First, the Starbucks in this location is actually awful. Employees eating while making drinks, they are untrained, and don’t know how to make drinks (I’ve worked at Starbucks for years)The store itself is huge, clean, nice, and has lots of options. This is one of the better Food City’s however, I wouldn’t trust the meat on the salad bar because I don’t trust it is rotated on schedule. It was looking a little off.

Looked fresh and full but lacking in organic choices. I'm sure the local guys have great produce and meat but the added chemicals today's farmers use are killing folks. Would prefer to not eat all of the junk that's extra. And NO, it doesn't wash off!

Stopped for a fruit bowl and a Starbucks. The prepackaged mixed fruit was very cold but not very fresh. They Starbucks had a limited but nice selection including chocolate covered coffee beans.

Absolutely the worst place to go as a truck driver. If you are a truck driver and looking up reviews on this place before you go.. please don’t waste your time . Unless you have all day to waste there because that’s how long they take to unload your truck..

I am a loyal customer...groceries..gas as well. I frequent the store several times each week. I always take my 5 lb Maltipoo..I don't ever put her in the cart..or let her on the floor... not to mention I keep her very clean..I always try to be considerate of others...Today I was at self check out and Austin approached me while I was checking out and bagging my groceries..Went in to this spill that I cannot bring my dog in..This guy has no clue about customer service...and as that wasn't enough..another guy said I have to bag wine like I don't know this..I absolutely felt that I was being attacked and harrassed. .Sad how one person can change your entire opinion of a place. He's definitely not good for business..WOW.. You would have thought that I was committing a crime.. How rude..My entire family are Food City customers and my nephew drives for Food City...I posted another comment and it disappeared. Hopefully this one doesn't..Don't worry...I will never be back again....I feel he (Austin) thought he could intimidate me..I'm not easily intimidated..I bet if it were a big burley guy..he would not have approached him..

New Food City in Abingdon Virginia is a nice new store . Very busy but everyone has room to shop and move around. They have a lot more products than than the Food City stores that are not new like this one . In and out shopping.

Always appreciate the clean well kept salad bar and many hot grab and go food options and even the sushi is good. Starbucks and a beer/wine bar onsite. Lines are always speedy as well.

I shop here daily, and I am very disappointed in the rotisserie chicken, I have bought at least 10 that are still pink, so I waited about 6 months and just stopped in and picked up a rotisserie chicken and like the others was still very pink, probably the pinkest yet. So unfortunately I will no longer but them there, and will most likely shop elsewhere.

I gave my local Food City 2 stars because of their poor quality produce department. Just don't buy your vegetables here. Broccoli is limp with mostly massive stems from several trimmings, lettuce is brown and wilted, and the mushrooms that should be pristine white are streaked with brown from age. Not just gross to look at, but downright dangerous to consume at that point! I drive to Food Lion in Mountain City now, twice the drive, but worth it.

I am so thankful for my Abingdon Food City Bakery! I met with a cake decorator for help with our nephews’ 4th birthday cake! I asked them to do a cake with a very basic police badge so that I could add a toy police car to the top of the cake when I got it home. They did such an awesome job and the results were perfect! The boys loved it and it was delicious!

Clean store rude employees. Deli worker getting saladbar huffing because she had to wait for me to add my veggies, cashier who was very polite to an officer in self checkout but barely said hello to me and I had to ask for her to give me my receipt and a bag for my items. Won't visit again.

Normally I have a great experience at this store. However today was not the best experience. I went to the store to pick up dinner. I went and picked out two salmon filets. I was shocked when I received the salmon filets as to how they were packaged. My two salmon filets were thrown in a plastic bag. I spoke to the manager concerning this and was informed that I had to request the meat to be packaged on a Styrofoam tray. So I have to request my Salmon, which is a flaky fish that falls apart easy be packaged securely so they remain filets? Well thats very confusing to me. Lol I just wanted to give a friendly tip to everyone. Make sure to request your meat doesn't go into a plastic bag. On a positive note the manager was very friendly and very helpful. That's about all I can say went well about this awkward visit to Food City. Lol

Food City is one of my least favorite grocery stores in the area. Mostly because everything is so expensive. The location is convenient for people in town. It provides jobs for kids in the area to start at. It has a decent selection and layout. I'll still give it 3 stars for these reasons but I would prefer to buy my groceries somewhere with lower prices.

This Food City is one of the newer ones in the area. Each one has a distinctive vibe. This one has local restaurants on a rotation to serve their food in the Cafe as well as their regular offerings. I was most impressed with the design of the Cafe in this location. They have a Central Fireplace with a TV mounted above the mantle. There is room for a small group to gather for lunch ( I saw a group of about 10 ladies having lunch together, tables for 2, 4, 6 or in front of the TV they have club chairs with a tray table attached.
