We’ve been coming here for all grooming needs for nearly a year now and don’t plan on going anywhere else! I’ve never had a groomer be able to do the Schnauzer cut as well as Isaac, he kills it every time! Thank you, Isaac, for getting Lilinoe all pretty before her second birthday and squeezing us in so soon! 10/10 recommend, best groomer in the DMV, we will continue coming here even when we move further out!

Exceptional service at Head to Tail Grooming Spa! My 11-month-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel had his first grooming experience with Kayla, and I couldn't be happier. My pup was visibly nervous when I dropped him off, but Kayla's approach and demeanor put him (and me!) at ease. When I picked him up, he looked great. Kayla took the time to update me on his visit and recommended quieter times for future visits to help him feel more comfortable. I'm incredibly grateful for her care and professionalism. Also, I like how all the dogs are out in the open on the grooming tables, and that the dogs waiting to be groomed have the option to be in a kennel or to play with other dogs. Worth the drive from DC, and he will definitely be returning for more grooming sessions with Kayla!

I've been taking my mini Goldendoodle to From Head to Tail since he was a puppy. They offer great customer service and helped me figure out how I wanted him cut. They have NEVER poodled my doodle, he alway smells amazing, and they always give him a cute accessory.

Our fur baby, Osito, has been going to Angie for about 3 years now and she is absolutely amazing. When my husband received orders for the area, it was nerve racking to find a groomer we could trust but from the first visit we had with Angie, we knew we were going to love it. Osito always seems comfortable during his haircuts and always comes out looking so handsome and happy.Thank you Angie for always treating our baby with so much care!

Hi! Just wanted to share about our experience here. I’m in the military and travel a lot so I’ve taken my pup to a lot of groomers over the last two years. I will start off on a good note, the service was very friendly and our dog came out happy and adorable, however, I have never been to a groomer that costs $250 for a 60 pound Doodle. We were recommended this place by a bunch of people who also have doodles (ranging from 40-50 pounds) and they all claimed they payed around $150. They said the $250 was because he’s “big and has a lot of hair” but don’t all doodles? When I told the people that referred me to them that I was charged that much they were shocked. We were assured he was a good boy, although he didn’t like the dryer very much, but that doesn’t have an effect on the price. The stylist was amazing and super kind, but definitely not worth $250.I also saw on their website that they adjust the price based on frequency of visits. So if you have an extra $500 to pay for a groomer every couple months they are definitely a great choice.

Best Dog Groomer in DC.The people who work here are genuine dog people. The customer service was great and the groomer took time to get to know us and I felt super comfortable leaving our dog here.Our dog is happy and seemed to have had a good time.I would recommend this place over Distric Dogs a millions times.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!!!!! Took my babies there for a cut. The owner is VERY RUDE! She kept making remarks to me as if I couldn’t afford the services there. Once she seen I could afford to get my dogs cut, the other woman who works up front looked as if she did not want to take my dogs to the back to be seen, her face was very “telling”. They told me how long it was going to be and they would call me when they were done. I NEVER GOT A CALL. I had to call them twice, just for them to tell me that one of my dogs was skipped in line for a bath. So I had to wait more time. I asked for a discount, the owner told me they don’t offer discounts and the best they could do for me was give a 10% discount on my next cut. I was LIVID. The owner was very satisfied with charging me full price even tho they skipped my dogs baths and had me waiting an extra 2 hours. NOT WORTH THE MONEY !!!!! They claim to be a spa but offer NOTHING but rudeness and supper cuts!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!

**Editing from 3 stars to 4: I decided to give them a second chance. The owner was very responsive to my feedback and wanted to ensure we were set up for success on Walters next groom. They offered to take him in first thing in the morning when the shop is quieter/calmer and I think it really did help to put Walter at ease during his grooming. I very much appreciated the owners kindness, concern and desire to make the situation better for Walter. As always, the groomer did an amazing job!Original review: I first want to say the groomer did an excellent job with my dog Walter. I showed her a picture of previous groomings and the cut/measurements and she did everything I had asked for - his cut turned out really great. I’m choosing to give 3 stars because of a few reasons: First the price, it was too expensive. This is the most expensive grooming salon we’ve been to and the services/cut was not significantly better than other places we have tried so I do think they are probably 15-20% overpriced. Second: we were first time customers and I left the salon feeling extremely uncomfortable leaving my dog there. It was SO busy and chaotic inside - there were at least 5 groomers with 6-8 dogs, some being groomed, some wandering. Many dogs were barking, it was loud, and there was way too much happening in such a small place. All dogs are being groomed/waiting in the same small room. There is barking, whining, panic, blow dryers etc. It seemed like they were overbooked. I don’t know if it was maybe a fluke or a busier day than normal, but Walter was panicked from all the chaos before we even met the groomer. Another thing - they didn’t have water available for pets inside. We had walked 20 mins on a hot day and there was no water for him today drink when registering. I asked them to bring water and they said they couldn’t. I made a point to ask the receptionist to please give him water during his groom because he overheats easily and they assured me that they did. When meeting my groomer, she wasn’t very communicative, she didn’t take off her headphones either… so I felt a little weird trying to ask her what I wanted for the cut because I don’t know if she could actually hear me. Plus it was so loud with all the barking. Luckily I had my notes and she just took a picture of them on my phone. All in all, I don’t think I would feel comfortable bringing Walter back here from the sheer volume of dogs crammed into one room being groomed and the overbooking, and plus at this price point I would be more reluctant.

We all know it's so hard finding a good groomer, especially if you have a long-haired dog. I've been taking my baby Georgie to From Head to Tail monthly for almost two years now, and have always had wonderful service! I've never had an issue with pricing as some other reviewers have stated, but for me, it's so worth the outcome you get. His skin is healthy and he always smells clean up until his next visit. Most of the dogs are free to roam about while they wait for service or to be picked up but I feel safe leaving him in their care. The groomers and the owner Jodi are all so sweet and friendly. I know our groomer Vee treats him right because he's always so happy to see her, and she does such a great job. I moved further out to Maryland and I still take my pooch to them and will continue to do so.

The micro bath is not what the website makes it seem like or what they’ve told me. My baby gets groomed twice a month one by me and one by them. They are a little over price, but I love his groomer and it beats going to PetSmart. They’re very welcoming and seem very sweet to our babies. So, I’ll pay it just not the micro-bath anymore.

We took our 4mo puppy, Inigo, for his first professional groom and they did a fantastic job! Our little aussie is definitely more on the reserved side, so hearing that he was able to open up to others is BIG - they knew he'd be shy and acted accordingly to help him acclimate. We appreciate such a thoughtful team. He came out looking happy and handsome :)Thank you for giving him a great first experience! We will be back!(We actually came here on recommendation by our friends whose pup has anxiety, and they take very good care of her as well - ex. adjusting her groom schedule to minimize any stress she may have. If any a groomer to go to, this is the one!)P.S. The pricing is very good for what you get and the area that we are in. If you want a job done right, you gotta pay for it.

I was looking for a groomer that my dog wouldn’t be locked up and that would be enjoyable for my pup! This place takes the crown. Head to Tail has great and friendly customer service! Right when we walk in, the receptionist greets us so warmly! Rashad has been our requested groomer for the last couple of visits and he is fantastic! They keep record of the style, cut, length, special notes, etc. on file to refer back to (I love this attention to detail.) My 2.5 year old cockapoo was a bit nervous but Rashad’s calm and caring demeanor helped Oliver feel safe. On top of that, Rashad took a video during Oliver’s stay to reassure us that he was in good spirits! Oliver enjoys his social time post grooming where the dogs get to play together under supervision. Paying through their online invoice system makes checkout so easy and efficient. Thank you guys for taking care of Oliver!

10/10. I couldn't be happier with how my puppy's, Raiden, first groom went. I'll admit I was nervous as I didn't know how he was going to act. But I can tell the groomer (I apologize that I can't remember his name) truly took him time working with my terrier energy boy. I am so happy that Raiden had a positive first groom experience and we will be back!All of the staff I interacted with were so nice and I can tell they love what they do. The shop was noisy with barking dogs, but what groomers isn't. I do like that they are cage free but I can see why some may not like it. It works for Raiden but it may not work for my grumpy older dog.I feel like the price was reasonable for what I wanted done and for the extra patience that it takes for a puppy's first groom.Bottom line, I'm happy and my boy looks handsome.

I am sooo happy with this salon. I was cancelled on multiple times by other groomers who come to my apartment and have been let down before. I found head to tail and so happy I did. My dog came out so happy, after grooming she’s usually dull, quiet and very tired. Not after today, she came home happy and excited. Her haircut is adorable and so is the little bow they give the dogs. I’m obsessed and will be back. From the front desk to the groomers everyone is smiling and the team is very transparent. You have a little consult in the beginning and aren’t left questioning why you were charged a certain amount. So happy!!! So is Charli!

As a new client, I can not rave enough about the outstanding service from beginning to end. Ms. Zoey came out strutting with a smile. She looks amazing, fur soft as cotton, white areas super white, nails actually manicured down, and she smells AMAZING! We have finally found a new home :-). Dana and front counter staff are professional and welcoming. Love the electronic payment processes as well. And the decor is colorful and chic.Looking forward to my return.

Took our Australian Shepard here for the first time (just moved in the area). She is a very sweet pup. But she is an Aussie so she gets anxiety at times. We were pretty worried at first because this dog salon is much smaller space than our Aussie is used to when she gets groomed & it is pretty busy in there. But, when she got overwhelmed they accommodated her. The customer service was excellent. Explained thoroughly about how her first time went. They seemed very genuine.Thanks guys!

While a bit chaotic with dogs barking and close to 10 grooming stations visible right when you walk in, the Head to Tails team was really reassuring and patient for our Aussie's first grooming experience. They even gave us a number to text a picture to of the exact cut we wanted. They said our pup did a great job with his first time with a dryer and getting his nails trimmed and ga e him a cute bandana to go. Overall a good experience

I recently adopted a senior pup and needed to find a groomer. Head to Tail did a great job with the bath and groom! He was adorable, smelled great and adorned with a little bowtie as well. When I picked him up the spa was busy. They groom where you can see and the dogs are able to move around freely. Dogs and people were happy and welcoming!
