I stay at a whole lot of hotels and this Holiday Inn Express is by far my favorite. The service is always top notch, the rooms are clean and updated, the place has TWO elevators (something you don't fully appreciate until you stay at several hotels back to back with only 1 elevator), the fitness room is huge and has a full dumbbell rack, there's plenty of well lit parking, and you can walk to several restaurants and a grocery store. But honestly the service is what sells it for me. I wish every Holiday Inn was like this one. Oh and you can watch deer in the field in the morning and evening.

The best vacation!! We had so much fun. So much to do! The creeper trail. Places and things to do was always like 10 to 15 minutes away!! Plus having a 4 day weekend we were able to do alot of different things.The only thing I would say is to make the indoor pool a heated pool!!We went in it after all that biking on the creeper trail and I just wanted to relax in the pool, but it wasn't warm it was cold . My son played in it for a but we couldn't stand in for too long. That would have been so nice to have a nice hot/warm pool to sit and relax in. Other than that I was more than pleased. The staff was amazing the breakfast was awesome and actual real breakfast which saved us money from having to go out and get breakfast from somewhere. The room was absolutely beautiful and seeing the horses in pretty much at your back door was very cool.I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was an amazing and awesome weekend

We were staying at the hotel this weekend. My wife and I are in our 50s and we are authors and journalists. We live a quiet life and enjoy getting away for a weekend now and again. We were just called by the front desk at 21:40 on Sat 14th Oct - told we were making too much noise and there were complaints of a confrontation and if we did not stop we would be thrown out of the Hotel. First, we are quiet and watching the TV. Other than my wife and I talking now and again, there was no noise. In fact, I was in the middle of writing an article for a magazine. The desk staff, who called, had an attitude and was very unprofessional. We suggest that proper information is deduced before jumping and judging with the wrong conclusions. This hotel is expensive enough to have the shoddy service and negative communication we just experienced. Watch out for a new article soon on this event.After checking out other reviews on here, it seems this is a common issue. This will certainly make for good reading to alert other vacationers about the service at this hotel and the common thread of noise complaints when there really are none. The structure is not built for sound. Its obviously built without real integrity to maximize profit without consideration.

My husband and I stay at this hotel every month. For the past two visits, our room phone has rang just once at 8:30 am. No one there. I thought nothing if it last month but this month I realized it is a wake up call. The hotel called me “as a courtesy” at 10:30 am reminding me that check out is at 11. This was not a courtesy call. I have NEVER had a hotel call thirty minutes before check out basically telling me to get my butt out. I paid for the room until 11. I have the right to stay in it until then. My husband is a platinum elite ihg rewards member. This was not platinum treatment. Very unhappy.

Pros: This is a newer hotel that overall appears clean and staff were friendly. It had laundry for a small fee. It is super close to Main Street in Abington and has a shopping area across the street. Room overall was comfortable. Cons included that the floors do not have a lot of sound proofing as I could hear every step the person above me made even with ear plugs. We turned off the air conditioner at one point and when we came back in the room, it smelled like dirty feet and I don’t believe it was ours. Lastly, the weekend breakfast ends at 9:30 whereas most hotels end at 10:30 on weekends. Overall stay was fine but could be improved with a few small tweaks.

Hotel is conveniently located with restaurants and grocery within a few minutes walking distance. The hotel was nice and clean, rooms were clean and modern. Unfortunately my check in, which was at 3pm, was delayed. I arrived around 3:40 and still had to wait till about 4pm to get checked in. I only stayed one night, room 318 has a lovely view over the lake and farmland behind the hotel. Breakfast was good with scrambled eggs, bacon and waffle makers available, among other things. I did not use the pool but it was very small. If I had stayed longer I may have made use of the weight room, I was happy with the selection though for any fitness nut, it's kind of small.

Katie was very helpful when we arrived earlier than the regular check-in time. She was able to grant us access to the pool area so the 5 kids who just sat in a car for 6 hours got the chance to move and play. The rooms were ready right on time and everything was perfect. The breakfast the next day was delicious and kept stocked up so we never had to wait for anything we needed.

We’ve traveled all over the country and this Holiday Inn Express is definitely one of our favorites. Great location right off 81. Conveniently located. 20 minutes from Damascus.Super nice check in. Recognized we were members.The room was one of the cleanest we’ve been in. The air worked and didn’t cut off at night. The beds were comfortable. Everything in order. Awesome!And their sheets!!! Someone please tell me where I can buy a king set. They are the best!

1. Management evidently failed elementary school, because all the room numbers are out of order.2. If you follow the directions that they put in their app, you will go to the wrong place. Again, evident failure at elementary school level.3. Hotel is understaffed, so you may have to wait 15 minutes like I did to check in.4. This hotel is one of the last hotels on planet Earth that still demand your license plate number to check in, which is pretty stupid. Write it down before you go in (or just pick a hotel with better management?).5. Usually, only hotels in ghettos require you to swipe a card. Not sure why these people need me to swipe a card when I have a credit card on file. What was the point of filling out that stuff on their app???6. Hotel itself looks nice. Just needs new management that passed elementary school and it will be great.

The hotel itself is newer and clean, staff is nice, breakfast was good, but it was 29° outside, and we had to keep our air on 65° all night with the fan on high. The room was super hot all night. Brought this to the attention of the clerk when I checked out. She didn’t seem too concerned that I was paying over $100 to sleep somewhere that I couldn’t sleep. I slept maybe an hour all together.I know that this was an issue before we stayed, because the air conditioning was set to on when we checked in. I’m a person that is constantly cold, so I know if I’m hot there’s an issue. Also, many thanks to the lady who was running the breakfast. Super nice.

This is the most clean place I have ever stayed. The staff are friendly and so nice. I am almost afraid to touch anything for fear of getting it dirty. I could not find a dust bunny or cobweb anywhere. Covid does not stand a chance here. I went over it with my U.V light and nothing I have never had that happen. At a hotel there is always something on carpet or somewhere. It is that clean.

this is a true five star place to stay. New and very modern with a wonderful breakfast. Great location to downtown Abingdon and restaurants. i can't say enough good things about the staff. I have a special need which they went out of there way to accommodate when it would have been so easy for them to say no. I'll be forever appreciative .

Easy in easy out. Staff was polite and friendly. Rooms were great and the beds were some of the best I've slept in. Everything here is new and very up to date. Only thing I didn't care for was not being able to have a TV quite or a paper with a list of stations. The breakfast is what was to be expected right nkw with the pandemic scare going on. Other than that I would most certainly stay here again during my travels
