This is the worse Petco ever. We brought our 6month old puppy in to have a bath, and nail trim and upon Joslyn the groomer meeting our puppy, she was very rude, direct, and showed little to none kindness to our baby. She yanked and pulled his collar as if he was some type of rag doll, she didn't try to introduce herself to our puppy Kai in friendly manner what so ever. She also told us she will see how he acts in the back and will let us know if he could go through it but never came back. We were told she started the process, so we bought something and came back ( which took about 5 min) to see she was done bathing him. She only spent 5 minutes washing him. I'm pretty sure she though we left the store and when we came back to check on Kai, she was sitting on the floor on her cell phone when we walked in. It was so very unprofessional and tacky.We could hear our baby crying for help in the back sonwe told her that we want to take our baby home and didn't want any other services from her.We spoke to her manager and all he did was make excuses for her bad behavior. Please don't take your puppy's or dog's there. What a terrible first experience for us all!!!

I came into here, first thing I asked a lady that was feeding cats was if she could help me “I don’t work here” she states as she continues to feed cats then a few minutes later I see her stocking cat food on shelves. I asked the cashier a question and she looked scared of my presence (I’m a black woman). So I politely left. All I wanted was to know if my teacup yorkie can get his nails trimmed for a walk in. These people are rude nasty and afraid of their own imaginary beliefs.

Mold mold and more mold. A good amount of the fish were also in terrible condition, even the plants that came in the new box were already wilted and had spots of mold.Not only that, some fish were about double the price of PetSmart's. So you pay double to get dead and moldy products? No thanks. Avoid!

The young guy that assisted me was great. Very friendly, courteous, and helpful. He was able to answer most of my questions, the ones he wasn't able to he offered to put me in touch with them directly which was thoughtful but not necessary. It was my first time to this particular store and I was happy with the selection of products and live fish there.

I took my mini Schnauzer to Petco Annandale grooming for the first time. Brian and the other staff whom I met the last time were nice and patiently answered the questions I had without rushing. The grooming room was not chaotic and clean, which was good for my dog. When I went to pick my dog up, she looked so cute that I started booking another grooming appointment for my another Schnoodle.

My encounter with Jose at Petco was fantastic! He really knows his stuff when it comes to Betta fish. And their store mascot, Bluey the Betta, is very well taken care of and loved. I'm glad to have a store with such experience, so newbies like me can learn.

Brian is incredible! I’ve brought my dog to dozens of other groomers, but Brian consistently demonstrates the most attention to detail and my dog is noticeably less anxious after appointments with him compared to other groomers.

First time coming to Petco since moving to the area. Not a pleasant first trip, Gabriel checked me out and never greeted me at the register. Was on his phone when I first walked up and when I ask for a bag for my item he slide them off the counter into a bag. I’ve been coming to many different Petco’s over the years and by far the worst customer service I’ve received.

Probably the worst Petco I have seen. There's no shopping cart, which is more than inconvenient if you purchase more than one bag or a few cans of food. The cashier was barely polite, not lifting a finger to help pack, and ordering me to put the basket back by the front door while I was packing all of the items I had purchased. Lots of boxes everywhere, no room to browse up and down the aisles. A very unpleasant experience all in all.

Groomers here do not know how to groom doodles. Brought my Bernedoodle and said that we could cut her fur pretty short (like a summer cut), but to leave her poofy head & her tail. I picked her up and she was completely shaved. Both her back paws have been bleeding since picking her up, and we noticed cuts on the inside of her ears. It feels like they didn’t want to deal with doodle fur & just took the easy way out by shaving her.

Be aware that some products are cheaper/expensive when you buy on site (instead of buying online).I got an open product (manually closed with a piece of scotch tape) for flea and tick meds for my dog when I ordered it online and arrived at the store for pick up. I saw the unopen medication right behind the cashier. So naturally I asked for the unopened box as I can't be sure what's inside with anything if someone else broke the seal.The cashier "insisted" that opened ones must be sold first before unopened products and told me that I can verify the contents in front of him. The employee said he could show me the contents and he opened it. At this point, I didn't feel like wasting my time so I just took the med.Honestly, I felt dismissed for not honoring a very simple request. This is not a small pet shop, and I didn't expect this kind of service in a big brand pet store Petco.

This Petco is very big and has animals at this location compared to it's smaller cousin off Van Dorn. We go to this one for larger selections despite being 6+ miles further (for city driving that's far 😉).It's usually well organized and the staff are super attentive and helpful. If they don't have what you're looking for in store, they help you with finding it online.There's a very large selection of dog treats both healthy and non. Their selection of toys are pretty large, but we almost never see anything for big chewers.Apart from that, we hope to see more options for highest level of chewers in both snacks and toys in the future.

I went to this location to look at the Guinea pigs for my child. I found a Hispanic male employee by the fish section to help me and he started telling me about Guinea pigs which was helpful but then he started showing me the hamsters and telling me their names and he showed 3 teddy bear hamsters and said the names but one of the names he said was “hepa-titis” which is completely unprofessional.I don't know what kind of sick joke that was but it was not funny and is a serious disease and not something that should be joked about.

I have made a switch from other pet stores to this Petco in Annandale This is the best Petco store helpful staff, especially Jeremy the aquatic specialist he has so much knowledge and he’s very helpful, and the the staff is super friendly and helpful but definitely have Jeremy help you if you’re looking for anything that has to do with aquariums. You will love going there and just looking at the different aquariums They’re unlike anything I’ve seen in any other store.

I’ll start with the fact that I love having Petco so close to home. However, if it weren’t for my son really wanting the fish I would not purchased anything there. I won’t recall the name of the employee that I had an issue with, since this is a public review. I will follow up with the store manager though. This was my 2nd time today, entering the store waiting for someone to acknowledge & assist me, since I saw that everyone else was approached with no hesitation. When I finally asked for assistance, the cashier asked my age to ensure that I was over 18. I was sure there was reason for this, but it was a little annoying since my son & I were literally holding 2 fish, a tank, and rocks. I understand the phrase that “black don’t crack,” but under 18?? I’m like 30. After responding to her, she looks at my items and ask if I had room for a bigger tank to get one fish. I told her that I was fine with the divider tank for us to purchase 2 beta fish for now. Well, she still insisted that I wait for assistance from the other employee that was busy helping another customer. I finally got the help I needed, but I definitely didn’t feel comfortable & as if my business wasn’t appreciated. ALSO, it’s not like I was “carded” to prove my age at the register.
