I have had the most amazing experience with Debbie and the team at Paws and Claws. Finding myself in a very difficult spot and needing boarding for my four cats at very short notice they were able to work with me and accommodate. My life was up in the air and I was desperate to do all I could to keep my fur family together during this difficult period.To say the team there were guardian angels would be an understatement. They went above and beyond to take care of, help and support me and the cats during their stay, what they did to ensure that I was reunited with the cats… was priceless. They are all now with me in the UK, all together again, in no small part thanks to the love and kindness of this team. I am forever grateful!

Phil and Debbie are wonderful people and always baby my big, spoiled hound dog! They have a great set up for the dogs so that they have both personal space and outside space to run around and play. They keep cats as well. Your pets will be well cared for at Paws and Claws!

Our two dogs have stayed there twice now. They seem right at home in their surroundings. Love the access to the outdoor play area. Everyone who works there is caring and it shows when we drop off and pickup our happy pets.

Paws and Claws is the very best home for our pets. I call it a home because this facility is unlike any other kennel I've been too. They are loving, concern for the pet as well as the owners feelings, they give the pets their own sleeping space and a nice run space which they run the animals several times each day. You can't go wrong leaving your pets at Paws and Claws also very affordable. Thank you Paws and Claws for the piece of mind on our vacation.

Paws and Claws is like a summer camp or resort for your pets! This was our first time boarding our dogs there. I was so happy I found them. It is a family owned farm and boarding facility (dogs,cats,birds etc). They are the nicest people and very knowledgeable and experienced. The facility is clean and very organized. I am very particular about where I board my dogs. This gave me the peace of mind I needed to be able to go away and enjoy my vacation.They have all the amenities your pet will love and even play soothing music and essential oils at night. They send you a video of your pet playing outside in the huge fenced area every day. They request that you come for a visit with your pet on a day prior to boarding and let your pet explore and get all the info about your pet.Please check out the pawsandclaws website.It is in Amherst Va which is about 30 minutes away for me but worth the drive. Please check them out. You and your fur babies will love them!

This was our first time using Paws n Claws for boarding our dog and I will say that we are extremely happy with Debbie and staff! She is super friendly, prompt responses, and most importantly great with our dog! Super flexible and affordable, but knowing that our fur baby was in good hands is priceless! This was the first time our two dogs have ever been boarded. These guys here are fabulous. They were absolutely wonderful with our dogs. We were gone for 7 days and not once did we worry about our babies. They sent pictures and videos of our guys everyday while we were away. We highly recommend this place!Debbie truly cares and wants the best for your 4 legged kiddos. She was extremely accommodating and understanding when it came to our dogs needs. No extra charge for distributing meds was a plus! This place came highly recommended by another dog boarding in the area that wasn't the best fit for one of my dogs, and I'm so glad we chose them. Our dogs were happy, healthy and clean! They usually get overwhelmed and stressed- but at Paws and Claws Amherst they ate all their food, got to play and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.If you want a loving and caring environment for your 4 legged kiddos, don't look any further and give Debbie a call. Excellent, affordable, attentive & extremely clean. Deb and Phil sent videos, emails and text throughout our vacation to reassure "my" separation anxiety that she was just fine. Wonderful transition from home to kennel process with "drop-off/pick-up" times in place to limit stress on pets. Each kennel features indoor (temperature controlled) with an attached outdoor covered fence for each pup. Also, in the inside kennel area lavender is expressed and light music is played for calming. Kennels are also equipped with thin curtains to cover the doors to eliminate barking at each other and added stress. All of this is monitored with cameras. This facility is truly dedicated to lessening the stress on the pet first then the pet owner, which "is" the key to their success. Book early!!! These guys stay full. I highly recommend them. I will always bring Fancy to Uncle Phil and Aunt Deb's. She doesn't just jump in anyone's lap for morning love. Just her Dad! Nor do most people welcome a full blooded chow-chow to do that either. If you can not connect with the people keeping your pet as her family then your pet should not be there.A big sloppy kiss from Fancy Lucy Price and another big Thank you again from Kevin and Gena Price!

Debbie and Phil were absolutely wonderful! It was our first time boarding our dog Lincoln for a long period and we boarded him for 11 nights at Paws and Claws while we went on vacation. We were nervous boarding him for the first time for so many nights, but thanks to Debbie and Phil and their wonderful care, he was right at home!! They cared for our fur baby like he was theirs! He had such a blast playing frisbee, had tons of outdoor time, and received lots of love! He already misses staying with Debbie and Phil at Paws and Claws! We have been boarding our 80 lb., male pit bull with Debbie and Phil for several years now. There’s really no other place I would want him to stay. The genuine love and concern they have for their own pets filters over to our Ruger. He runs right in without hesitation and is smiling when we return. Having him on their property with someone around everyday for more than a just a walk or potty break is so reassuring to us. The facility just had an update/renovation to the inside boarding, each has a covered outside run and now the outside play area’s have been enlarged with new fencing, too. Our guy requires his playtime alone and that’s no problem, either. Whatever your special need is they’ll do their best to accommodate. Ruger even gets his pjs put on at bedtime. 😊 100% satisfied every time we use them.

Debby was very professional and friendly making the arrangements for our pup’s stay. She was flexible with our drop off time due to our travel plans. When we got there, she showed us his living quarters for the weekend. Clean and comfortable space with an outdoor run where he could use the bathroom any time. Debby and her husband took good care of our lab and we’ll use them again when in the area. I have no hesitation in recommending Paws and Claws.

I found this place on Google, but then also discovered that good friends have relied on it for quite a while. The owners treat their boarders like their own beloved pets! Their property is set up for comfort but also safety, for example with double-fenced outdoor spaces, and motion sensors to alert the owners immediately of anything amiss. My dog was very comfortable here, and I would highly recommend it to others. I also saw quite a few cats staying, and they seemed very content, playing happily or snoozing and relaxed. They were absolutely flexible on pickup and drop off, and communication was easy and prompt. It's such a comfort to have a high quality boarding option nearby for my four legged family members!

I had to put my dogs and cat here and they were so well taken care of. My larger dog Is a very sensitive dog and has a bit of high anxiety and is a little fearful of new things and people but After a couple days he was so well adjusted doing fantastic and the owner contacted me daily on his progress. He soon became very relaxed being in here and MY anxiety was gone! I would recommend this place over any other place for boarding my animals. My animals were treated just as if they were their own pets and unlike other boarding they are let out more then 2 times a day for play and potty into a fenced in yard!

Debbie is an unparalleled caretaker who treats the animals as her own! My father's dog was dropped off at Paws & Claws due to his unexpected passing. It was clear the pup was distressed from the situation and Debbie went out of her way to give him personalized love & attention until we could pick him up. She also gave us tips to help him feel comfortable during this tough transition. It is obvious that she truly cares for the welfare of the animals who stay with her. The owner was very responsive when I sent an inquiry about price, availability, and the details of boarding. This was the first time we were boarding our dog so we had a few questions. The owner made herself available for a tour of the facility and a meet and greet with our dog to make sure it would be a good fit for him. Debbie is terrific!! We have a hound mix (super sweet but challenging) that is new to our family and had never been boarded before. Needless to say we were worried about how he was going to react to such unfamiliar surroundings. Debbie sent us text updates and pictures throughout the week, which eased our worries! They took such great care of him, this is the only place our Maverick will stay when we are away❤️

This is THE best place I've ever left my dog, and I'm very particular! Debbie and her whole family met us when we left our dog. He's usually very anxious when we board him, but he acted like he owned the place from the start. The daily updates and photos made it clear that he was enjoying his vacation as much as I enjoyed mine. He was pampered and happy!
