Teddy loved his grooming experience here. I have been to several groomers and this by far was one of his best grooms. When I walked in and saw him calmly sleep while getting his face shaped I knew that I would be back! Gabriella did a wonderful job.

I absolutely love the Paw Spa, and so does my dog. Tee has groomed my dog but everyone I’ve met has been incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Tee consistently does a fabulous job to help my pup put his best paw forward. Would highly recommend to anyone in the DMV!

I was waiting to post a review to give the owner time to respond to my phone calls and emails-- they have yet to respond at all. As you can see from the photos below, my goldendoodle received a horrible haircut and sustained injury at the Paw Spa.I had scheduled my goldendoodle to get groomed this past week with the owner. However, they switched to a different groomer during the service without my approval. I explained exactly what I expected especially with the cut of the front legs (looks like a smaller blade was used and resulted in a deeper uneven groom on the back of front legs). I was assured by owner that it would not happen. I received my dog back with the exact issue I was told wouldn’t happen. Further, other issues also arose from the groom. My dog's back legs are not groomed all the way down and her dewclaws were not cut at all. In addition, it looks like my dog sustained injury to her paw as the clippers were used on her paw pad and shaved it off partially. I have sent emails including the pictures I took below so that the owner can see the grooming service I received which is not up to par and potentially dangerous. I also called Paw Spa the following morning and spoke with the groomer (assistant manager "T") that cut my dog because owner was unable to speak with me during this time. I was rudely talked down to and was not given any solutions by the groomer/assistant manager but was told that it was the genetics of my dog and the blade that was at fault.Please note, my dog has been groomed with the same size blade here and at different groomers and it has never turned out like this. Then she proceeded to cut me off and tell me I am incorrect because she had 11 years of experience grooming dogs. However, it is clear from the images below that further groomer training is needed. If they cannot properly groom mixed breed dogs (I.e. goldendoodles) then this should be advertised on their website. Later that same day I called back and I spoke with a groomer (Jamal) who took down my information and said that the owner would call in a few hours. I have not been contacted via phone call or email.Additionally, I met with my vet about the deeply shaved paw pad and the vet said that the clippers were too close and shaved it off. There has been no accountability and I have not received any resolution from the Paw Spa to solve this issue. I would like a full refund to rectify this issue because I paid for a service that I did not receive. Also, my dog had to suffer an injury. Please see photos below.Since they are not responding to me directly, maybe they will respond to the Better Business Bureau.I will update this review as necessary.

f I could leave less than 1 star I would. When I picked up my dog his back paw was bloody from how badly they cut down to the quick of the nail. Other than that upon first appearance he looked like he had an adequate bath. Upon getting my dog in the car I noticed how excessively he was shedding. He does shed after a bath but if he is brushed after, the shedding is minimal. After I got my dog home, I spent an hour cleaning his bloody paw and brushing him. I was able to get an entire puppy’s worth of hair off of him which tells me that there was no brushing that happened as advertised as part of the bath service. Not only the one paw was bloody but TWO nails were cut so short it caused my dog to bleed and he only has 3 paws!!! After getting the bleeding to finally stop my dogs quality of life was affected because he had to be locked in the bathroom so he wouldn’t bleed on the white carpet. Unfortunately after leaving him there for 5 hours his paw began to bleed again uncontrollably when I took him outside for a quick walk to relieve himself. I will now have to take a day off of work to take him on walks and control his bleeding after. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. The establishment had pet hair all over the floor and I’m now concerned about infection to my dogs two wounds he received here because of the lack of cleanliness. The cherry on the top is that the price is double than what I’ve ever paid for a top notch bath for my dog that doesn’t even need his hair to be trimmed. $150 for a basic bath, no brushing as advertised, two wounds, and a missed day of work misses the mark for me. I will not be returning or recommending this place to any of my friends with fur babies.

Having come home with odd looking cuts for my dog from various other establishments, we were completely delighted with the results at Paw Spa. They do a fantastic job with the grooming, they’re delightful people, and the entire experience this first rate. It’s easy to tell they take great care of the pets as they treat them. Highly recommended!

My maltipoo has been getting haircuts with Paw Spa for almost a year now and they always do a great job. They are so friendly and put in extra effort to make your dog comfortable. Milo can get nervous about grooming and they are so sweet with him! I highly recommend.

What a rip off - book at your own risk. I called yesterday to make an appointment for my dog - this is our first time at Paw Spa. Was told it would take 3-4 hours so today when I dropped him off, I wanted to verify it would take no more than 4 hours. They refused to commit to that and sent out a person I assume is the manager. She immediately copped attitude with me saying "we're not robots" and "we're very busy because it's the holidays". I said I don't think you're robots but I was told 3-4 hours and I need to pick him up in no more than 4 hours. She said I could either leave him and take my chances or take him so I said I would take him. At this point she said they would be charging me a 50% cancellation fee. I asked how they could charge this when they told me 3-4 hours and can't live up to that. She repeated "we're not robots" and then asked if I was going to leave him. I said no because I don't like they way you are talking to me. And they just charged me a cancellation fee that is actually more than 50% of what I was quoted for his haircut and bath!

This was Marcus’s first time being groomed by anyone but me, and my eyes have been opened! I was very impressed with the work here. Scheduling my appointment online was easy and everything flowed smoothly and efficiently. The staff were nice and easy to talk to.Only thing I would have changed was that the check-in was kinda fast and I wish there would have been more of an assessment and then an estimation of price, rather than being surprised at the end. I realized later that I was charged a weight class higher than my dog is and I’m not sure if that was a mistake or if other factors went into that decision.All in all though, I definitely plan to come back 👍🏽

Such a great service! I love that Toki and all other pups get to roam freely or hang out by the window. Our rescue has anxiety and hates crates or enclosed spaces. I love bringing her here because I know that she will be well taken care of. She always smells so good after her grooming but most importantly, the products they use do not irritate her skin. The haircut is always so cute on her!

Taken our puppy gobi to get groomed here twice and been very happy with the cuts he has received both times. We gave them some feedback after the first cut based our our personal preference and they accommodated it perfectly. They even give him a little bowtie with each cut. Won't be bringing our dog anywhere else and happy to support this local women owned business!

Took my 16week, 4lb, maltipoo “Pepperoni” to the groomers for the first time. I was extremely nervous & anxious because Pepperoni gives me such a hard time when I try to groom him & he was matted. I had the privilege of having the owner Gabriella do it. Soon as I came in, she flashed me the biggest smile & I immediately felt at ease. I was a bit taken aback that I couldn’t be there to watch him get groomed but I knew he was in great hands. I regret not taking pictures when he was finished but Pepperoni looked & smelled fabulous. He looked happy & made a new friend with Gabriella, plus all the matts were gone. She also gave me tips on how to deal with my dog being hella dramatic when it comes to cleaning him. Amazing grooming and pet spa. My dog normally hates baths or going to the groomer. Gabriella and Gianna are fantastic, patient, and highly skilled professionals that take great care of him. He is always happy and energetic after his Paw Spa experience and loves hanging out in the pet lounge after his bath. The Paw Spa is a fantastic small business and a perfect addition to the Old Town community.

I'm obsessed with Paw Spa. Definitely a luxury service (so it's an investment!) but as someone with a super anxious pup, it brings me so much joy to see her waiting int he little living room all relaxed after her appointment. I can't say the same about other groomer's where there's lots of noise and they mishandle my dog, putting her in a small kennel after and she's anxious to get out. Worth the extra buck and beautiful haircuts every time- and she always smells great!! The location is a plus because it's in the middle of Old Town where I usually run a few errands or hit the gym before picking her up.

Today was the first time my dogs were groomed here. I’ve taken them to many groomers in ten years, and not all groomers can groom Westies well. Their groomer today did a great job, though! Very professional/nice staff, & I love how they look! My dogs even received a compliment as soon as we stepped out of the building! :) We will be back.

Before/After - Lacardo is THE best! He has such a gentle and loving hand with how he grooms my Obi. I’ve been bringing my little guy here since last year and I am always pleased with the work. It’s soooooo difficult trusting anyone with your fur baby, but I find so much comfort with Lacardo. 10/10 recommend

I took my cute scruffy new puppy in and he came back looking like a top model. I recently adopted a 2yr old rescue stray who is the sweetest dog in the world but probably never had a proper bath before (I’m in the before shot with him). I called and explained his situation and they fit him in for a bath as quickly as they could. He went from being slightly yellow with fur that felt like straw (and the smell…) to a beautiful white shining fluff ball! He’s clearly so much more comfortable and I love cuddling him even more than ever! The team was beyond kind to him and it’s clear they all love animals. I’ll be bringing him (and his big sister) back forever. Thank you so much!

I am so glad I found this business. I only use them for nail trims because that is all my doggies need but they are the best! My girls who usually cry and wiggle always are quiet when they get their nails cut here and they do such a good job. Every staff member is friendly and professional. Highly recommend!

Amazing service! My dog has had a rough month- 6 visits to the vet and endless tests for a blockage. Because of this he was very anxious at the groomer. The owner was so gentle and caring with him, and even split his grooming into two days so he wasn’t overwhelmed. He looks adorable, too! We will be back!

Paw Spa has been an absolute lifesaver for me and my cat, Jade. She has severe skin allergies and lots of hair loss. I’ve been bringing her here for months for Theraclean baths with Gabriella. It has been an enormous help to Jade. Afterward, she feels less itchy, her skin looks wildly better, and she smells amazing. Plus, Gabby and the whole team are so wonderful- all clearly animal lovers who dote on our fur babies. Gabby is so sweet and loving with jade. The fact that my cat even tolerates the baths is a testament to the talent and treatment of this team. Can’t recommend Paw Spa, and absolutely Theraclean in particular, enough.

My two toy poodles were matted and hadn’t been groomed in 6 months. I can tell they were treated well because when I got them back they were not traumatized by the experience. Don’t ever bring your dogs to this fake luxury spa!! Nothing luxury about the disgusting attitude from the owner and staff. It’s amusing how everyone is saying the same about the owner and her lack of ability to communicate in a professional and considerate manner. Her ability to articulate her words is awful and she addressed me by girl throughout the entire conversation. When I tried to tell her I’m a business owner and explain I understood but she implied that I was lying before I could even finish my statement, which I have no reason to but one thing for sure my clients can speak highly of me and my professionalism and care for them unlike this beast of an owner. Whether or not you felt I was in the wrong for voicing how I felt about your bogus $50 cancellation fee there is a way to do it. One thing you should know about business is the customer comes first. I agree with every negative comment on this review page because that is just how you acted. Then you have a nerve to tell me about your groomer and how not canceling the appointment made him lose out on money and what Christmas shopping he could’ve been doing like beast that’s not my problem. Please don’t come to this place the customer service is horrible!
