Christin Robinson is an amazing manager, deserves a raise and is the epitome of great customer service. I came to the Williston, VT location thinking I was within the return window for a very expensive garmin in watch. In my mind I believed I had 1 year since REI’s website did not list watches under 90 day exception. I found this out upon arrival. I was a few weeks past the 90 days and was very disheartened that I would be losing close to $1,100 on a watch I didn’t need. After the first store employee couldn’t help, Christin stepped in and spoke calmly and explained the whole policy. I had literally given up and accepted that I was not going to get the refund when she handed me the receipt and said the money was refunded and to have a good day. She went above and beyond to help out a customer. I will now be an REI customer for life because of this. Thank you Christin and thank you REI for taking care of your customers.

My first time at the store - I we so excited to explore and have a nice experience.Its a beautiful store... Love the layout.I needed assistance to find a pair of Topo shoes this past Sunday 1/21.I greeted the employee and politely asked for help finding them. He did not recipricate my kind greeting and just walked over to the shoes and pointed toward them, saying, in a gruff tone - Here they are.I looked about for a bit, and just decided to leave.I will not return, as there are other like store in the area.

The store is fine. The staff have always been helpful and friendly. However, REI branded products have taken a pretty serious dip in quality. I purchased a REI down jacket and after about 15 months of use the zipper broke. When I inquired about getting it fixed I was told this falls under normal wear and tear and was not covered by the warranty. Unbelievable.

Great co-op! Good deals and wide selection of gear. Helpful, happy, and friendly staff. Member dividends. Permanently closed on Black Friday as a paid benefit to employees and encourages me to enjoy nature more than buying stuff

You can spend a silly amount of time trying to figure out if you’re looking at racks of women’s clothes, or racks of men’s clothes, since putting up signs doesn’t seem to be this store’s habit.Ditto for whole sections of the store.I didn’t have the stamina to figure it all out. Probably an indicator that I need to get outside to exercise more. But I’ll have to do it in some other retailers’s apparel.

This store is amazing! Has everything I need and more. Store is well organized and clean. Employees are super helpful and let you shop peacefully. An employee does not ask you every five steps if you need help here. Which is great. You just can’t go wrong with shopping at REI in my opinion.

My husband and I have been members for nearly a year now. We have nothing but positive experiences with REI. I purchased an e-bike from their online shopping. Although their website did not provide us with the most accurate tracking information or updates, however the manager and staff at the store were able to clear up any issues or confusions we had regarding the timeframe for pick up. Last week I got a flat tire on my new e-bike. We got it fixed at their in-store repair shop for free because we are members. We were very surprised at how thorough the techs were as well as their attention to detail. Our only complaint is that their prices are a bit high, but you get a one year return policy if you are a member. Definitely worth checking out if you are interested interested in purchasing a bicycle.

Incredible company and incredible service. The REI membership is an absolute no-brainer - do it! It's a one time fee and you get 10% back on purchases each year and free exchanges and returns up to ONE YEAR after purchase. I have gone here multiple times to exchange sizes of clothing and it's always done remarkably quickly with my new item sent directly to my door in a week or so. You also get membership discounts at the ski shop and everyone there is super knowledgeable.

I want to give a special shoutout to Kiyomi, who went above and beyond in helping us get a rack and a top box for our Subaru.Long story short — Thule’s database that lists vehicle compatibility was incorrect, so when I tried to install a roof rack we picked up from the store, it was a frustrating fail. Kiyomi helped trouble-shoot it multiple times and eventually was able to get the Thule folks to update their records (and to confirm that the product we bought was actually never going to fit!). We had to return the whole purchase and wait for REI to stock compatible racks. When they came in six months later, Kiyomi helped us out again and even installed the the rack and box — a total lifesaver because we have a young toddler, so focusing this kind of job in our household right now is wildly difficult.Anyway, big thanks to Kiyomi — whose technical product knowledge is as impressive as her get-it-done energy — and to REI for finally setting up shop in the Green Mountain state! We were already REI fans but y'all just keep getting better.

Yesterday, my daughter had a mountain biking program to go to and right before we were headed out to leave, her tire popped. We ran over to REI and they were SO helpful, so kind and so quick! We told them she was supposed to be out on the trails at that time and they got to work quickly and were great to talk to/work with. Thank you to Rowan and the rest of the team in the bike shop.Also, a bonus - I had signed up to be a member which made the labor for replacing the bike tube free! We only had to pay for the part. Great deal to sign up as a member. We will definitely continue to go to REI for our bike services and other product needs.

I knew pretty much exactly what I wanted so I went in and got my sandals. The staff was very helpful and courteous as they should be so well done there. The only thing that could improve is having more shoe sizes for the sandals and Footwear that I was looking at other than that the experience was good.

Had a minor-major bike issue within minutes of my arrival to town. I called, wheeled my bike in and in a literal minute I was out of the shop. This is why I'm an REI member. Nothing but great experiences!

REI co-op is a great store, people who work there are fun and interested in outdoor activities. The selection of products it nice and the customer service was superb. I like that when I go in with my wife, for something for her the salespeople talk to her more than me.

REI is now my "go to" place to get shoes and boots. I have a hard time finding shoes that fit me comfortably. In general I have to buy men's shoes to find something wide enough. Today was a SCORE with some very comfortable Merrill walking/hiking shoes! The staff member who assisted me was extremely helpful and showed me some alternative lacing methods as well that could be helpful for my foot issues. TOTALLY IMPRESSIVE! Store is well stocked and attractively laid out. Staff is available and helpful.

Fabulous experience. I got genuine help from Eduardo, Chris, and Angus in the footwear section. They are very knowledgeable about the products, made tailored recommendations for me, and hung out/helped me through all the pairs I tested out. Walked away with a great pair of sneakers that will ease a lot of aches and pain, and really I can't be more thankful.

I was hoping to come in the store and get sized and purchase new winter boots to wear both for casual walks in the snow and some light snowshoeing. Upon arriving I was told that the shoe department had been pretty busy, but I went over there anyway. There was one customer there currently getting fitted. It didn't seem like the store had a very large selection of winter boots and they didn't seem too excited to help me. I asked about the first pair that interested me and was told they didn't have them in stock. That's fine, it's a common size and it's January. I asked about boots similar to what I had on and the only advice they offered was to "somehow repair my old boots." They didn't know anything about them or why they needed to be replaced so I really felt pushed off. They are 10 year old keens, and nothing really all that special. They didn't offer any alternatives or seem like they wanted me there at all. Maybe the workers were just burned out from previous customers. Anyhow, the employee sorta made me feel like I didn't belong there and that they weren't going to waste their time talking to me. I guess I'll try to find boots somewhere else that actually feels like helping a customer. I'm a little sad because I thought REI was my sort of store. I like the outdoors, but I guess there is a reason internet sales are taking over the brick and mortar places.

Worst REI I have ever been to. I get it's the holiday but what a dump. Not a ton of shoppers but all the shelves were a shambles. Open shoe boxes all over while staff stood next to them and did nothing. Twelve people in line and one checkout person. Won't be back.

Went on the 2nd day of being open and was impressed at how well the store looked with tons of customers coming through. The layout is fairly similar and slightly smaller to the other REI stores I’ve been to, but still had a wide selection of gear. The staff was friendly and helpful even with the store being a zoo. Probably out of the owners control, but sidewalks were icy and impassable in places a week after storm, so had to walk through the busy parking lot.

I have visited REI only a few times. I have went to purchase two different things a year apart and was told by employees that the product was more than sign was advertised at. They apologized both times, did not try to come up with excuse as they apparently couldn’t understand the setup themselves. I will not be going back and left other items that I was purchase if behind. I just don’t agree with the false advertising not being honored. It didn’t seem accidental, as it was obvious how the set up was.

Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. If you’re looking for biking, climbing or ski gear, you’ll find this easily. Clothing is scattered around and hard to navigate. I’d recommend downtowns Outdoor Gear Exchange over this any day of the week
