O. M. G. it's great. If you're looking for a regular grocery or department store, go elsewhere. If you like to treasure hunt, then this is THE place! I went on the advice of a friend (who got a $300 Staub pot for $130!). We got loads of exotic groceries (like marzipan), I got a new fishing pole for $15 (rod, reel, and line), and I'm kicking myself for not looking at the bicycles. Yes, many of the cans are dented, and some of the stuff is near (or just past) its expiration date, but that doesn't really matter for most things.

It’s always a hit and miss adventure stopping into the Vermont discount store! I often find items that I cannot find in a regular supermarket like kosher foods and gluten-free vegan options in shelf stable groceries.The staff is always friendly

It's such an interesting mix; a surprising amount of bougie items. Loads of gluten free and vegan foods. Fair trade chocolate. Organic chickpeas.Good quality clothing like Orvis, and also cheapo stretchy shapeless clothes. A different assortment of random things every time:Ankle weights. Manga. Inflatable mattresses. Bicycles. Vacuum cleaners. Pajama sets. Wigs. Greeting cards, furniture, extension cords, makeup, school supplies, Christmas trees, phone cases, candy.

We go here every week for our shopping trips. You never know what you’ll find here. There’s nothing wrong with expired dried goods or crushed cans. As a kid, our mother would serve us food that was slightly past the expiration date for YEARS! I’m still here🙂

Selection is a little scarce, and certain used items, are sold at almost retail price, but the friendly staff, the over the counter items, and pet supplies makes up for it.

It's a place you can go when you're on a budget. There's a variety of packaged food on the shelves which is priced to move. They are generous people. If a food product doesn't sell within a certain time frame, they mark the price down until it does. Also, for customers who don't have much money, there often is a shelf with food provided at no cost. Quite extraordinary.

I love this disco! Also glad they've stopped using the cleaning supplies that make it smell like a rest home. You can find real steals here and old cereal. Akin to gambling on dry goods at times, but in general 9/10 times the snacks are relatively fresh and no one wants to be buying $6 triscuits at the big new grocery store, thats dumb. Here you can get crackers for $1.59, and usually they are still pretty delicious.

Really great service and deals. Stuff is pretty well organized and considering the type of store they have a decent selection. And you never know what great deal you will find there cause new stuff is always coming in. Definitely recommend.

Excellent source for non-perishables or long term storage foods or cupboard items. Items are slightly marred or past best by date, so if you're ok with some dented packaging... Different items all the time, worth checking in every so often to see what's new

The staff are friendly, the music is great, the prices are amazing, the selection is always changing so there are fun surprises every trip - and the whole point of the store is to reduce waste!! Stores like this should be all over the state and country.

Last time I shopped here, I thought I was getting a hell of a bargain by buying a good amount of discount food. Turns out, the food I bought from them had all been expired by a few months and about all of them had to be thrown away. It might've been $10 worth but it's still a waste. The staff needs to really be looking at foods for expiration dates.Otherwise, an okay store.

They have an amazing selection of foods that are barely expired and perfectly good. Some decent footwear and clothing. Some good looking furniture and appliances and even some decent electronic stuff.There stock is not always the same so checking back in everyone once in a while is a good idea.They do also have some really old stuff particularly in the electronics section so make sure your things are compatible.And of course it's all super inexpensive. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for stuff on a budget.

Bargain bin hunters playground. Excellent if youre looking for a cheap deal on dented cans and slightly expired dry goods. I spend 50-60 bucks and walk put of there with a big box packed with good stuff everytime!

You just never know what you may find! New items arrive all the time! This should be your first stop if you're looking for furniture, light fixtures, bathtubs, and more! They have a great selection of clothing and shoes for the entire family. Sporting goods like a kayak, catchers equipment, punching bag, and baseball socks. There's kids toys, law and garden goods, and automotive supply. If you like it, but it! There's no guarantee that it will be there the next time!

Always a little fun to walk around and see what's here. Get some of the returns from other stores. Pricing can be inconsistent to great. Always check expiration dates to make sure you are comfortable with it. We've found brand new pants for $7 here! And where else can you find matzo meal for 25c

Some amazing discounts for frugal people. But pricing often inconsistent and sometimes items not cheaper than nearby stores. Items may be past best buy date.- - be aware. The store always smells funny although store floor itself seems clean enough.

Very good prices on perfectly good items from food, otc medications, clothes, appliances, and furniture. They get some pretty great stuff but it goes quick so it's best to stop by frequently. My understanding of their items are they are floor models, returned slightly damaged, new, past expiration, etc.

Great place to get discount groceries and household goods. If you're not afraid if dented boxes this place is a gold mine, easy 50%+ savings on grocery store prices with a really good rotating selection of organic and gluten-free goods. Not a super glamorous store, but that would defeat the point of a discount store :)

Great deals. If you are shopping for discounts then stop here. They have rugs, furniture, food, clothes, plus plenty of misc items. Don't expect to walk into a glamorous store, that isn't what you should expect to find with discounted shops. Expect to walk into a warehouse set up with discounted items. Staff is friendly. I have purchased two couches here in two different trips so far and I will definitely be returning for other items going forward.

(Mostly) great discounts on the things you use or need. They've expanded their natural and organic section, for me that's a big plus.If you know prices, you'll spot the bargains, because not everything is a deal.I can get non-expired items for less at other stores in some cases.But if you are a conscientious shopper, you'll know!

For what it is, it's a great store. Their "second hand" groceries, and households supplies have amazing prices and are well organized. The furniture isn't a bargain. Would be nice if they spruced up the interior - it's just a ware house inside.

This place is a hidden Gem! Every time we visit our relatives in Vermont, it is always a must stop on our travels. If you are looking for furniture especially, ask for Bill! He is super friendly and knowledgeable. My one daughter calls him "Uncle Bill". :) Don't change a thing! See you soon!

I used to love to stop into this store when in the area. Not so much after my last couple of visits. Prices on most items are not all that discounted. Store wasn't all that clean either. Think it was bought out and things changed along with the name. Used to be Mr. G now Vermont discount store. Won't go again.

Be very careful! The highest store manager, Bill, was working in the furniture department, the more slender one, roughly in his 50's, white, with glasses about 6" tall, 185lbs, wearing glasses attempted to assult my four year old in the furniture section today. He was shoving furniture around and near chased us out of the furniture section. Pushing a heavy flat furniture box right at my childs feet nearly kocking her down and right behind my back.I turned around to see her pinned up against large standing piece of furniture. The manager never apologized. He just glared wide-eyed and said "I was watching. I have kids of my own!"I will NOT be going there again. And I don't suggest going there with children. It is not a safe place and does not uphold community integrity.
