Cashier was so friendly. Found everything we needed for a week with the kids while they snowboarded in the mountains.Legitimately looking to see if someone can ship me some brownie cookies because I’m pregnant and they were the most delicious thing I’ve ever had.

Below average selection, score seafood 1/10, deli 1/10, meats 4/10, produce 5/10The male cashiers have been incredibly rude, old curmudgeons, on at least four visits. They seem to be especially rude if they think you’re not from around here. They are understaffed on holidays and big weekends and take out the frustration on the customer.

Not a bad place to get groceries with a large produce and meat section. (avoid the deli section) but the rest is fine. They have actually improved somewhat with an organic section. The beer section carries a wide variety from the name brands to local microbreweries.

My girlfriend and I are from out of town visiting the area. We needed items to prepare our dinner. The store was clean and had everything we needed. However, the customer service was very disheartening. When it was time for us to checkout, the cashier named Joe didn’t greet us professionally. He was finishing up with a customer, and looked at us and said “now you two”. The customer that was leaving said “they look like trouble” Joe proceeded to say “ I see it”. Joe conversed with me while ringing up our groceries. I let him know that my girlfriend and myself have professions that don’t allow us to “be trouble”. I let him know that I was visiting the area and where I was from. He checked us out, but we left feeling disrespected and sad. I called the corporate office to file a complaint. The store manager called me right away, and apologized. We are not sure what will happen to Joe but we hope proper action will be taken. Lastly, if you are a minority visiting this area be aware that this store wasn’t welcoming. If I could give zero stars I would!

Customer service doesn’t matter here, I went to go get a veggie platter and surprise, surprise there was none premade like usual. So I decided I was going to make my own I grabbed all the veggies and dip and I needed a tray to put them in. I asked a produce clerk and he said “I can go ask my boss” which he didn’t seem very interested in doing. We walked back to the back room and he walked in the door then came back out 2 seconds later saying no which means he didn’t ask anyone cause I asked the deli first and they peeked into the produce room and no one was in there. No motivation whatsoever.

Don't order platters through their online platform. It won't work. They will tell you that you didn't place your order far enough in advance on the day of pick up, even though you did it more than the 48 hrs prior, leaving you in a lurch to find a different alternative, since they are the only store in the area they don't have incentive to provide good customer service.

Their drive up and go service was so good. We order online and never have to go into the store. Several times they have even called us to offer a substitution. Great service. The only bummer is that they are so often out of stock on items they have listed online. They don't call anymore and don't give printed receipts. You are supposed to look online which is a nuisance. I'm addition they have changed their site so that. it no longer works as well as it did at all.

Expensive, lack of continuity in product. The cashier is so lazy he won't help people bag groceries. I'd expect more with the prices they charge.

Great supermarket that will most likely have what you're looking for. However because it's in a small town the prices are over the top so I try to only come here if I have to. Friendly staff and extremely clean and well put together store. Great deli in the back and the produce is always phenomenal. Definitely buy their store made guacamole, it's so good!!

Crowded, narrow aisles with too high shelves. Carts of garbage and other employee items left laying around. This store needs a self checkout! No "10 items or less" lane. You wait with your 2 items for someone with $500 worth of groceries to be rung out. Pricey. But the only retail grocery giant in town.

Great selection and prices. Full selection of beer and wine as well.Found everything I needed for a few days in ski country and Wild Card Weekend football.Produce was very fresh and the fruit tray tasted fantastic. Cheeses and salami, etc for a charcuterie board were very tasty! Loved the gorgonzola.

Been here once or twice a year. First time interacting with a very unfriendly/rude staff (Bonnie). No greeting( what's up with customer service nowadays) The older doesn't give you the right to be rude. Handle our groceries, push our stuff through roughly. If you hate your job then just quit.

Shaws is the best. They always work their hardest to keep customers satisfied, and sometimes the customers in this area can be quite difficult. A young lady, Dawn, ran around the store with me to find everything I was looking for. What amazing service!👏

Groceries are priced with tourists in mind...expensive...only grocery store for miles so locals are at a disadvantage. Love the crew as they are known local folks to us. It is a small store but they try to accommodate the public. Produce is good and meats change over frequently. Last year it was one of the highest revenue producing Shaw's per capital, in the nation. They accommodate the elderly with early shopping hours Tuesday and Thursday, 7am thru 9am...please take note and respect this exception...please.

What a great place! My family and I were visiting family in the area and didn't know what to expect with local stores. This place was amazing!!!! Great selection, solid name brands, and great service from the employees we interacted with.

Its the only staple grocery store really in town, can get flooded by disrespectful out of towners, but its a good place being the only place. Prices are a little high, but what isnt with the rise of the economy. People are personable and nice.

The worst. Edit: A grocery store doesn't have to provide an above average experience to receive 5 stars from me. They just have to let me feel the same way when I leave as when I entered. I like grocery shopping, so that shouldn't be hard. This is the baseline I'm setting to paint you a picture of how bad of an experience I have every time I go into Wilmington Shaws (the closest full grocery store to me). I try to avoid it, but the next closest grocery store adds a half hour drive each way, so sometimes I convince myself that Shaws will be worth the savings of an hour round trip. It never is. Why do I feel awful every time I leave this one grocery store? I have never bought meat there without the package either leaking on my hand when I pick it up, or it leaking in the bag. Today it was chicken juice all over the inside of my bag and everything towards that touched the bottom. I should know better than to pack Shaws meat with other groceries. But I get used to packing everything in one bag at other grocery stores and the meat not leaking. The chicken didn't leak on my hand, however. So I'm wondering if it sprung a leak when the cashier was chucking my stuff down the conveyor at check out. I guess the conveyor wasn't fast enough? She seemed to be panicking because the two open checkout lanes couldn't handle the 5 people trying the check out and the line was backing up into multiple aisles. She had been asked to swap out by the cashier who was working my lane when I got into line, so I think that ruined her day. I get it. I didn't want to add any stress to the day. So I didn't mention when none of my digital coupons were applied. Overall, I don't think I've had one positive interaction with the staff, which is unusual for any other business I interact with. I'm delightful! Anyhow, today was just one more day in the years of battling with the "drive to Brattleboro or suffer Shaws" mental debate. For now, I'll stick to the pricier small markets in the area when I don't want to drive, and stock up on the bigger store variety of items when I make the trip to Brattleboro. I mean, I'm sure I'll end up back at Shaws sooner or later because I'm Charlie Brown and I keep trusting that football.

I have been repeatedly subjected to racial discrimination at this particular store. I will state the store has several exemplary workers but has in its hire racist cashiers. I dealt with the third such cashier today. Her line was the only check out line in the store and she spent an inordinate amount of time even after completing the checkout before me. She then rudely engaged me. I am a 2nd home owner who spends more time in whitingham. It is unfortunate that I must deal with racism at Shaws.

Great super market, highly recommended. Good selection for a small town supermarket, much better than expected. Produce is fresh, wide variety of meats. Usually isn't too busy even during peak hours.

Really appreciate the safety measures they've implemented to protect the customers. While many stores are price gouging, Shaw's has kept them fair and even brought in some large, commercial sized foods to offer out community affordable bulk options. Thank you Shaw's for keeping us feed during this crisis.

Nice place. Check receipt don't get special that are advertised had to show receipt to management twice to receive specials that are advertised in store. Also no alcohol if you have anyone under 21 with you. I'm 52 and they wouldn't sell me alchohol because i had my kids with me who are 18yrs and 20yr old. SMH

It's a very clean store but doesn't have a wide variety of products but being the only store in a community it goes out of there way to try to accommodate if you ask to get products and the staff are very nice and the management are out in the floor helping hands on ... Never seen Shaw's before this town but it reminds me of a nature's food patch kinda vibe

This is a very good supermarket. Lots of choices, including a deli counter, fresh vegetables, a section of ethnic foods, and a wine isle. They are really service-oriented. We're lucky to have them in our village.

Just left Shaw’s extremely unhappy with one of the employees working the register. I won’t mention names but the cashier was very rude to my family and I, refused to bag our stuff then proceeded to hand us the items unbagged. She not only gave us attitude but also gave the lady behind us attitude. I was purchasing an alcoholic beverage, mind you I am 25 years old with a child, and she told MY mother that she had to okay my purchase..there was a younger family member in our group where she then accused me of purchasing it for her and then told us we all needed ID’s to purchase MY alcohol even though we were paying separately... Overall, my trip to the grocery store for a few small items was ridiculous.

Good selection despite small size. Can be crowded at times...should take over space next door to make more room. Great fresh bread options if you are so inclined.
