So my wife and I were on our way home from NC and decided to take the Non-Highway/Motorcycle Route and found a Fantastic Little Restaurant!! At first we weren't sure if we were at the right place but we were so Glad we did! It's not real big inside but seats about 25 people and it was Very Busy and the Staff was so Nice, Service was Excellent, Reasonable Prices! So we asked our Waitress what was Good and she said Wings and Burgers are our biggest sellers so my wife and I both got the Wings ( Definitely Top 5 Best Wings We've Ever Tasted) , We Got Fries(Perfectly Cooked) and Hushpuppies(Also Delicious). So The Filling Station will definitely be a stop on our way south or if we decide to take a 5 hr ride on the bike for wings!! Remember to Never Judge a Book by its Cover and that goes for Restaurants too! So Glad We Stopped at The Filling Station!!

The food here is PHENOMENAL. I got a chili dog with sauerkraut and mustard, upon the recommendation of the waitress. My brother got the Chili Thai wings. Both were delicious 😊 Probably some of the best wings I've had in this area.Everyone is incredibly friendly, both the staff and other people eating. Everyone was so great. I met one of the previous owners who said that the vision behind the creation of The Filling Station was to be more than a convenient store, to be different. They sure did execute on their mission.If you're in the area, this is definitely a local favorite. Try it once and you will understand why.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We stopped here on our way back from our trip down the Sky Road and Shenandoah State Park, we were excited to do so as we had checked over places to eat on our drive back to GA. Whilst we were treated initially quiet well by the first server who gave us menus, we were overlooked by the second server not once but twice. My wife and child had informed me what they wanted and whilst I waited at the table to give my order I was ignored for other people who had just walked in. It’s possibly that we’re not local but it was extremely rude to be ignored and overlooked, a simple hello or would you like something to drink etc would’ve sufficed but instead the server just ignored us. I will say from my observation the initial server was pleasant and the Irish looking chef evidently took pride in his/their work so for that and the fact I didn’t get to taste the food I’ll give the two stars. I’m an easy person to please, you can tell by my previous reviews! It’s simple stuff folks, just lose the attitudes and make people feel like you care at least!

Wow the food is amazing!! Awesome selection of beers. I just moved this way from the SW and had my first ever fried green tomatoes, WOW. Where have these been all my life?! They were perfect! The staff here is super awesome and friendly. This is my new favorite spot.

Cheesy western’s Texas toast, yellow relish, bacon, cheese, and burger was oh so good. But enough for two. We enjoyed the service and casual atmosphere inside a long-standing gas station.

Stopped in for some burgers and wings after a baseball game. Service was friendly and fast. Unique atmosphere of a converted 1950's style gas station to a trendy styled pub. Reasonable prices and quality ingredients. I had a double cheese burger with grilled onions, seasoned fries, and fried pickles. Had a basket of hot wings for the table that were crispy and delicious. Plenty of beers on tap. Definitely worth checking it out.

Needed to pump gas and grab a quick bite, to my surprise, there was a restaurant inside of this little gas station, ordered a couple of burgers and chicken tenders, food was great, took a bit but worth the wait. Have a huge selection of beers as well.

The atmosphere is homey and the employees are down to earth, friendly folks from the area that know their customers. The food is always freshly cooked with care. Portions and prices are generous and reasonable. The waitress took time to be nice to my daughter and took a photo of her for Facebook. This is a great destination or planned lunch / dinner stop for a day trip. Rt60 is a nice, scenic drive and not far from the blue ridge parkway.

Great place if you want to wait a long time. Called in an hour, arrived 20 minutes later(when they said it would be ready) then had to wait an additional 35 minutes for a burger and fries. I will never go to this place again

Updating my review. The past 6 months the food takes forever to come out. And it's more expensive now than some other sit-down options around town. There is also limited seating so sometimes it's too crowded to accommodate our family of five.____The food is delicious and the atmosphere is trendy/nice! Seating is limited during busy hours. The burgers, fries, homemade potato chips, fried pickles/jalepenos - all fresh and delicious! Best beer selection around. Bike rack out front makes it easy to enjoy the bike lanes around town with the family and stop in here for a break! Kid-friendly.

This is one of the best places to grab a bite to eat in Amherst. I’m no regular but I have been coming here for a while and have never been disappointed. The burgers are great and the dogs are pretty good too. A pretty good variety of options are offered in the menu or you can choose to build your own. They always have some fresh local beer on tap and growlers to go if needed. The staff here has always been attentive and never let you go without. If your in the area this is a great spot to grab a quick bite to eat.

Took my son to The Filling Station in Amherst yesterday. We went early before the dinner rush and was glad because it can become packed. He got a chili cheese hot dog, I got a double cheese burger with bacon, and we split a basket of fries. We both really enjoyed the food and service was great. After Sids is Mad Hts closes well probably be visiting The Filling Station more often.

Went in for quick to go meal. We got a cheeseburger and BBQ plate. The food was hot and tasted good. Staff was friendly. The only complaint was no salt on fries. We had left before we realized and I didn't have salt in the truck. Not a huge deal though. We will certainly eat here again when traveling through!

Love this place for what it is. They’re not trying to be fancy, but they level up the restaurant-in-gas-station experience. Nice beer selection, both on tap and bottles and cans. Good basic pub food - burgers, fried goodness, etc. Friendly owners and staff.

My dad and I go hunting down here on our friend’s property. One time before leaving Stafford, my dads friend told us about this gas station in Amherst that makes good burgers. We came and tried it out back in November and we’re very impressed. We visited our second time in December and the owner came by and introduced himself. Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere and probably the best burgers I’ve had on the road! That Carolina burger was delicious. Also enjoyed their fried green tomatoes and onion rings. Can’t wait to come back!

Great burgers and fries! Nice cozy place. They have a few tables and chairs and a bar area you can sit at to eat. They do various sandwiches, Ice cream, snacks, pop, water, and beer...and they also sell gasoline. Everything you need when your on the road. We stopped there once with a convoy of 15 vehicles and completely crowded the place. The folks there provided extremely friendly service and great food!! I wouldn't hesitate to stop at The Filling Station again the next time I'm in the area.

Esso station converted to a pub & grub spot. Externally, not much to look at. Once inside, you’re greeted by a bar with a great selection of beers on tap, and a menu with just enough choices. I had the pulled pork with Carolina style bbq sauce, cole slaw (finely chopped & not sweet) & fries with Cajun seasoning. The meat was perfect, having been flipped on the grill for a nice crispy char, and the fries were cooked just right (crispy on the outside & tender in the middle.). Several choices of seasonings for the fries, too.

We went bicycle riding on the Piney River rail- trail. Afterwards I looked up reviews of local restaurants in the Amherst area. We are from Lexington and hadn’t been over to this area before. The great reviews were compelling so we made our way to The Filling Station.What a great meal and wonderful staff! This is definitely not fast food but with a great beer selection time passed pleasantly. When my patty melt and my husband’s fried chicken sandwich came with the hottest fresh French fries we’ve ever had we were delighted! Great food and atmosphere and very reasonable prices. Extremely clean surroundings and everyone working there masked appropriately . Will definitely return.

The burgers are top notch, as well as the staff. Friendly, helpful, and take care of you from start to finish. Definitely recommend this to everyone, and will definitely be going back myself.
