What an awesome store! I recently got into birding and had to get some supplies. Search the internet for a location near my house that sold bird seed among other items. Went to the store and feel in love with “everything.” I wanted it all from the birdseed to the bird houses. They have whatever you need (and then some). Will continue to pursue my newest hobby with the help of this store, they’re great. Staff is always friendly, professional and helpful. Staff members took the time to explain everything to me, and how to combat my nemesis “squirrels.” If you’re looking for a great place, with great prices and friendly staff, you cannot go wrong with this store.

Great place to view a wide variety of bird feeders and see some of the most extensive collection of different types of seed. Very pleasant staff provide positive support for your specific birding needs. Hummingbirds supplies available. Loved visiting this interesting store.

After many tries of using "squirrel proof" feeders, I stopped by the Backyard Bird store. With their expert advise, I purchased a feeder that is really "squirrel proof". Also purchased a suet feeder that allows the birds to eat and the squirrels to forage. Thank you, I will be back for a larger feeder soon.

They have very high quality bird food, best I have seen. I also got all my bird feeding stuff from the store. Staff are knowledgeable about birding. They also have frequent discounts and you get to accumulate birdie bucks which you can use as coupon. This is my go to place for my wild birdie friends.

I have bought bird seed and all manner of feeders and houses for songbirds, hummingbirds, squirrels (yes, wait until you see their *games* for squirrel feeders!) over the past 16 years at the Alexandria location. (They have their original store up in Maryland.) Their employees are incredibly nice and educated abt birds, feeding, etc. They are a marvelous resource for wild animal rescue organizations, too. The feeders I purchase there have a lifetime guarantee! Imagine that! When something breaks or falls off a feeder, I take it to them & they repair or replace it, many times free of charge. Their bird food is highly varied, you choose based on what birds come to your yard, or what you'd like to attract, just ask them for help. I have never had birds refuse their food; I cannot say that for bird seed I've bought in grocery or hardware stores in the past.Note: they have beautiful, quality animal-themed socks and lovely, well-made earrings also; I cannot resist them! I only wish they'd bring back their hand-painted *readers* (inexpensive reading glasses) -- I bought a pair with hummingbirds and binoculars painted on the frames. Adorable, if you like zany glasses!
