Stopped in on a Monday afternoon and enjoyed a tasting of six wines. We had the whole place to ourselves for the most part. Very quirky decor, but tasty wine!

A favorite vineyard / winery! Comfortable and charming inside and outdoor seating. Wonderful wines to sample in the flights offered! And of course I just love the fox theme!!!!!

We were heading south for family vacation and stopped in at the Flying Fox Vineyard. The lady serving us was super knowledgeable and friendly. Everything we tasted was extremely good - especially the Vermouth. If you are traveling through the area I would encourage you to stop in.

We had such a wonderful experience. We got here early on a Friday and had the place pretty much to ourselves. Cooper did our tasting and he honestly couldn’t have been more of a delight. He was so knowledgeable on all of their wine and vermouth, and we felt fully immersed. We can’t wait to travel to Charlottesville again and make another visit here. Hopefully Cooper will still be behind the bar!

When you're driving down alcohol alley (151) and pass Flying Fox winery it's almost a shock to see the big mural on the side of the building where their tasting room is located. Actually once you go inside it's a very nice tasting room. I will say right away that if you like semi-sweet or sweet wines this place is not for you. We tasted 5 wines (2 were sold out) with 2 whites, 1 Rose, and 2 reds. I found all of the wines to be good with personal favorites to be the Table White and their Cabernet Franc.

Small place that offers up various wines and four seasonal vermouths......nobody does vermouth! Very good!

First time driving a group of people here. Parking lot is so small. I watched people drive in and leave because of no parking. I even saw a bus full of customers leave as well. Not a great deal of outside seating in the sun. It was a beautiful day. I went inside, it’s quaint, small, and not a lot of employees working. 5th bus just pulled in with no where to park lol… great day to rent a bus, bad day to come here

Cooper helped us explore the different wine options to pair the best selection to our tastes. Loved the atmosphere and would stay all day!

Visiting Flying Fox Vineyard for the first time was a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and there was a large selection to choose from.

Loved all of their wines and amazed at the fruity, sweet, smooth sipping vermouths. Blew my budget and bought my Christmas gifts here! Jake was great...will definitely return on my next visit to the area (in fact, worth going out of the way for!).

A cool winery with good wine. You can taste the different wines and buy a flight to try. The wine is resonably priced. Staff was super nice and helpful

This is a cool spot! I loved the atmosphere. Very laidback. It’s not a very big place, but it’s full of character. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was raining the day we were there so we never checked outside to see if there was anything cool outback. No worries we will be back because the wine was yummy 🍷🙌🏻💥

Flying fox has a very trendy and hip feel to it. Its not your typical winery. It seems to appeal to a younger crowd. Nonetheless, its a nice experience. New location is easy to find. It gets four stars because the wine is okay, but their vermouth is special.

As far as I can remember this is the only winery I've given 5 stars. First you have to know me a little first to understand why. I do not have a defined pallet to judge wine. I like it or I don't. I make wine with the goal of making it palatable and as high octane as possible. I generally feel uncomfortable at winery settings because alot of the people who attended these things are pencil necked, tie wearing nerds. Lol. I'm a motorcycle riding retired enlisted man.So, with all that being said, the Flying fox had a way different ambiance than all other vineyards I've been to. The building they use was an old factory giving it an industrial feel. The employees were younger, playing current music, giving the whole experience a more edgy feel. The employees were very knowledgeable, friendly and fun. Also, Flying Fox makes Vermouth!!!!!! Perfect for a great Manhattan!!!!! Can't wait to visit again.

Yummy wines and delicious vermouths. Plus chill atmosphere to boot! Just go and enjoy. It’s definitely worth a stop. Favs for us - Pinot Gris, Petit Verdot and spring vermouth rocked!

Great wine selection, from sweet to dry they have you covered. Dogs are welcome which is a plus! This isn’t a super fancy wine place,It’s a small Cabin like feel with great wine.

My husband and I visited on a whim. So so happy that we did. The staff knew the intricacies of their wines and vermouth. They made the tasting a fun, comfortable and personal experience. We loved the ambience and would absolutely come again! We bought the Petite Verdot and the summer vermouth.

Beautiful tasting room, friendly bartenders, delicious wine. Loved the unique take on a vermouth, and some of the experimental wines of the sly fox line.

A very trendy place but I wouldn’t recommend. The wine wasn’t great. People had their feet on the coffee tables. The regular tables inside were too small to fit two flights. The bathrooms were gross and the locks didn’t work. We came to listen to the band but 20 minutes into their set, they stopped and started talking to their friends. Overall, pretty disappointed. Cute atmosphere though.

We really enjoyed our visit to Flying Fox Vineyard! Dogs are allowed outside and we were able to find a great spot in the shade with our dog. As some had previously reviewed, the wines were not too sweet which we were happy about! The vermouth was excellent too!

Awesome time. A classy establishment along Route 151, Flying Fox Winery provided a great start to our experience. We ordered the flight with both the summer and spring vermouths. It was very good and as the other reviewers show in pictures, the sample size was shareable. Besides the two vermouths we were given a sample of three reds and two whites; all had a very full flavor that was delicious. Inside, the space was nice for a semi formal gathering, with a sitting room in the front made for a gathering of 4-8. Outside, there was a large lawn and stage area that made it easy to imagine hosting an outdoor event. Definitely eat beforehand as unfortunately there was no food available and I highly recommend the additional seasons of vermouths if they return for 2022. Thank you!
