will never shop here again and I will be writing a letter to the corporate office because no one should be treated this way. I hope all of the employees are not the same because they will continue to loose business with Jason.

I came in looking for a sensitive stomach food formula for my dog who had recently started vomiting, and instead got a 15 min private consultation! Jason was very knowledgeable about all the food options and gave me detailed information about each brand to help me make the best decision. He also talked me through when his own dogs had similar GI problems and encouraged me to see my vet, but in the meantime recommended a great hydrating/electrolyte replenishing option in the form of goat's milk. Our dog loved the goat milk formula and was soon on the mend! Thank you Jason!

Meh, maybe it's because I go to other stores typically, but it's just meh. I know it was Saturday, but the one employee in the store while showed me some options did it begrudgingly and the moment they saw a way out, went to another part of the store. I wouldn't say they mocked me, but they weren't exactly nice nor professional. Anyhow, if you want some different dog food, it's fine, but I wouldn't run here.

I would give it 6 stars if I could. The team is awesome. We have been taking our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Kymba, there since she was a pup. The team (and Kona, the awesome Great Dane) greets her by name when we walk in. They provide her with a treat, so it's become a regular stop on our walks. The staff is super nice, personable, knowledgeable, and all simply good people overall. We genuinely feel welcome at Loyal Companion every time we step foot in the store.Prices are competitive, especially since they incorporated a simple point system where you get X dollars in credit for X dollars spent in store. We get all our food (and treats) there. They are super accommodating. They provide car side pick-up and when there are too many dogs in the store, they will come outside and greet you.They do good in the community too. They hold pet adoption events & they allow local animal business to advertise their services.Ryan, Meesh, Emily, Jason, (and Brittany) are the best.Service 12/10Pricing 9/10Knowledge 10/10Value 10/10

A Local dog shop that is so much more. This location is placed perfectly beside the best coffee shop in Arlington, also with a very local feel. The staff @ Wylie are amazing additions to our community, and always setting a high bar for both human and dog customer experience.

Great service and decent selection of dog food/treats/toys/accessories. You should be able to find pretty much anything you need for your dog here. Definitely on the pricier side, but remember that it's nice to support local businesses sometimes!

Awesome store! Upscale toys, leashes, etc. and human-grade food. They are on a little side road not far from Whole Foods with metered parking out front. Super convenient since I work in ARL & can pick up stuff on my lunch break. Love it!

Great to have a place in the neighborhood to get quality pet supplies. The toys are a bit expensive but they are higher-quality and generally durable. My dog loved the birthday treat I got there.

This is the 3rd incarnation of this pet store (AKA Spot, Wylie Wagg, Kriser's) but one trip here and you'll never go back to a Petco or PetSmart ever again. The staff is universally great, and are quick to help out with helpful anecdotes about which products have worked well for them and their pets. This is mostly a dog store, as cat products are relegated to a small room in the back, but everything is high quality and will make your pet a lot happier in the long run than the bargain bin stuff you usually find at the big box stores.
