I don't really leave google reviews, but I just happened to see a 2 star review from a lady who says her dog's nails weren't trimmed properly when she came during a high volume time. Honestly, you have got to be kidding me, lady. This is one of very few animal clinics in this area - we have sick and dying pets and you are worried about your dogs nails?? Go to the dog salon for that. Sheesh.I'm so lucky that instead of worrying about dog nail length, Kedron Valley was able to get my cat in without any notice when she was displaying concerning symptoms. Turned out to be cancer. The doctor took the time to break the news to me gently, run multiple tests (after providing a quote), and answered all the questions I had both at that visit and afterwards. This was not my first time at Kedron Valley and the staff have always been prompt, respectful, and caring. We are so lucky to have such in-depth care for our pets nearby.

Awesome, professional care during a stressful incident. Our wonderful dog Bella did something she has not done since she was a puppy: she chewed and ate something that was not food...a huge rawhide glove that is used when we empty with our woodstove. When we realized what happened, we brought her to Kedron. We are new to the area but they treated her like she was a life-long client. Detailed x-rays, consultation, surgery, and 6 prescriptions followed. We were fully informed and give cost estimates every step of the way. Bella is on day 4 of her recovery and doing wonderfully. We received 2 follow-up calls on Days 1 & 2. We are very grateful and are thankful for ALL of the professionals at Kedron. Special thanks to Dr. Richards, Bella's surgeon. Photo is 24 hours after operation.

We do not live in Woodstock and made appointments with The Kedron Valley Vet to get our dog immunized against Lyme disease. Our first visit several weeks ago went well - the fill-in Saturday vet examined our dog and was very pleasant. Today's visit was different. The clinic was under duress due to several sick visits. That not-with-standing, the service was rushed and almost rude. And despite the duress, the front desk person still had plenty of time to make confirmation calls for Monday appts, always clearly stating the 24 hour cancellation policy. I, myself, received at least 2 calls and an email reminder about our vaccine appointment today. And before whisking my dog off for his vaccine, the vet tech matter-of-factly stated (did not discuss or ask) my dog was going to get a Lyme and heart worm test which I promptly declined. (My dog is on a heart worm preventative and is tested by our vet in Texas). I also asked for a nail trim which was very reluctantly done, rushed, and cost $30. Nails were trimmed minimally, given explanation about the quick being too long. The Saturday fill-in vet (not one of the practice owners) last month did a thorough nail trim with no quick story. That vet was not here today.I understand it may be tough to run a small business but this clinic leaves a bad impression. Service did not seem to be the first priority. In addition, one of our neighbors here, a long-time Woodstock resident, mentioned similar experiences when I mentioned we were taking our dog to Kedron Valley Vet for his Lyme vaccine. She was right. We will not be returning.

Kedron Valley is an amazing practice with amazing people. They have the best bedside manner of any vet I have ever seen and I would never go to another clinic after visiting them. To dispute a negative review on here, they always fully inform me before any treatment or shots and even pull up a list of quotes BEFORE I say yes or no. They have even pulled up quotes for different options and gave me the pros and cons of each one. Nothing has ever been done without my fully-informed consent. In short, these guys are the best!

I have worked mostly with Dr. Richard. She is very caring toward my dogs, their medical needs. She is very knowledgeable and has answers to all of my questions. I especially love the personalized attention that all of the staff give to my four dogs. Email follow ups and reminders are great! I also love the birthday greetings I get via email for each of my babies. I really feel that they care about all of them.

My wife brought our 2-year-old cat here for what appeared to be an upper respiratory issue. He was sneezing, coughing, and had some minor watering of the eyes. After examining our cat and listening to my wife describe these symptoms, Dr. Blakeley concluded that our cat had an eye infection (huh?) and required an expensive ophthalmic ointment. I've had eye infections and have had pets with them; there was literally nothing that would have led a reasonable person (never mind a doctor), to this conclusion. None-the-less that's what she came up with. This seemed so inappropriate to me that I called a veterinary friend of mine, described the symptoms and he immediately concluded that it was almost certainly the cat-equivalent of a cold, and virtually eliminated the possibility that any sort of ophthalmic ointment would have been appropriate. He said that the ocular system cannot drain into the sinus system, but the reverse can happen. Bottom line, there’s no way Dr. Blakeley’s diagnosis was correct. So now the real issue. I called and spoke with Dr. Blakely and thoughtfully and respectfully expressed my concern about her diagnosis. She agreed that it was probably a respiratory issue. She even stated that she put a dye into the cat’s eye and saw no evidence of any sort of eye issue. So, I suggested that she credit us back for the $98.15 worth of unnecessary ophthalmic ointment. She said that we had already taken it from their clinic so she wouldn’t take it back. Of course the only reason we took it from her clinic was because she failed to properly diagnose the issue. Also… when my wife went to pay the bill they tried to charge her the full amount of the visit plus-plus, even though she had prepaid for the appointment over the phone hours earlier, since that’s what they require for a first-time visit. The doctor also recommended that my wife purchase a $153 cat monitor that we didn’t need any more than the ophthalmic ointment. Fortunately, my wife didn’t buy it.So… caveat emptor if you walk into this clinic! They don’t appear to know the basics of veterinary medicine, but they do know how to sell stuff, and they’ll stand behind their misdiagnosis and excessive charges to the end.

Having four large dogs, two of them elderly, the right vet care and clinic is important. Kedron Valley Veterinary Clinic is perfect for our pack. Especially during this time of social distancing, they have done a tremendous job of keeping us informed, and they are doing a great job handling all the changes. I recently brought in two of my dogs for routine care. The tech picked up and delivered each dog back to my car while I spoke to the dr on the phone. While I couldn't go into the clinic, they made me feel involved in the visit. They handled everything professionally, form appointment setting to checkout. I will be back this week with my other two dogs.

They make their practice seemingly complicated to hoodwink you into thinking they are sophisticated, justifying how they charge (check your bill for proof). In actuality, they are not sophisticated-they are just annoyingly bureaucratic which wastes your time and money. Before you send your dog in, ensure they call you for your approval before they administer any medication and then charge you for it. You are the owner and know better than them. Do not let them to smugly use their discretion to treat your pet. It will cost you money and can potentially harm your dog (as it did mine). Better yet, take them to Rutland Veterinary, an honest practice where their service is to treat animals, not themselves.

We were traveling from Key Largo, Fl., and had an emergency with our small Yorkie. They fit us in on short notice and we’re able to take care of our small dog, along with providing medication to continue to treat the problem as we traveled home. Courteous, professionals and prompt care - one couldn’t ask for more.

Our Vet and Tech were amazing! Responsive and so caring. Didn’t run any unnecessary tests and were very straightforward. I appreciated their quick assessment and that they were so kind to my puppy while she was in pain.

We were visiting Woodstock for the weekend and had an emergency with our dachshund. They saw us immediately, diagnosed him & gave us the appropriate medication to get him comfortable. Wonderful vet & staff! They made our dog and me feel so comfortable in a stressful situation. Highly recommend and thank you again Dr Richards & Hannah :)

The first appointment went well and the doctor was very kind and thorough. It took over 2 months to be seen as a new patient, which seems unreasonable. (They said it’s the pandemic, but it seems to be VT in general, as I was able to see a vet in GA and my dog’s dermatology specialist in PA in a week’s time). I hope they will be able to get my dog in sooner if she’s sick.

I wanted to comment on this five star review and emphasize that the doctors and staff at this clinic really go above and beyond. They have investigated and advocated for my dog beyond what I would expect. This is patient-centered care. They are technically effective and warm-hearted.

We drove all the way from Boston because our dog had a really bad ear infection and we couldn't get it fixed at home. She was in so much pain so we decided to bring her here. The staff and the doctor were wonderful! Not only they cleaned her ear and prescribed the antibiotics that helped her almost immediately, they also stayed open longer to see her. Highly recommend this practice!

I appeared without an appointment with a very sick dog on morning recently. Emma was very courteous and Dr. Richards took her right in to be seen even though she had a surgery schedule to keep. I took two more animals in the following week and was very pleased with the interaction and decisiion-making with the other vet (whose name I failed to get). She was also professional and compassionate and I would recommend this group to my friends.

We had a great experience with Stanley, our 17 year old lab/beagle mix at the end stage of his life - the care and advice was right on. Philippa is very compassionate and super knowledgeable and though the clinic is always busy, she gives intentional quality time each time we visit.Winnie the 14 year old feral cat also loves Philippa, and we recently were able to bring here in on short notice without an appointment for a UTI, which Philippa diagnosed quickly with a urinalysis and then treated on the spot with antibiotics, which worked for Winnie. Even though Winnie doesn't like traveling to the vet, she was very calm and content while Philippa worked with her.Highly recommend.

Everyone is really nice here but it's definitely not the cheapest vets to go to. If you're on a budget I'd call around or wait for one of the discount clinics in the area.
