Christina S did my golden retriever Bennett’s cut today! I was super nervous to bring him to a groomer as I have heard so many horrible stories about bad grooming. But Bennett did so well (even though he doesn’t sit still for long) Christina had the patience and compassion for my boy. He looks wonderful, thank you again!!!

I unfortunately after trying a new groomer at this petco will be taking my business elsewhere. I was consistent with another groomer but she moved. First it took 4.5 hours for my 9lb dog to be done when it usually takes 2 hours at most. The groomer had no customer service. Barely wanted to speak to me…after I had to ask her to come out so I could describe the cut I wanted. Again it was my first time meeting her so I thought a quick consultation wasn’t asking too much. My main request was to groom my dog’s ear a certain way. I showed her a photo. Well on the left is what I asked for & on the right is what she gave me. Tierra just left me very unsatisfied. My dog looks nothing like herself.

We take our dog to get baths and be groomed here. It's fair pricing although the service and quality seems to continue to diminish the more times we go. After being impressed by the first visit and how well they had done with him, each subsequent visit has been less satisfactory.

When I came in I explain that it was my dog first time ever being groomed. I normally give her a bath myself and that she have real bad anxiety. I asked will this be a problem and they said no. They asked me what I want done and I explained that I wanted her but fluff cleaned and trimmed and her ear cleaned up. I got a call almost a hour later that bear was doing bad and she had vonitted and poop everywhere and they could not put her back in the cage and she will be fine in 15 minutes and for someone to be on there on there way. When I got there to pick up bear she had absurd no hair at all in her butt and here ears looked as if a three year old took some scissors and chopped the long hair off. Thenbi was told I need to look into a personal groomer . Bear will never go back to Petco for another groom.

I actually started coming to Petco after our fav groomer ‘Uncle Andre’ left Petsmart. As a new client I brought in ALL my paperwork (rabies). When we arrived there were a few groomers at the front desk I mentioned how my senior (16) was having diarrhea based on anxiety and they all were so welcoming and attentive.My actual groomer that day, cannot remember her name (AA female with colorful braids), was absolutely AMAZING!!! She was so attentive to the pups. Having a senior (16) and a younger one (7) she was able to give me feedback on each one that actually fit their personality and even made suggestions of what I could use for their anxiety since we had to move. I purchased in store and online!!! The dogs actually left calm & peacful. I was happy and the experience Amazing!!! Which made we reschedule.Unfortunately, my next 3 visits have been horrible and after today I will NOT be back!On our 2nd visit I was bummed to find out that the 1st groomer was no longer there as well as the shorter blond who helped me with my senior. So I scheduled with a new groomer, Thalia (?), who was quiet and barely greeted us when we arrived. She stated she didn’t have the senior’ rabies shot record. I explained that I brought it in the first time they were groomed. She could not find us in the system. We were not serviced.We returned a few weeks later and they still did not have us in the system. This time It was both Thalia & Kat. It took over 4 hrs for the pups to be complete. When I arrived Kat stated that the other groomer had several dogs ahead of us, although when we arrived there was one dog on the table and no others in sight or heard. When I picked them up, they were both still wet and the nails NOT done. Kat gave the excuse that the senior would not let her do his nails and I needed to go to my vet. Did NOT like the energy whatsoever. And the senior was more anxious than when we arrived.But I gave it another go, because we ALL have bad days!Today we arrived 12 mins early. And Kat was waiting! I complimented her on her picture and even joked about how I bet they would want to get us in and out. Thalia smiled. Kat said nothing. I mentioned that senior’s seeing was worse and we discussed that she had experience with seniors. She stated it would take about 45mins and to stay in the area. It was maybe 35 mins!!!I received a call about the senior being anxious and trying to bite when she attempted to do his nail and that she would towel dry him. Really? Towel drying on 1/2 pug does absolutely nothing! She stated he went #2 on the table and it was runny. She said he needed to get groomed by the vet from now on. I believe it was a copout and told her so. I told her, in the presence of Thalia and another customer, that if she just didn’t want to groom him that is a different story.When we left the senior used the bathroom. So he probably had to do both numbers. He shakes when has to use the bathroom. He can control his #1 but not #2 and I forgot to let them use the bathroom before leaving our house.And they STILL do not have Buju’s name correct in the system. It’s NOT Bougie (unless that’s a Freudian slip).I will not be back.

Christina S. did a wonderful job. We moved here in July and had to leave the groomer my dog was with for four years starting at 12 weeks old. I took him to one groomer in Alexandria and his cut was bad and he hid under the bed from something he experienced. I waited 8 weeks and decided based on price (because I have a hard time paying $140 or more for my small dog) to try Petco. They charged a reasonable rate and Christina was warm and friendly. She took the time to get acquainted with Milo and took photos of his cuts from his long time groomer to be sure what I was looking for in his cut.

Took our dog here for the first time. While she came back looking great and the staff were nice, this place had a weird vibe. They returned my dog dressed in an outfit which I didn't ask for (not a fan of dogs on clothing, sorry, it was off-putting) and pushed signing up for recurring plans and services. I'd come back in a pinch but for now will continue shopping around for a regular grooming service.

Walked in for a nail trim at 3:40 on a Sunday and was turned away (website says they close at 6). Receptionist said they were already cleaning up to leave early and that usually the last grooming appointment was at 5. Again, this is 2 hours before closing. Very confused as website says you do not need an appt for a nail trim but was asked to come back tomorrow at 2:45.

Took my dog here for a bath and brush out. While the groomer was pleasant, she was pushing that I sign up for a monthly subscription through Petco for grooming. While appealing, I am happy I didn’t sign up. I was told that my dog’s shedding would dissipate after 24 hours (he has a double coat), however it’s now been a week and he’s still shedding and worse than ever. Why did I pay an additional fee for a brush out when the groomer obviously didn’t put in the effort to do so? A bath and brush out came out to be almost $80?? Not to mention they bathed him and “brushed him out” in less than 45 minutes… I would skip this place and save your money. What a really frustrating experience overall. Maybe the groomer should put as much effort into brush outs as she does into peddling the monthly subscription plan.

I dropped my 8 year old Golden Retriever off today for a bath, brushing and nails. She’s been to multiple pricey groomers in the area and I am far more satisfied with the quality and pricing at this PETCO location. I paid half what I normally pay and she was done in half the time. KAYLEE was who I worked with and she was just wonderful. She was so sweet with my dog who was nervous to be left there. My dog looks and smells great. Did I mention I got 20% because it was my first groom there? I will definitely be bringing my dog back to see Kaylee when she’s ready for a trim!

Jung did an excellent job. He took my call, explained the appointment, greeted us and took great care of our pooch. He then called me when the service was complete so I could come and pick up my happy, clean, well-groomed pup!

I have a small dog who is very nervous about nail clippings. He had two failed attempts at another groomer. But here... Joe and Tatianya were FANTASTIC! My dog was able to easily get his nails trimmed. They even spent some time with him to warm him up and get used to being handled by them. The extra time and care made all the difference in my dog's experience. I will be going here and recommending them for this point forward.

Our groomer, Keon, was AMAZING. We have an akita and a Shiba mix, so very large dogs that can be intimidating to take care of and their hair is so overwhelming. He took such good care of them. They honesty had the best groom of their lives. They looked great. Their nails looked the best that anyone has ever gotten them. I’m not joking— I was floored. The dogs are total softies, but get excited and playful when they see people. The Shiba ended up having an accident during the groom and it was taken in total stride. I will definitely be using him again and hopefully he stays for a very long time!!

Tatyana does an amazing job with my baby. While he still hates going to the groomer, he is much more relaxed than he has ever been with a groomer before. He also always looks and smells great afterwards!

Not happy with the haircuts my boys had at petco. Their face cut was so crooked that I had to fix them myself when we got home. Also, I found a big mat on one of my boys' chin. Again, I had to brush it out and trim it. This defeated the purpose of me paying about $150 for the service.

I was able to go in the same day. Our dog doesn't like when we cut his nails and the groomer seemed to really take his time to assure our dog was comfortable.
