Always has plenty of produce in stock. Laid out very effectively so you don't have to walk 10 mi to get what you need. Had an associate named Pam that helped me out today immensely. There are many there that are extremely helpful ...they're competitive prices along with their gas point bonuses make it a very affordable place to shop.

We have been loyal Kroger shoppers for many years, but I am considering the possibility of changing. Food City is local and has built a new store in both Bristol and Abingdon. The Abingdon Kroger is in dire need of a remodel or to be torn down and rebuilt. They need better parking, new restrooms, a cafe or some place to sit and eat, a pharmacy drive-thru, and many other updates! This is a national chain! Surely the profit margin allows for a better venue than this old store!

I’m not sure when this store is going to move into the modern era. The main issues for me are the tight and narrow parking spaces , the structural post that sit in the middle of the store and the strange awkward entrance to the side where you have to dodge other customers while trying to get your cart. My understanding is this store is leased so Kroger has no control over it, but they need to do it WHATEVER steps it takes to hold par with the competition. People are not willing to tolerate these inconveniences anymore. My car has been dinged countless times in the parking lot due to these tiny spaces. Whenever I go into modern grocery store I am struck by the contrast. This being said, the staff are super friendly and nice. Some of these folks have been working here more than 35 years ; that should tell you what a good employer they are. I will still patronize Kroger, before I shop at Food City( where they treated the employees like disposable objects).

I had to ask myself why I keep going here when the people that work at nights are always rude and have a customer is always wrong mentality. Apparently I've just been going there bc it's on my way to other places. I will start going out of my way to go to another grocery store, it's that bad. I even try to avoid the workers there by doing self checkout- and even then they find a way to be rude about some little thing every single time. I know it's hard times for our grocery store workers, so I try to be nice, supportive, and grateful, but here it doesn't seem to matter- they will still be rude. Hoping to save others the trouble by posting this review. Abingdon is lucky in that it has multiple grocery stores to choose from.

Yeah I did an interview there they told me I did really good on it they said I did so much better then the last guy then at the end they told me they we’re going to call me back they never did I called them and they proceeded to lie and say they weren’t hiring . So if you apply at Kroger do not apply at this one they are very rude

Very tight, difficult parking lot to start your experience. The building itself is getting old and worn looking. Good produce and deli sections, with some of the better choices in town. Overall, good variety of products, but a little smaller than most new Kroger’s. They are the only store in town to carry some brands we like, such as Boar’s Head meats, and Homestyle Creamery.

Excellent pickup service. Very good selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Parking sometimes tight; best to come during less busy hours or just park a little further away from the entrance.

My favorite grocery store. Best dairy products. Good sale prices. I dropped my star rating because the store has started to have different prices on the shelf VS what you are charged at checkout. I know this can happen but they don't correct it after you point it out. They will make it right at checkout but you shouldn't have to check every item to see if they charged you the right price.

The items I came for were not in stock. Website should be updated to accurately reflect whether or not an item is actually in stock. The aisle numbers are also incorrect for certain items on website.

They have great sales and a large variety of meats to choose from!! Their employees are very friendly and helpful in finding products for you. The butcher's are very nice and friendly also.I only wish we had a store in Lebanon also because I know that a Kroger Store would do extremely well in this area cause we don't have that many Grocery Stores here to choose from. Terrible store and terrible service. I have never been greeted by an employee at this dirty, unorganized place. There was blood on the floor at checkout and they didn't seem bothered by it. Items are always in the wrong spot with the wrong price and it's like they just randomly stock things in a different place every time. Does this sht hole even have management? I wish other stores had the items only Kroger sells, but I'm stuck going here and it's always a bad experience.

Unless you purchase mylar balloons from the location, they will not blow them up for you. This was so discouraging considering how much I had spent for these balloons online. I asked the associate where I could go and she just shrugged her shoulders and apologized. Especially now, so much shopping is done online and this policy should really change. I went to the Food City 5 mins away and they were happy to blow them up for me.

Great grocery store! Diana that works the customer service desk is the best. So much so, that I specifically go to this grocery store when I need Western Unions and lottery tickets. I love the self check out lane when I'm in a rush. If you don't feel like cooking, try the roasted chicken.

I love the atmosphere of Krogers. The only thing I don't like is they don't take items out of your basket for you. I have neck and shoulder problems. I wish they would. Other than that, it's great!

Good store but woman in customer service is always very very nasty and rude over the phone. Do NOT call here if you don’t want to be spoken to like garbage!

0.5 I was so mad I had told the workers that a product was going to expire in 2 days and they had layed the items sideways so you don't see the expiration date. I went back after Christmas and bless pat they had marked the same items down and on the 26th or 27th the same items that was expired was mixed with items that was dated 13th that was 14 days out of date. I got mad and told one of the front people. They called some guy up to the front and showed him the item I had taken to them proving it was out of date and explained to them I had warned them that the others were mixed in with it was there also. The guy just kept saying he was sorry and I got madder. I had kept it to myself and a few others in that store but I let it go. I had got listeria food poison from that very store in 2016 from general mills nutrition bars. I now have multiple myeloma cancer and have fought to stay alive for over 2 years because no one took the products off the shelf. It was put on sale and I bought boxes of them without knowing. No public recall just tell me when I finally went back to the store. I have bought expired things to their attention several times. But another grocery store is worsre than that the other one actually puts stickers over the expiration date and changes everything. I don't stop going but I will take notice of the dates and tell them again. That is the only way to perfect the displays. I eat that product to try to get the poison out of my kidneys or I wouldn't even get it. Workers need to look at the dates when marking things down. Check dates in all stores.

My daughter went to Kroger's to pick up some money I sent her. A Hispanic lady came to the Customer Service desk to inquire about some coupons. After walking away, the employees at the customer service desk proceeded to make derogatory remarks about this lady regarding her race. My daughter felt the need to speak up and tell them how rude they were and that this lady may not have fully understood. They in turn proceeded to treat my daughter with the same disrespect as the lady. This was most definitely RACIST and also should be considered a type of bullying. I know the reason they treated my daughter in such a manner is because she is Hispanic as well. IS this the kind of image Kroger's wants the public to see???????????? Is this the representation they want?????????? I give Kroger's NO STARS FOR NO CLASS!!!!!!!

Store not to bad but they are almost always out of sale items when you go there and I think that if I'm going to shop there they should have a cashier on at all times, because some of us don't like the self check out lines, we should have a choice.

Drinks didnt ring up right. Cashier jeot me waiting whike checking price. Then tried telling me i didnt buy enough to get the deal. Then realizing i did. She IMPATIENTLY fixed it abd bever said sorry or thank u or have a nice day. NOT WORTH IT

One of the worst Kroger's around. Once you walk in though the cloud of cigarette smoke lingering at the front, your immediately fighting your way through the crowd of people trying to leave since this Kroger only has a single entrance/exit (and half the time it's full of shopping carts making it more crampt)The deli staff will sigh at you if you order anything and forget about getting your cold-cuts sliced thinly.The deli carries an enormous selection of multigrain bread but only 1 or 2 loaves of anything you actually would like to eat.

This used to be a great Kroger, but since the Bristol store was redone a few years ago, I've noticed that the Abingdon Kroger has suffered from neglect. If you go later in the evening, it's hard to find a cashier. The choices are not very broad in any department, but the craft beers are very limited. Glad I live in Bristol, but for the times I'm in Abingdon and need something, Food City is really a better choice.

Have always liked Kroger....the closest store to me is in Abingdon, Virginia.They have fresh meats, anything you want, fresh produce, wonderful selection of bakery itemsThis IS a grocery store!Wythe and or Smyth Counties need one!!!

Kroger's needs to post their business office hours on their website. They lost hours of pharmacy etc, but not the business office hours. It would save customers time and gas if they knew in advance.
