I hadc2 separate orders an hour apart. The gentleman who brought my items out was nice & enough to check. I was able to get both orders in one trip! Very convenient

Pickup orders constantly being ruined. They choose random items to say “unavailable” only for me to go inside EVERY time, and see a full shelf stocked full of what they just told me is unavailable. This has been happening for over a year now. Pathetic customer service pathetic pickup system just a pathetic store all around. Walmart needs to close this location due to the lack of operational consistency between this store and others in Lynchburg. It’s night and day. Like most things in altavista, I’m sure it’ll close sooner than later.

Shopping there is easy, the employees are nice and helpful. I use self checkout which goes smoothly for me.

I like this store because it has everything that I want and need. Being older, I like the size store because I can find everything I need without extra walking as with the larger stores. I like the fact that it seems to be the only Walmart that I can find GV whole wheat hot dog buns.Great store. Always clean and neat. The associates are friendly. Always a good shopping experience. AMEDING REVIEW FEB,2024. WARNING. DO NOT BUY AND TRY TO EXHANGE A PHONE.Basically, what I thought was going to be an upgrade to my phone.Cost me approximately 3 times the amount, plus ended up having to pay for a phone that the phone company said that they never got back.. I did not get the plan I thought that I was getting. So more money , which this senior citizen, on fixed income, could not afford.

I have 4 kids, 2 dogs, & a big extended family so I am frequently in & out of our local Walmart often. Due to my school, work, & home schedule I am usually there an hour before closing which can upset some people if there shift is ending, but these girls that run the 2nd shift there are always so positive & polite. They are smiling & carrying on a conversation, & they are always so helpful, they never rush me out the door (even though I am usually running trying to get out there way or to get home) they just smile & tell me to take my time & ask is it anything they can help with. So thank you guys & keep up the good work you guys you are doing an awesome job!!!!

Just like all Walmarts, not very helpful, you can tell their help is underpaid because you have to chase down someone to help you find products and several do not know their products.

Walmart Supercenter located in Altavista Virginia has an excellent selection of arts and crafts supplies for every child age to enjoy for the summer. And don't forget the swimwear and summer sandals.

I love a good thought out trip to Walmart. I try to go with my list and stick to it. Today I was entranced by the sirens call of the 40 volt Hart 14in chain saw. The 5 ah batteries were on clearance so I picked up a couple of those too. My problems with Walmart are that one when I asked for help in the pharmacy for finding something I was just directed back to the aisle I was in. I had to look up on my phone to make sure it was in stock. Then spent another five minutes turning bottles around on the shelf to find it. My second problem is that there was only one human being checking people out. Devon was a very nice guy and able to keep his sense of humor about it. This is not a gripe about Devon, he was wonderful.Walmart is getting such bad press about how customers are tired of working for Walmart, but that's what we are doing if we have to level shelves trying to find what we are hoping to buy, or taking the chance of being arrested for using self check out lanes.

Love this Walmart and a good selection of items, more so than other Walmart’s. The fueling station is wonderful and clean, however you can’t see it on the maps as a gas and diesel station which it is.

Why does this store not stock the same items as all the other walmarts in Lynchburg? Very disappointing and costly that you have to run all over Campbell, Amherst, Bedford counties and Lynchburg to find items you want or need. Not worth getting walmart+ if you can't get all the services, like delivery. Why should I pay the same price and not get all the benefits as others get???I will say I have no problems with the pharmacy or the staff in the store, it's just the products they do not carry but every other store in the state has.

Altavista store is one of the best I am finding. The associates are eager to help and ask to help. They are knowledgeable and caring. Steve in the painting/ automotive area really came to my rescue and I’m so thankful for his help.

Can I give this place negative stars. Like a -1000. Horrible attitude. Stood on electronics for 15 minutes after I paid for 2 things because the young man couldn’t get help to remove the electronic theft device. They way I was talked to was unbelievable. I stopped coming here 3 years ago and I won’t ever be returning. Target and Amazon will be it. I was told no manager was on duty. Tried to call for 2 days and was hung up several times when I said I needed a manager

Store was clean, not too busy. Tire service department and assistant manager can do well with customer service training. 55,000 mile tires, after 22,000 of proper maintenance, are no longer "safe enough to rotate and balance"..? No proration, just "contact Goodyear for service." 6 sets of tires, on 5 different cars, over 12 years, I'll not be buying anymore from Walmart.. and I'll stop recommending anyone from purchasing tires there, also.

Great location so you don’t have to drive all the way to Lynchburg. Staff could be more friendly. Personal shoppers are the worst. They put the carts in the middle of the aisles. You can’t get through. They leave them to go on another aisle. They get rude if you try to say excuse me because they are in the way. Very unprofessional

It's starting to get better but most of the employees are still rude and have no manners. But, the one guy who stocks the meat, he's a really nice and friendly gentleman, but the whole crew could stand a remedial class in customer service and customer engagement.

My husband and I used their diesel in which we had to siphon it out because it was contaminated and cause our truck to run poorly. We called to info them not complain and we weren’t assisted in the least! Please do not go there for your diesel it’s not worth the cheap price!!
