I'm so glad we saw the sign and stopped in. Cute little bar and restaurant. We didn't drink any alcohol since driving a long distance, but we did get some food. We ordered a sampler plate, which was amazing. Chicken strips, the heavenly, and the club. All amazing. Great food, great service, and atmosphere. Even has a little bar area for kids with toys and tablets. So cute

Recommended by the hotel staff. What an awesome little restaurant and local joint. This would be my local hang out. Definitely the Cheers of this small town. Everyone knows each other but welcome everyone in and be treated like old friends instantly. The staff is awesome and Jackie behind the bar is the best! Family friendly too with plenty of outside seating. If you weren’t looking for it, you’d miss it and you will miss out by not stopping here! Stop in, great food, staff, and plenty of cold local beers!

I stopped here almost by accident with my two boys (ages 10, 3.5) because it was lunch time and there was a sign on the highway . I had no idea what to expect, but—WOW!—was I in for a really pleasant surprise and an overall great pit stop.PROS: Large and diverse sandwich menu with a surprisingly high number of fish options, all very reasonably priced. I had the mahi sandwich, which was made to perfection, perfectly seasoned and served on a toasted bun with homemade tartar sauce. There also was a kids menu, which, to my surprise, had cod nuggets and fries. The cod was breaded and seemed like it came out of a packet frozen, but at least it was something different than the usual chicken tenders, chicken nuggets, etc., both of which also were on the menu. The service was super friendly with multiple staff members engaging my sons repeatedly.If you are a beer lover, this is definitely a good spot. Huge selection, including local brews. I didn’t imbibe, but I was impressed with what I saw. The place struck me as a place where people know their beer.CONS: very few. The bathrooms were old and kinda grungy.Overall, we enjoyed Good food, friendly service, and really funky, eclectic decor that just worked. What a find! I wish we didn’t live three hours away because,If I lived closer, I would definitely be back often.Kid-friendliness: Bench along window full of old toys, telephones, etc. The littles, especially, will love it! There is also a large and rather sad-looking fish tank in the back corner that the kiddos can admire.

Two Sisters is a nice addition to the Altavista lunch scene. I’ve been three times and the food is always solid. Burgers, sandwiches, the usual suspects. Some dishes are better executed than others but nothing was a deal breakerWe’ve only been for food but it’s worth noting they have a wide selection of beers on tap and in the coolers so this is a good option to have a few rounds and a burger

We just moved to the area and wanted some decent food. Boy, were we surprised at how good the food was! Chloe, our server, was super helpful, and we even were able to eat outside for covid safety since I'm high risk.Great atmosphere, great beer selection (and my husband is a picky Michigander), and great food. We will be back!Kid-friendliness: There's a whole kid table with toys and such. So good!

We arrived to have lunch with family (7 people) The lady behind the counter looked at me and said there wasn’t room and she didn’t know when she would get to us. The lady then shook her head and walked away like we were a complete inconvenience.If you are looking for a place for lunch I’d avoid this place.Our family ended up going to the Main Street Cafe where they treated us with kindness and great food.

Great place to grab lunch and an ice cold craft beer. They had a wide variety of quality craft beer from near and far. The menu is diverse and our sandwiches and wings were very good. The gal at the bar was awesome.

Deli and a small convenience store. Free parking, restrooms, friendly service. Several combo meals available, also appetizers and sandwiches. Excellent artisan beer selection which is very expensive. Food items are reasonably priced. All name brand beer in coolers is OFF PREMISES ONLY. We had fish and shrimp combo, fries, coleslaw for $10. Food was very good.

Awesome food, great beer. Friendly staff. I really enjoyed lunch there. Only thing I didn’t care for was Newsmax on the TV showing pro-Trump propaganda for my entire stay but it’s small town VA, so, I ignored it. 5/5 would eat there again.Features: No social distancing, no masks. Pretty much was a pre-pandemic visit.

Had a meeting in the area stopped in to eat, very friendly and a cute little down to earth spot to get lunch. The food was incredible!! I got the BBQ plate with slaw and beans, some of the best pulled BBQ I've had in a long time and the beans were amazing! Not to mention it was alot of food I had plenty of leftover BBQ and slaw, couldn't help but eat all the beans!! Check this place out!

Awesome place! Lots of good local crafts on tap. The food is very well prepared and superior to what you typically think of in a deli. The wood smoke fills the air and staff are welcoming and friendly. I will be returning when work brings me close.

Excellent sandwiches with quality ingredients and great flavor. Staff was friendly and helpful and the food came out fresh and fast. This is an excellent place to stop for lunch, but on cooler days there is limited space indoors so it can be a bit crowded. They also have a great beer selection with plenty of local offerings to consume on site or purchase for the road.

The store/restaurant was really cute, kinda nostalgic. The food was, well bland. My burger was more like a wad of meat pressed down to make a burger. Had no shape. Had a good hunk of bacon on it though. But it lacked flavor. The hodgepodge was good, too much zucchini and not near enough mushrooms. I think we got maybe 7 or 8. The ranch seemed a bit thin to me as well. Grilled cheese was okay, and I actually ate the pickle. Overall for 2 meals and the hodgepodge with 4 drinks was $45. Definitely not a great meal. But it beat going hungry. I'm a stickler for good service, which they did have. Maybe I'll try to eat in next time. 🤷

A very pleasant and somewhat unexpected find in rural south-central Virginia. More beers on tap than I ever imagined. Good food. The locally sourced pimento cheese was great, as was the BBQ. The hodgepodge is a great starter for 1-4 people.The atmosphere is more Charlottesville than Appomattox and there's a toy table/section to keep kids entertained too.It's .5 mile off of US-29 and not a lot of road traffic. There is also outdoor seating.
