Our entire experience at The K-9 Academy was truly amazing! During our private lessons Ronnie not only trained our dog but trained us as well giving us plenty of tips for ongoing training at home. On day one, Ronnie had Theo walking on a leash properly instead of pulling or biting it. With Ronnie’s expert training and the tools provided to us, we have a completely different dog. He’s still our happy, playful pup, but now listens to our commands instead of completely ignoring us. He now returns when called, which is a major accomplishment. Theo walks perfectly with the prong collar and the e-collar, I must say, is my favorite training tool. We continue to work with him daily to reinforce commands and good behavior. His jumping when excited has almost completely stopped and he’s bringing the ball back and dropping it. On the last day of training we took him to a local pet store, and he behaved perfectly. That was a first!Last year we used a local trainer who specialized in behavioral training and while this approach might be great for some, our pup continued to act like an obnoxious three-year old child. So, if you want a well-behaved, obedient dog, we highly recommend Ronnie at The K-9 Academy. We were impressed with the entire facility. It is spacious, well organized, and extremely clean and we plan to use their other services in the future. Thank you, Ronnie, and staff, for everything!

We’ve had our lab pup, Cajun, enrolled in doggy daycare since the program started and are so thankful for the convenience of the shuttle. Also, it’s pretty fun to say you have to drop off and pick up your dog from the bus. 😂 Cajun comes home each day tired and wakes up the next morning eager to go back! Prior to daycare, we were forced to crate him while we worked. This has been a huge game changer to allow him to get his energy out during the day and to relieve us of feeling guilty for him being crated long hours. We also get a break from endless play in the evenings. I am very particular about my dogs and I can confidently say I trust Ronnie, Ashley, and their crew wholeheartedly. Everyone is so friendly and Ashley is on top of all email communication — anytime I’ve had a question or needed something, she responds quickly.We also recently completed the 10-Day Day-Train for Cajun. This was one of the best investments we could have made to set Cajun up for success going forward. We learned a lot as owners as well. It hasn’t even been a week since completion, but we’ve noticed such a difference. He used to jerk me on a leash, and now we can successfully walk with a loose leash. I can confidently say I feel like we finally have control rather than him having control over us.I truly have so much appreciation them for working long hours without many days off to care for all the pups and I will always recommend the K-9 Academy to anyone looking for daycare or training!

I took my Dalmatian to the K9 Academy for training since my puppy is full of energy. After completing her 11 day program she is a brand new dog and I couldn’t be happier about how much she learned. Also she smelled so good after her grooming session!Everyone in the facility were super nice and made me feel comfortable leaving pup under their care. I highly recommend anyone to sign up their dogs for any of the many classes they offer!

We had our 6 month old pup stay for board and training and it has made a whirl of difference. The facility is extremely clean and organized. The staff is so friendly, welcoming and does a great job updating you throughout the entire process from beginning to end. Ronnie and his staff are expertise at what they do! It has made spending time with our pup enjoyable for everyone in the household. Thank you for giving our pup the incredible foundation he will take with him throughout the rest of his life. We have been using The K9 Academy since September 2023 when Teddy first went for his Board & Train stay for 10 days. Ronnie and his staff went above and beyond in communication with us and updating on Teddy’s progress while he was there. We were very pleased with the outcome and Human Training when we arrived to pick him up. We have since used The K9 Academy for Teddy’s groomings. Anna is fantastic and Teddy is always excited to hop in the car to see her. We are on an every 2 week rotation and have been very happy with our services.Teddy is an almost year old GoldenDoodle.

My wife and I would like to just say thank you to Ronnie and K9 Academy for the work they did with our pup. Our husky was giving us such a hard time for awhile to the point where he would show teeth and would even try to bite us, as well as others we brought into our home. We were recommended to K9 academy by a family friend and we are so glad we came! He is a completely different dog now and Ronnie really did a phenomenal job empowering us as owners. Not only do we have a better life, but our husky, Rev, has a better life! We recommend K9 Academy to anyone who's having issues with their dogs. You won't regret it. The customer service to work with our schedules was amazing. Some of the best money we've spent! Thank you!

We have loved our groomer here for quite awhile. Most recently our dog Sully completed a board and train. He had some bad crate aggression which we couldn't seem to correct at home. This problem was fixed pretty fast.The facility is clean and the staff is professional but what I love most about the K9 Academy is the way they communicate with you prior to, during, and after board and train. Sully is still his goofy fun self but listens and has better self-control in most all situations. 10/10 recommend this investment.

I enrolled my 8 month old GSP in the training classes at K-9 Acadamy. Ronnie was great with me and Kimber. She picked up the reading very quickly. Ronnie’s knowledge was exceptional and this made for easy training of both me and Kimber. I highly recommend this training if you would like for your dog to obey your commands.

To say The k9 Academy was amazing is an understatement! They were recommended to us by numerous friends and I can say that it is 100% worth every penny!We took our 5 month old Dutch Shepherd to be trained which is typically a stubborn and high energy breed. Thor is our shop dog at Hometown Finds so we wanted to make sure that he would be perfect around the customers (no jumping, running around, etc.) The difference only 11 days made was astonishing!Not only do they take the time to train your pup, they take the time to love on your pup like they are their own and they play with them throughout the day. You don't have to worry about your pups being stuck in a kennel all day and you can sleep easy knowing that the facility is clean and very well thought out. When picking up, they ensure you have every tool you need to keep up the training and they are always there for any questions.Those that know me know I am super peculiar about my pups so it was so nice not to have to worry.Also, when you aren't boarding or training your pups, be sure to get them groomed! Thor came home clean and super soft plus smelling amazing!

Ronnie and the team at the K-9 Academy are so impressive! We came to them from DC because we met another dog who had been trained by them and were VERY impressed. The drop off was smooth and seamless and includes a full tour of their facility as well as conversation to address any additional concerns. While we were apart we had regular updates from the K-9 Academy through their social media as well as through text. They really care about the whole dog at this place. After a hard day's work, they even have a staff dedicated entirely to playing with and loving up the dogs in the evening. The pick up was extremely exciting and VERY educational! We spent at least two hours with Ronnie & Lani teaching us everything we needed to know to be better dog parents. Ronnie was so supportive as we learned the e-collar and all of Lani's new commands. He provided several helpful tips on how we can improve, without being critical. We already feel like more responsible, confident dog owners and it has only been 2 days since we brought her home! As Ronnie predicted, Lani quickly tried to revert back to old behaviors at home, but all it took was one "No" and one "Here" and she stopped immediately. Lani is easily responding to the commands she / we learned from The K-9 Academy. She seems so happy with herself that she knows how to behave. By the time we got home we had received a follow up email with reminders and tips for the homecoming. They really did not miss a beat at The K-9 Academy. Special shout out to their groomer! Not only did she do an excellent job on our sweet Lani girl, but she also gave us fantastic feedback on Lani's behavior while being groomed. This was HUGE for us because the last time we had Lani groomed (NOT at K-9 Academy) the groomer left us a really nasty note about Lani's behavior. The fact that Lani was so well behaved for the groomer at The K-9 Academy, not only reaffirms the exceptional training that Lani received, but also tells us that Lani was extremely comfortable, at ease and confident during her time with their groomer. We are so happy to have our girl home and excited to keep working on her training at home! We highly recommend the K-9 Academy team and their Groomer to anyone who is serious about learning the skills to be a successful dog family!

Our little German Shepperd mix was not a good pup. We rescued her at 3 months and within a month, she had a serious attitude. We lost control. Luckily we found The K-9 Academy. We are forever grateful to Ronnie on the remarkable training he provided to both our dog, Stella, and to us. We had a lot to learn. At the end of training, we gained control and had a better understanding of our dog. We also learned to improve socialization, enhance trust, and ensure safety. Life is much happier and Stella continues to improve with the knowledge and tools The K-9 Academy provides. Thank you!!!

My wife and I got our first puppy last year and found our experience very rewarding but at times frustrating. Rufus (our puppy) did not follow commands and wanted things his own way. We heard great things about K9 academy and we were not disappointed. Ronald worked closely with Rufus, teaching him to better understand us and be an obedient dog. The training Rufus has learned enables him to not only be a better dog but also protects him from several potential dangers. If you want great dog training-K9 academy are the experts.

Awesome training. My family said she's not trainable; she's 2 years old and set in her ways. It was so awesome to be able to tell them they were wrong. Ronnie is such a great guy to work with and very knowledgeable. He not only trained our dog, but trained me to and gave us all the confidence in the world to let our dog have her freedom without a leash. TOTALLY RECOMEND K-9 ACADEMY!!

The K-9 Academy is the best experience I have ever had with a dog training program. They have top level professionalism and service. They are down to earth, teacher friendly, nonjudgmental and very encouraging to work with. In October of last year I took my rescued Shar Pei to the academy and she is still thriving today. This training helped me be able to communicate with my dog to keep her safe in any situation and knowing my expectations in manners. One of my favorite tricks, when on my parents farm I can be yards away from her telling her to lay down and she does without hesitation. The K9 Academy does not use aggression as a training tool, my dog was very stubborn during her first sessions and Ronnie stayed calm and never gave up on her. You can truly trust them with your dog, your fur-baby. They are the best in our area, it is worth the money, time, and effort.

K-9 Academy was incredible resource for us. Ronnie was patient with us as he trained us to train our dog. He found out what we wanted from the experience and helped us reach our goals. Now we have a dog who is so much calmer and can run in our backyard off leash. Tonight we took him (7-month-old boxer) to ice cream. He stayed in a down position as little kids ran past and closely approached him. We are so happy with our training and recommend it to every dog owner we talk to.

We did the 10-day Day Train for our 6month old Australian Sheppard and absolutely loved the experience. They make it super convenient with the shuttle system, were very informative, and the result was everything we hoped for, plus some. Highly recommend to anyone interested.

If you are thinking about booking dog training, do it now! Booking a board and train for our 6 month old Goldendoodle was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and the best money I’ve ever spent. Ronnie is amazing and will completely transform your dog! I can never thank him enough for what he has done for our family. Before taking Stella to the K9 Academy, I had to crate her anytime people came over. She would jump on everyone and was really just wild. She is now the most behaved dog I have ever seen. We can now take her with us when we go places and she is great with everyone she meets. Ronnie and Ashely are so easy to get along with and will treat your dog like their own. I seriously can’t say enough good things! If you are on the fence about booking, don’t be! I promise you won’t regret it!

We brought our dog Luna for board and train. When we picked her up, she was a different dog but in the best way! She still had her personality but she was a better listener and overall better behaved. It was amazing to see what K9 academy was able to teach her in such a short period of time. If are within a 3-4 hour radius( honestly I would drive even longer) of The K-9 Academy and you want to get your pup to the level he/she is destined to be then you need to contact Ronnie and Ashley Coleman. I am telling you what. Gus was a great dog before and he is a phenomenal dog after! These folks are the real deal. Every dog should go through the basics at least! The entire experience from the initial intake forms to the send off was above par. Gus is a different dog (responsive and ready to work and please, listens, doesn’t chase my cats, etc). We did the board and train mainly because we live 3.45 hours away, and the work Ronnie did with Gus surpasses anything we have experienced with chain franchises. Worth the $$ and worth the time. I can’t understand how anyone wouldn’t want to do this for their pup, themselves and their life journey together. Check them out and I promise you will not be disappointed. We will be seeking them out again in the future. We drove almost 4 hours away for this when we have the chains and other “popular” places around. Hands down best decision EVER!

Definitely worth the investment!We have a 2 year old family dog that was wonderful but getting more stubborn as she got older. She knew all of the basics but was not good at responding all the time, particularly when there were distractions. This was only worsening as time progressed so it was really important to not only get her trained but I was excited to learn as well.We finally decided that this was not only an investment in her but more importantly for our family.After just one session there was a noticeable difference. After the second session we saw a huge improvement.The most important takeaway is if you are willing to put the time and effort in it is completely worth it. We’re a busy family with work, farm, and family life but the minimal time it takes each day reaps exponential rewards.Ronnie and his team have put together a great program that you can cater to the exact needs of you and your dog. I’m so grateful that we now have a dog that is so easy to train, is eager to please and learn. She is able to walk off leash, sees a squirrel or deer and will listen to me even with distractions. I can take her out in public and she will calmly listen to me now versus lunging and wanting to excitedly jump on people.Our dog is still her happy self but after training is now a much more respectful dog who listens.Highly recommend!!!!

Don't even think twice about enrolling your dog in the K9 academy!! This has been the most amazing investment in our dog and our family. The number of people who stop us to compliment the demeanor and behavior of our 16 month old Australian Labradoodle is unbelievable. Our "little" buddy is so much happier knowing our expectations and we have learned so much from Ronnie and his team along the way. The facility is spotless - so clean that you almost forget it's a dog training facility (you literally don't even smell the slightest dog scent and I joked many times it's so clean that you could sleep on their floor!).I will say that I was a little emotional at the beginning since it was a total change to our training practice; HOWEVER, if your dog is a little emotional/sensitive like ours (and me lol), just keep going and TRUST THE PROCESS. I feel like our dog "hit rock bottom" during session 2-into week 3, but weeks 4-5 he exponentially soared and now he is so happy and off the charts in regards to all things that were taught in training. It has generalized into all aspects of his life!Ronnie and his team were very professional though personable, prompt to respond to any questions in between sessions, and made us laugh though the growing pains. They have a system, and IT WORKS!!!! Book now. You will not regret it!!

By the end of the first session she was walking beside us instead of pulling on the leash. She now recalls, follows basic directions, and what a world of difference! We highly recommend K-9 Academy. Based on a recommendation from a family member I reached out to Ronnie for advice for our 1-year old Australian Shepherd littermates who were no longer getting along, and having to be kept in separate rooms of the house to keep them from fighting. We were at the end of our rope and not sure what direction to go to be able to safely keep both dogs in the household. Ronnie recommended the On & Off-Leash Private Lessons. We just finished up our training last week and it was absolutely the best decision I’ve made for our dogs and us. We are all back to living together in the house and all is good!
