I’ve been taking my Maltese Pomeranian mix here for several months and she loves it! She gets to play and she’s tried when she gets home so I can relax after work instead of dealing with a rambunctious puppy. The staff is super friendly and you can tell everyone loves and cares for dogs. They also do fun events, for example they were taking photos for St Pattys day. Definitely recommend.

My dog has been going to Dogtopia since last year and he loves it. The staff are great and treat my dog like family! I like that I can watch my dog through the webcam.

Our dogs were boarding for over a week. When we picked up our dogs after their stay, we noticed that the smaller one had a great deal of yellowish discharge from her right eye as well as dried discharge on her eyelashes. We understand that infections can occur with dogs during boarding stays, our issue is that this condition was not brought to our attention by staff. We don’t expect your staff to have skills to diagnose and treat illnesses, however implicit in the onboarding discussion was the assurance that any health issues would be clearly communicated by staff. An eye condition can be as simple as a mild infection or something more serious as an ulcer. This is clearly a failure to monitor our dogs properly and to communicate with us about their condition, which does not instill a degree of trust to either use your services in the future or to recommend them to clients. When we talked to them about it, we were asked to email the manager and of course no one ever followed up with us.

My pup comes here almost every day for daycare and he loves it! The coaches are all so loving of the dogs, and I really appreciate getting communication about my fur baby's day and being able to watch him play with his friends on the webcams. This is the only place I'll leave him for daycare or boarding!

I absolutely love the staff at Dogtopia (Alexandria). They are always so friendly and always available to answer my questions. As a first time dog time, I really appreciate the level of customer service they offer and how well they treat my fur baby. If you’re ever in the area, please stop by. You will not regret it.

Our Vizsla loves it here! He's been going twice a week for about a month now, and we can tell he really enjoys it. The staff are really great, and very friendly. He's also gotten a bath, nail trim and teeth brushing there, too.

Dogtopia is a utopia for dogs! My puppy has been well taken care of, created doggy friends, and loves the staff. Definitely a great place to drop your dog for daycare!

The staff are super friendly and helpful. They take excellent care of my dog Diggie, and they also show him lots of love which he practically demands. . Lol! I love it there and most importantly he does too. I feel safe and comfortable leaving him in their care. I would recommend them without hesitation or reservation!!!

Zeke loves his play days at Dogtopia. He absolutely knows if it is a doggie day care day and woofs down his breakfast and paces by his harness and leash - ready to GO!The webcams are great and have given me insight into his lady friend preferences. He goes for schnauzers and bichons which makes me go Hmnn plus side eye. But he has his best day ever and comes home happy. Thanks Dogtopia!

I was so impressed by the staff in Alexandria. We had our meet n greet on Friday and Miss Eddie was amazing with out shy mini Schnauzer. The sweet lady up front noticed Miley was panting and got her a bowl of water. The puppies and fur parents were all very satisfied and we can’t wait for our sweet girl to make new friends away from home! Fran and Carlos

I worked at Dogtopia and had nothing but positive experiences. I worked the front desk and was thoroughly trained in person and with online training modules until I was comfortable to work the position by myself. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the facility, I even made my parents switch daycares for their dogs back home after seeing the difference between the two. I never had an issue at the time with being able to take days off. I was a student at GMU working full time yet Marla was understanding and always accommodated if I needed extra time off to study, complete school work, or just take a mental day off. The dogs are handled with care, when I was there the employees would always trust Dogtopia to board their dog if they went out on a vacation or had an emergency back home. I am very thankful for the experiences I had here and would still want to work there if I had not graduated and moved out of the area. Thank you Dogtopia of Alexandria :)

We were initially very excited to find a daycare/boarding where our dog was able to play with other dogs for a decent price in Alexandria. We boarded him over a long weekend, and once he came back we immediately noticed that despite him being house-broken for five years, he was now peeing inside the house. This happened several times and when I called Dogtopia to ask if he had been allowed to pee inside was told that the dogs regularly pee inside the room, but that the dogs think of the rooms as giant indoor dog parks vice being indoors. While I am glad that Dogtopia has experience with philosophical intellectual dogs, our French Bulldog is a bit dumber and as a bulldog as soon as he is able to get away with a bad behavior it is incredibly difficult to break him of that.I was also told on the phone that he might have a UTI, which is interesting as this is the same Dogtopia who told me they could not verify that he was neutered because they weren't vets and sent us on a hunt to find his neuter paperwork vice looking at his very obvious tattoo and lack of equipment. So from not being able to see an obvious SCPA tattoo they somehow got smart over a week and were now diagnosing my dog over the phone to avoid admitting fault. We have plenty of experience at home with our pets and UTI's and we are not planning on spending even more money on a vet to confirm that he has a new behavioral issue, unless Dogtopia wants to pay for that.I asked why I was never told that they were allowed to go inside the rooms regularly and was given a half-hearted apology. I was also told all the other daycares in Alexandria allow for the dogs to pee inside based on the lack of space, but this is the first time I have ever heard of a daycare doing this intentionally. The lack of transparency in telling us that they would be going to the bathroom indoors, along with the lack of ownership in now creating a problem we have to train out of our dog means we are not planning on boarding our dog here ever again nor will we be using this daycare.

Have used the facility twice and so far I'm very pleased. I rated it 4 stars because I don't have anything to compare it to . I do feel the staff is very attentive and they keep me well informed plus I am able to watch my dog on the webcam which is really nice.

Visited many doggie day care facilities in the area and easily chose Dogtopia of Alexandria. Super clean facilities, not overly crowded, dog size segregation is spot on, spa facilities and service on premise. Everyone who works there is a true and true dog lover and I feel like my guy is always being well taken care of. They do have an outdoor run, the live stream web cams always work, and of course there is always an attendant in each room to quickly clean up any "doggie messes" and keep the pack in good play and monitoring any signs of rough or aggressive behavior. Moose gives it two paws up!

Was nervous to board our 4 month old puppy for the first time, and dogtopia made us feel at ease. She had a great introductory period and opened up during boarding! She had a fabulous time and we loved checking in on her on the webcams

Would recommend dogtopia to anyone in the Alexandria area who needs a dog day care. The staff is super friendly and the dogs all seem to get along with each other. I love watching Zuko on the webcam to see what he's up to and he really seems to enjoy his time there. If you're debating on it just call and talk to one of the staff members to get a tour and see if it's the right fit for you and your dog!

My husband and I came to pick up our dog on Sunday, 1/29/2023 at around 10:45 a.m. There was a young girl with glasses at the front desk. We gave her the name of our dog, and told her we were picking her up early. She told us they would need a minute to get our dog's things together. Then for whatever reason, she felt she needed to add: "since you didn't let us know". I looked at my husband, and when she left to go to the back I asked him if he heard the same thing I heard, because I wanted to make sure I heard her correctly because it was rude and uncalled for. He said yes, and asked me not to make a scene. Out of respect for my husband, and out of respect for the very nice gentleman who brought my dog out to us, I didn't say anything. However, it will be different if this happens again. You don't treat good customers like that. We have been bringing our dog here for years and have always had pleasant interactions with staff. This young lady needs some training on how to speak to customers. I can understand if we came in rude and disrespectful, but we don't believe in acting that way, as we have been in customer service ourselves.

I wanted to like this location due to the staff but bottom line they don't have enough people and it's to the detriment of the dog's safety and location cleanliness. There were several events I tried to look past.1. One of my dogs ended up getting a huge, fleshy gash in his cheek while baording. About half an inch from his eye. They didn't know how it happened because they have one handler for like 20 dogs.2. Every time I'd pick them up from daycare, they'd smell of urine. This is because they have WAY too many dogs packed in a little room.3. They are very bad at reading notes. My dogs need to be put in the boarding kennels together due to anxiety, I'd reiterated this several times and even signed paperwork. I found out halfway through a long board, they'd ignored my notes. I only noticed due to my dog completely balling up in the corner for several days and had to bring it to their attention. She ended up losing a ton of weight and it made her anxiety worse.4. During another board, my other dog got pink eye and coccidia. With this it's obvious they aren't on par with sanitation (and resulted in below).I had a membership and assumed with them stating I couldn't bring them into daycare without negative stool, they'd be pausing my payments... they didn't and they didn't inform me otherwise. I found out a month later they were still charging me membership fees even though I was told I couldn't bring them in and I'd asked to pause my membership. They didn't inform me of any cancellation policy and trying to get in contact was like pulling teeth. I ended up having to dispute the charges as they didn't return my messages.Overall, the staff is nice but I don't recommend.

Started off being a great place for my dog to get acclimated around others. Lately, I have been feeling like I haven’t truly been getting my money’s worth and that we are getting taken advantage of. Sometimes I don’t see my pup on the webcam at all for hours then when I pick him up he is still off camera on the lobby monitors. Then when they bring him from the back he still smells as CLEAN as when I dropped him off as if he was isolated the entire day in a “blind spot” on the web cams. Usually he smells really bad (as he should from playing with all the dogs for hours) but I’ve been picking him up and he smells just like the shampoo I use on him at home. No mention of any behavior issues or that anything went wrong. I didn’t pay for or need dog boarding. My pup is well behaved and can stay home alone. I’m PAYING for ACCLIMATION.. I’m one for second chances so if this happens again I will escalate it to a manager or take my business elsewhere.

Dogtopia was a great choice for daycare and boarding. The staff is very friendly and I can tell how much my puppy enjoys being there.

I will never bring my dog back here. Not only did they not tell me about the ridiculous price increase prior to drop off on Dec 24th (leaving me no option but to pay 25% more per day because they want me to fund their employee Christmas bonus, which I don’t mind paying people for working on the holiday but they didn’t even take good care of my dog) but they took really poor care of my dog Willoughby. He was a healthy 4 year old Corgi and is now very sick with kennel cough. So glad I paid over $400 for 3 nights of boarding while I was out of town for the holidays and now spending hundreds more on veterinary care for my baby. And yes my dog was properly vaccinated against kennel cough, however they probably didn’t check that the dogs he was around wasn’t sick.

Dogopia is wonderful. I had a great experience with the meet and greet. They showed me around the whole facility and explained how everything worked. My pup was having so much fun and I got to watch her on the webcam all day. She was pooped when she came home and slept most of the night.

The staff pay close attention to our dog and when we pick him up, they really know what kind of day he had. They don't treat him like one of the crowd, they treat him like an individual. We recently bought a spa package for our dog and they did a great job. The dog has a collapsed trachea, so they couldn't put anything around his neck, and they were able to provide all the services nonetheless. Thanks for taking such great care of our baby!

My dog loves coming to Dogtopia. Facilities are clean and staff is very friendly and helpful. Love that they have dog cameras you can access and watch your pet throughout the day. You can even send treats / snacks for your dog during their "crate time" from 12-2pm.Will do an assessment of all pups before allowing them to attend daycare to ensure it is a safe place for all.Overall would recommend this place and trust them for my very spoiled pup!

I have just used them once, we went for the meet and greet and then stayed for a full day of day care. The staff were very knowledgeable, both about my dogs behavior and health/safety. Usually when we stay places staff just tell me that my dog enjoyed himself, but these staff explained the apprehension he had at first (which I’ve seen at dog parks) and gave advice about how to help him feel most comfortable. They made me feel my dog would be well cared for and gave lots of advice about how to help my dog recover at home. I think the pricing is very fair with the amount of time they spend playing, both for day and overnight services. I love the webcams. I was excited by the welcome offers and we will be taking full advantage of them to help my dog adjust before boarding. I plan to become a regular costumer here!

I have been bringing my Frenchie, Stella, to Dogtopia for the past 2 years. Stella loves Dogtopia and pretty much falls asleep as we pull out of the parking lot. Stella is always happily greeted by the front desk staff and if Marla is around, she will literally run to Stella and start playing with her on the ground. That melts my heart and removes any anxiety I would have about leaving my pup at Dogtopia for the day. Thank you Dogtopia of Alexandria!
