Awesome Mom & Pop brewery w/phenomenal beers and a welcoming, chill vibe. This isn't your typical 151 tourist trap, the focus is on the beer and the people. Their Saturday grilled cheese and beer pairing is delicious and never disappoints. Overall a great place for great people. Douche bags and obnoxious over sampling tourists please go elsewhere.

Best pilsner I've had in a long time! WildManDan's was the perfect stop at the end of our day. The nostalgic ambiance, the pet friendly vibes, and the owners/operators were fantastic. We will definitely be back!

100th review! So nice to have a "low key" brewery experience in the Nelson Co area. As all the others get watered down with more and more investors, this place is a breath of fresh air.Terri was a delight! Go Pack!Just be mindful that there are no children allowed (we knew in advance so we charged the tablets and let them go wild with Halloween candy in the car while mom and dad enjoyed a flight and a pint and some crowlers to go!)oh and the beer? delicious! you can always taste the love and dedication that goes into these small batches.Looking forward to returning the next time

This place is so cool, I kinda don't want to tell folks about it! But, it's an experience y'all should have. It's a cool location, built by some cool owners/brewers pouring some really good beer.Love local, love beerCheck them out!

I visited with my wife on Aug 24th. What a fantastic little spot! Everyone inside was so friendly, there was cool outdoor seating and a cool indoor area. If I lived in the area, I’d be one of the regulars we met, but unfortunately, being from Michigan makes that difficult. They have great beer with great range. I loved ping ponging back and forth between the IPA and the peach sour, which gives you a great range. They even have their own seltzer. Anyway, go here! (But don’t tell too many people about it and ruin the place! I felt obligated to write my review though since I only found it because of Google!)

Found a new rather small microbrewery called Wild Man Dan Microbrewery just off 151. They also have a B&B onsite so a great combination. Normally they have 5 beers on tap but one was sold out. I did a flight and can honestly state that all were very good. I especially liked both of the stouts on tap. I will say that in general I dislike sour beers except for this place. I actually like their sour beer better than any other place I've tried. Depending on what you prefer they have good indoor and outdoor seating. The 1st floor indoor seating is rather small but their upstairs area is great.

Love this place! Has the feel of a small neighborhood pub located in a barn - fun, eclectic vibe. Terri runs the front of the house; greets locals & 1st timers with equal enthusiasm. Lively, interesting conversations are sure to occur. Located upstairs is a large game room. WMD is a small batch brewery with limited choices but all are great and selections change regularly. Non-alcoholic drinks are limited to Coke and water. An official Green Bay Packers bar. We will definitely visit again.

Neither my husband or I would have ever thought we’d be ones to enjoy going to hang out at the actual bar talking to people we don’t know, but we’ve done it multiple times here now and plan to continue! Terri really facilitates something special here especially paired with the great drink options from WildManDan himself! It’s been so fun to hang out here - and the grilled cheese pairing on Saturdays seems to be a new special plan we’ll be making at least once a month. Special brews like jalapeño porter, tamarind and chili pepper pale ale, black IPA, all so good, along with really great standards like the Pik Ax (Irish red ale!).Someday we want to bring a group with us and hang out in the great space upstairs too!

Really enjoyed this place. Wood interior top to bottom. Super cozy seating if you like it, or classic bar side if you're feeling that instead. Beer was very yummy, and the bartender was warm and friendly.

Small but the best beer in the area by far. A very nice couple that brew beer during the week and sell it on the weekend. You won’t see a sign for their brewery but it is worth the search. Two of my favorites were a sour peach and a smoked wheat but all five beers on the menu were very good.

Such a welcome surprise! You’d be missing out if you don’t stop here specifically when trying beers on 151. Everything here tasted amazing and the atmosphere wonderful! The friendly people I’ve met at any brewery around hands down. We will be back 100%

If you're looking for bold flavors and a fresh experience, you need not go any further. WildManDan Brewery truly lives up to its name - wild, in the best way possible! Their entire selection is pure gold. Get the Flight, you won't regret it. 5/5.

Loved the bartenders and the friendliness and interaction with customers. The beers are a bit lacking in full bodied flavor for me, although others in my party felt they were ok. Kettle corn ++

Decided to try Wild Man Dan's after a couple of hours at the Blue Ridge Tunnel and very glad we did. Terri was incredibly welcoming and helpful as she made a few food recommendations. Food is not sold at the brewery, but you are welcome to bring your own. The place is dog friendly and has both indoor and outdoor seating. The property also houses a bed and breakfast, which is probably a pretty cool experience if we weren't local. My husband enjoyed the Bruggee Goud Sterk (Belgian Gold) while I preferred the Pik Ax (Irish Red Ale). We were both pleased with our selections and the overall vibe of the establishment. Next time we are in the area, we will definitely return.

Great atmosphere for a small new brewery. Sad it was raining when we stopped by so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor patio area, but the inside did not disappoint. It was like walking into your favorite local bar. The owner and his wife are very friendly and willing to chat about anything. The beers were great! Full of flavor and all of them unique to their style. We definitely recommend stopping in and taking a crowler to enjoy later too.

The hidden gem of breweries in this area. If you only visit one, this should be it! Great service, fantastic owners, free cup of yummy popcorn snack and tremendous unique small-batch beers. Both beers made were jalapeños were perfectly spiced, but there’s a rotating selection of good beers. Dan knows how to brew. You also need to take time a soak in all the nostalgia in this place; from cans of Billy Beer to the tappers built into an old piano, this place does not disappoint.

Super cool brewery, Pik Ax Red Ale is awesome, and the kettle corn they offered was great too! Fun spot to find on a road trip from Orlando, and will definitely pass on to others!

Unique experience - straight up small batch brewery. If you're lucky, Dan himself will make an appearance. They produce 10 gallon batches of unique brew. If you're wandering from one massive brewery to another, stop by here and check out what they have on tap. The kettle corn is a bonus.

My wife and I stopped by here on a Friday looking for a spot to try some local beer and to get some work done. We were greeted with open arms by the owners Terri and Dan and was able to use their Wi-Fi to do some work. We had some great conversations getting to know each other and all of their beer was fantastic! We really enjoyed their Irish stout and I was a big fan of RyeShe Knows their rye IPA. This place is a must see if you’re in the area their beers won’t disappoint. We’ll definitely be back!

This place is a joke. Our wedding party of 8 rented a small van to do the 151 tour. When we pulled into the tiny property we noticed signage saying no tour busses or vans. So we stopped to read the signs and a lady (the owner) came out and rudely addressed us explaining the don't take tour busses or parties after 2, we explained we weren't a tour bus and she exclaimed "since you aren't drunk you can come in" we reluctantly parked the van and went inside. There was almost nobody inside, the owners were behind the bar and started explaining their story. We ordered 4 drinks as only 4 of the 8 of us were drinking, and we headed upstairs. After only a couple of sips we ALL realized the drinks themselves were terrible and undrinkable. So we poured them out and proceeded to leave within 15 minutes of being there. As we left a member of our party lagged behind and heard the owners talking about us before we had even left the property. She was explaining to another patron "Don't worry they're leaving, this isn't their kind of place" which is incorrect. We loved the decor and the backstory. What we did not like was the extremely rude owner and the terrible drinks, so we decided to leave because we were not going to enjoy our time there. I wouldn't recommend going here unless you enjoy bad drinks and poor customer service. Wish Google would let you do less than 1 star.

Stop here. Terri and Dan are extremely friendly. The brewery is in an old barn, which has a hole in the wall/ basement/garage vibe. Simple, welcoming place. We would stop here again.

This was one of my favorite stops during my weekend trip. The atmosphere is incredible. It feels like you’re hanging out at your best friend’s house drinking beer, playing games and having a great time. Highly recommend!!

Friendly place - good vibes, good beer. Low key, so not the place for rowdy bachelor/bachelorette parties :)

Super disappointed in this place. Was our favorite for a couple of years and we recommended it to a ton of people. We had even considered having an upcoming wedding reception there. We went in recently with our child, as we have multiple times in the past, and was told it was 21 and over only. We were then told it was because some unsupervised children almost got hit by a car and it’s for safety? It doesn’t make much sense to me - if unsupervised children are a problem, punish those parents? I can’t think of any other establishment on 151 that doesn’t allow well behaved kids, especially one that has an entire second floor of a barn that is dedicated to entertaining. We were also being told this while a barn cat was standing on the bar (health safety issue much?) . We won’t be going back, kids or no kids. Something to keep in mind for families.

Cool little microbrewery just off Hwy 151. Beers were solid and followed the descriptions very closely. Nice shaded outdoor seating. Can bring your own food. Will definitely return.

My wife and I were out last weekend to visit with our close friends Daniel, Jennifer, and there daughter Crystal. Dan and Terri were welcoming and of course it goes without saying this little gem of a Brewery is great. The beer is some of the best if not the best I have enjoyed and the atmosphere vibe is just the icing on the cake. Even at Delly Up tonight Dan and Terri came up in the conversation talking about the Cinco de Mayo beer from the Brewery. As a racing junkie who grew up at local racetracks like South Boston Speedway I would love to catch a race there with y'all. Looking forward to the next visit.
