For those taking Vyvanse or Adderall, unfortunately they never have it in stock here, so you will either have to go without it for a while not knowing when they will get it or pick it up at a pharmacy like Hometown Pharmacy in Madison Heights .This isn't the staff's fault though. On the plus side, I've never had any problems with the staff. Everyone I've spoke to has been helpful, nice and they do all they can.Please everyone be kind and patient with the pharmacy staff! Luckily there's still nice staff working at this CVS and they deserve more appreciation. They deal with a whole lot of blame for things they don't have control over.

I called in at 9:00 a.m. to get a prescription transferred from another pharmacy. I was told that as soon as the other pharmacy responded the prescription would be filled in 30 minutes. 2 hours later I contacted the other pharmacy and they said that they had received no request for prescription transfer. I went to the CVS pharmacy in Amherst pretending to pick up my prescription and they said that the other pharmacy hadn't responded yet. And I said, " kind of hard to fill a prescription transfer when you've never called to initiate it."So unfortunately it seems like their default response is to blame somebody else before doing their work themselves. Another 15 minutes down the road and the Walmart pharmacy Madison Heights will save you lots of frustration.

They can't keep my meds in stock they never have anything ready on time I wouldn't recommend using them at all drive the extra miles to another cvs that's for sure

My sister Germaine Crites lives here and loves coming to the Amherst CVS. She says they are always helpful, knowledgeable and kind. They go out of their way to help her. Kudos to these folks willing to work in this economy.

I always find what I need here and I love the coupons!! I always get my toiletries and vitamins here because it. Not to mention, the friendly and professional service. :-) They're always there to help especially when using the print in seconds Kodak phot machine. Of course, this CVS has a pharmacy, but I am fortunate to have good health and haven't had to use, but the Pharmacist has helped me with questions about men's health vitamins and I was truly grateful. Overall, this CVS gets the A+ rating. :-) Cheers.

You get text messages that your prescription is ready and go there and it isn't. When you are sick you really don't feel like running back up there. They told me one day it would be ready in 30 minutes. I told her I'd be back in 3 hours. Went back and it wasn't ready. Its very frustrating. My mother in law needed her meds tonight. The doctors office sent the prescriptions over. 4 hours later and they weren't ready.

Pharmacy is rude and incompetent. Don’t fill your prescription until you arrive to pickup and have miscounted pills resulting in inadequate medication coverage. Staff is too busy playing around with each other to do their job.

The pharmacy has become adversarial, condescending and rude under the leadership of the pharmacy manager, who has pathetic communication skills and has no business dealing with the public. DO NOT complain about service or you will be BANNED FROM THE PHARMACY as I have been following a conversation with the manager. BANNED from getting my medicine because I complained to the manager about the poor service, contradictory information, lack of follow up, and general lackadaisical attitude on the part of the staff. I have never encountered such persistent, frustrating indifference on the part of a supposed health care professional. I don't know how this person is in charge of a department or other people.

Worst CVS I've ever been to. I scheduled an appointment for a 2nd booster shot and just as I was leaving home for the appointment, I received and email the appointment was canceled. Rescheduled for Saturday May 14th and get there 15 minutes early only to find the pharmacy closed due to an emergency. With these emergencies happening so often, maybe they should consider closing permanently 🤔

Update: I was in a bad car accident, went to the ER and they sent over meds there only because my car is totaled and I can't go elsewhere. The pharmacy would not fill the pain meds that were sent to themThey said they can interact with one of my other meds. I mean seriously my car just hit an embankment and flipped and your saying take Tylenol. I just don't understand how they can over rule your Dr.Worst pharmacy ever. I was trying to get one of my medications filled early and this pharmacist told me that I had to have my Dr. OK it. So I jump through hurdles and my Dr. Calls and tells them that because of an acute illness it's OK to get it early. So I called CVS back after she did that and I was told no they were not going to fill it. This medication is for nausea it's not a controlled substance. The pharmacist had no compassion what so ever. I explained I had been vomiting for the past 3 days. I won't be getting my prescriptions at this pharmacy anymore. I had my script transferred to Walgreens and they filled it no problem. Shame on you CVS!!!

Every time l need to pick up a prescription it is never ready. Will always be 20 or 30 minutes before it is available. I have to drive 15 miles to get there from my home. Extremely frustrated with this pharmacy but nothing better close to my home.

If I could give zero stars I would. Because I ordered two separate orders of 5 5x7 photos, both orders the exact same size and photos, and forgot to put the 50% off online code for one of the orders but the clerk said he couldn't and wouldn't take the 50% off for the set of photos I forgot to put the code on for. Pathetic customer service on what should have been an easy fix. And they had a couple extra photos from someone else in there.

We have been getting our script filled with CVS for the longest & have always had good experiences however this last interaction was a bit frustrating. I was advised by Ryan that my insurance wouldnt cover my son script that we have been getting filling for years. He advised that I would have to reach out to the insurance and file an appeal. The wait time to file an appeal was ridiculous, I spent 3 days of my lunch break on hold to get this resolved, as well as time reaching out to the doctors office etc. On day 4 I went a different route and was able to speak to a representative who advised it was a simple case of the preauthorization expiring & all Ryan had to do was submit a request to the doctors office. I spent hours working to resolve a simple issue that he could have submitted in a matter of minutes as part of his job description. This was extremely frustrating to find out. I am not writing this to cause any trouble. It may be something he just didn’t know but needs to be trained on. I don’t know the situation on Ryan behalf however I work 2 jobs & am expected to know my role and I am held accountable if incorrect information is provided. I would hope this gets into the hands of someone who can work with Ryan to assure this doesn’t happen to someone else. Thank you for taking the time to hear my concerns and address this issue.

We have come to this pharmacy to pick up prescriptions in the middle of the afternoon and the pharmacy is closed due to someone having an emergency two days in a row. Another time we called in advance to confirm store hours and was told the pharmacy closes at 9 and when we arrived at 701 pm we were refused service as the pharmacy closed at 7 pm.

On two separate occasions I was given EXPIRED pills from the pharmacy! How was this missed during regular expiration date checks, then by the tech, then the pharmacist?

The pharmacy is extremely slow and occasionally loses your prescriptions. They have very limited hours and are only open until 6pm on Sundays. Very understaffed.

Not very friendly at the pharmacy rude staff and seem to not care about you. Worst customer service ever. This place needs to be put out of business and a Walgreens or mom and pop pharmacy replace them.

I went there on Wednesday, 5/18for a covid test, was told I would get results texted to me 24 to 48 hours later, 6 days later STILL NO RESULTS....only a message that says results are PENDING and to check back later.....SERIOUSLY.......so if there was a NEGATIVE rating, that is what I would rate them.

Probably the worst, slowest and rudest CVS store I’ve experienced in the US. I only go to this store because it’s the only one in the area. The pharmacy staff is especially rude.

I went in to CVS today to buy a charger and look around at the hair dye and the manager thought I was stealing some foundation when I was looking for one that matches my skin tone and she told me to "leave her store" never shopping there again!!! 😤

I arrived there at 730. Their store hours show them open till 10. I guess they just decided business hours don't matter. The door was locked and the staff waited for myself and another customer to walk away before they left the store.
