I recently visited the Pentagon City Costco at 1200 S Fern St, Arlington, VA, and I must say, it's one of the best Costco locations I've been to! The store stands out for its impressive size, boasting one of the largest inventories in the area. This vast selection really shines through, offering everything from electronics to groceries, and their bulk purchases are a great way to save money. The food court is another highlight, offering delicious and affordable options like hot dogs, pizza, and a variety of desserts that are perfect for a quick bite during a shopping trip. However, there's a slight downside – the parking. It can be a bit of a hassle, especially during peak hours. Navigating the parking lot can be challenging, but it's a small price to pay for the overall shopping experience. In conclusion, despite the minor inconvenience with parking, the Pentagon City Costco remains one of my favorite locations. It's a fantastic place for anyone looking to find great deals on a wide range of products. Definitely worth a visit!

Costco Colossus: Shopping & Samples Await!Calling all bulk-buying enthusiasts! This mega-Costco boasts a sprawling parking lot and an equally vast selection of goods. But first-timers, take note: VISA is king here, so leave your Mastercard at home. While navigating the bustling aisles, I fueled up with a delicious fruit smoothie from the food court – a smart pre-shopping strategy! Don't forget to watch for tempting Costco samples scattered throughout the store – who knows; you might discover your new favorite snack!Speaking of favorites, the food court pizza. Crispy crust, generous cheese, and that irresistible Costco magic – it's a must-try!Pro tip: Skip the weekend madness and shop during the week for a more relaxed experience. Your wallet and nerves will thank you!

this costco is a pretty good size so it has all the usual items you would find.one thing that i’ve repeatedly noticed is there is never an employee to be found if you want to ask a question and when you do find the random employee, they’re less than willing to answer your query.it’s usually a vague pointing gesture with a “in that direction” or “i’m not sure” with no attempt to further assist.that being said, there are always numerous employees by the registers hanging out, looking on at the millions the company is raking in.it’s my local costco so I go with the knowledge that if i don’t see the item on that visit, hopefully the next time i might.

It’s anarchy and massive portions. But they have added self checkout which speeds up the line to get out. Typical for a Costco, all portions are huge. It’s great if you have a business or lots of freezer space or a lot of people to feed.

This is a great Costco with a wide variety of goods, wider than most CostCos. But, even with two new parking structures getting in and out is really hard

Overall: 4.25. Conveniently located just outside of Pentagon City Metro Station & other shops including Best Buy, Marshall’s, IKEA, etc. Well-patrolled parking lot with free garage & surface parking after getting parking ticket validated by Costco representative staffing the exit. Good cross-selection of products, furniture, houseware, clothing, etc.

Great selection and deals for the most part, but they can and should do better. One of the two elevators in the parking garage has not been fixed in several months. The entry barriers to the parking lot and or tickets to get in or out fail almost as often as they succeed. Just yesterday they had one of two gates working at the main entrance and the exit -- I mean if you can't get all the gates to work, doesn't it make sense to open them all to avoid bottlenecks? And why keep the REAR gates down (often a more convenient or at least alternative way to get out) and nobody there to help if half the people coming in don't have tickets to get out. For my part, it shows stupidity and lack of oversight. Because I was not able to get a ticket I was not able to exit at the rear gate because it was down and I didn't have a ticket to use it.However, more importantly, we are noticing that the staff are becoming increasingly surly and unhelpful with some exceptions. On the customer interaction front, Renee, for instance, at the front entry (mid afternoons during the week) is the world's best greeter and sets the kind of standard Costco is supposed to be known for. This location is a big money maker re. the amount of traffic they attract and perhaps that is why they seem to be resting on their laurels and or the staff are not being well managed or appreciated. I always blame management because they are the people who are supposed to run the show and set the standard, and Costco, a giant money maker (have you seen the stock price lately) is known for taking care of their employees and their customers...Pending any response or attempt to improve things I am happy to amend this review. I think it's very telling that management has not responded to any of these reviews, especially the negative ones and there are many...

This Costco storefront may seem tiny but rest assured, it is the same inside as any other warehouse, maybe even larger. Loved this location, right next to a mall. Great selection in all respects. The parking lot isn't small by any means, but it may take some time and patience to find parking on the weekends. Validating parking is super easy, at the "valet" umbrellas right at the exit (we only stayed for under an hour but I believe they validate up to 2 hours).

One of the two elevators for the parking garage has been down for the last 3 or 4 months at least. It has given me enough time to write this review as I wait in the line for the elevator that stretches out of the parking garage.

Food Court Review. So no one here even takes your order, it all through an ordering kiosk. So you would think that would free up the folks to just get the orders ready. Nope, Costco must have let the cashiers go. The line for folks waiting was, not joking, 30 folks deep.

Such a love hate relationship with this location. It’s the closest one to me when I’m in DC but it’s ridden with problems.1. Parking - it’s awful. You’ll eventually find a spot but no matter the time of day, you’ll be waiting in traffic.2. Customer service - unlike any Costco I’ve ever been to, this location reminds me of the DMV. You are inconveniencing the workers when you walk in. Heaven forbid you ask a question.3. Checkout line chaos - similar to the parking lot, you have to be aggressive when checking out. People coming from every direction. Complete disregard for those waiting in line. It’s the worst.Good luck!

Oddly Costco is a happy place for me. The meats, produce and wine selection are superb. The jewelry is very high quality. Don’t be scared to buy the Kirkland products because they are mostly sourced from the brand named product. Staff are friendly even when they are super busy.

Awesome Costco, I’m from Texas so this was a new experience we don’t have the industrial elevators that’s cool! Everyone was nice and friendly! Bathroom stalls were nasty not one but all three of them.

The store is ok. It's always busy. The parking is the frustrating part. You get 2 hours validated but parking is tight, the garage is small and difficult to navigate with anything over a compact vehicle and 1 out of 10 times the ticket receiver at the exit gate will not work correctly.

My recent experiences at the Costco warehouse have unfortunately been marred by a disconcerting trend of workers seemingly overstepping boundaries in their pursuit of membership card verification. While I understand the importance of ensuring a members-only shopping environment, the manner in which this verification is carried out has become increasingly intrusive and, in some instances, borderline harassing. The frequency with which workers approach customers for membership card checks has reached a point that goes beyond ensuring the security of the store. Instead, it feels like an aggressive push that borders on discomfort for patrons. This incessant checking not only disrupts the shopping experience but also creates an atmosphere of mistrust between customers and the staff. It is essential to recognize that while membership verification is a necessary protocol, the approach and frequency must strike a balance that preserves the welcoming and customer-centric environment that Costco is known for. The current trend, however, appears to be eroding this atmosphere, making customers feel scrutinized and unwelcome. Moreover, the manner in which some workers execute these checks seems to lack professionalism. Instances of aggressive or confrontational behavior have been observed, further exacerbating the discomfort for customers who are simply trying to enjoy their shopping experience. This not only reflects poorly on the individual workers but also raises questions about the overall training and management oversight within the store. While the security of the store and the exclusivity of membership benefits are important, it is crucial for Costco to address this issue promptly. A review of the current verification practices, coupled with additional training for staff on customer interaction and service, may help strike a more appropriate balance between security measures and preserving the welcoming atmosphere that customers expect from a reputable brand like Costco. In conclusion, the increasing frequency and aggressive approach of membership card checks at the Costco warehouse have negatively impacted the overall shopping experience. Striking a balance between security measures and customer comfort is crucial to maintain the trust and loyalty of patrons who have come to expect a positive and inclusive environment from the Costco brand. Immediate attention to this issue would contribute to the restoration of a more harmonious shopping experience for all customers.

Borderline uncivilized, lol, but it's to be expected when you put a Costco inside a city.Stay focused!! You'll get a parking check that they'll validate on the STORE exit.Food court kiosks have lines. But still the best pizza deal in Washington DC.Uncharacteristically, I did hit a snag recently on an item return. But I simply visited another Costco and the item was returned expeditiously.I'm completely loyal to Costco and would give 7 stars if compared to Giant, Safeway, Lidl, or Trader Joe's

It took me 2 hrs to truly see what they have. It is worth the trip. The junk food is a quick plus. Get the croissant and chicken!

Probably the best Costco in the general area. Well layed out (in the Costco style) and carries a full range. No real evidence of it, but feel like the meat selection is better than other Costco’s nearby. Shame it can sell liquor but that’s state law not Costco.

Was there on a Sunday afternoon to get a prescription; am not a member. It was a madhouse - with long line after long line of patrons waiting to check out. Maybe the prices justify its popularity - but I know if I had any real shopping to do, I'd definitely try going on a week-day when there would hopefully be less customers.

I think this Costco is great - inventory is always good, BUT I won't be visiting their food court again. I was waiting for my food and was posted up by the area where they call order numbers. While I was waiting, I saw there were roaches darting around the floor. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, but I know they weren't when I saw a worker intentionally kick one under a counter. Immediately lost my appetite.

The customer service here is so bad. Parking is horrible. I should’ve left my cart and just shopped at the other locations in VA. Every time I come here, I had a few bad experience where they accused me of not being the person from the pic shown on my physical executive membership card. They even asked for my ID to prove, even when I’m doing a simple return or price adjustment. Usually when they return stuff.. they just scan the receipt, then your membership, and done! Idk they made it a big deal and asked to show my ID to verify when I have the physical card on me. I didn’t have my wallet on me to show. And this lady turned around asked her co worker “does she look like the person on the membership” and he said yes. Idk why she made it a big deal; obviously that is me. Never coming here again.

A great wholesale place. Staff are kind and helpful.Today I was there for optical to get glasses. Samantha and Halima were really helpful.Only thing to look out for is that it can get busy often. Even if you're only buying a few things just beware that it can take a while to park, shop, get checked out, and get out of the parking lot.

I like this place. But customer service is horrible. Especially outside. This lady doesn’t like her job. She was extremely rood. She didn’t want to open the parking door. She asked me why my parking ticket doesn’t work. But I doesn’t know why the ticket didn’t work in that time. At the same time my newborn baby cried more than 1 minute!!!! Don’t work here if you can not be polite and patient!

Sunday, 4/7/24: Wow, 10:20:ish a.m., busier than I've ever seen it here.... The line to get into the parking lot off Fern Street was about two blocks or more long(almost to Army Navy Drive). After waiting 15 minutes, maybe longer, it occurred to me to go to the entrance on South Hayes Street. Into the garage in fewer than two minutes! Once in the store, I did my Big Mama's thing of moving about smartly, politely, and with a hello and big smile to the people whose carts I gently moved out of the center of the aisle! Picked up steaks, salad and sandwich trays, drinks, bread, and dessert for a VERY last-minute lunch I was hosting at noon! In and out of the store in about 20 minutes! All lanes were open and Costco team members were everywhere and AWESOME.Previous review:Even though it was a usual busy Sunday morning, we went with list in hand and were in and out in no time. I'm sure due in large part to the fact that they had almost all of the check-out lines open. 🛒🙌🏽

Clean. Had to see the members section for errors regarding my Costco membership card. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent customer service from Jeung who proceeded to make the necessary corrections. First time at this store.

Almost always a long line for checkouts. Most days, I just go here for the food court.

This is the absolute most most chaotic Costco I’ve ever been too in my life. The people are unapologetically rude. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because they validate parking. Otherwise, I see no reason for me to ever return to this zoo.

I used to love Costco, but lately, it's so crowded, and they don't always have enough cashiers. I know they have a self-checkout, but they still have to have more people to work.Sometimes it's tough to find the item we're looking for. And to get the help you have to wait.
