Don't be thrown off by the idea that this is a "motel" -- this is a lovely Vermont Inn. The rooms are beautifully appointed, squeaky clean and very comfortable. The breakfast is particularly impressive -- rather than a fixed plate, they have a lot of choices. The Innkeepers are wonderful -- very service oriented. They are long time Vermont residents and know everyone and everything about it the area. In general, they make you feel as though you have some wonderful friends who live in a Vermont farmhouse, where you will be the welcome guest. The only drawback is the location so you can't really walk anywhere.Noteworthy details: Nothing more to add

I 'really' wanted to like this motel, especially since I was able to book a single night (Saturday) when there was normally a 2 night minimum (Sept 23), at a rate of $95 including breakfast, but there was just too many things wrong with room #4 that made me feel a bit creeped out. Now, I've stayed in my fair share of older motels in Vermont, and I'm somewhat accustomed to mid-century modern decor (heck, I'm mid-century modern myself), but there's definitely a maintenance issue with these pre 1960s rooms. Just look at the photos... Ceiling tiles loose and falling, walls with visible cracks, furniture that had a stale unused odor, exposed bath pipes, tiny shower stall with water that alternately froze and scalded, drapes that were a foot too long, a night stand that was actually a metal mesh outdoor table covered with cloth, and a oscillating fan held together with bread ties.On the positive side, breakfast and the couple that served it was both very good. Not recommended and won't be back. Just sorry, because I can see the potential here...

We stayed at this inn during our Inn to Inn hiking trip. The inn is very welcoming and homey. Almost like visiting grandma. So easy to relax in the comfy couches and visit with other fellow hikers. Food was great. We were offered several choices for both breakfast and dinner. We liked that all the hikers sat together at one table. Many of the inn staff have been working there for many years and were happy and helpful at all times. Each of the 4 inns of our hiking trip are totally different which enhanced the experience.

Exactly the sweet little Inn experience I wanted! Jeff and Kim were wonderful hosts. We were given a delicious breakfast in a quaint dining room with a great view of their garden. Highly recommend adding a bit of their maple syrup in your coffee (a neat little trick one of the other guests showed us). The lounge is beautiful and often is occupied by their wonderful pets. The Inn is very close to many great places to check out - like Lasser Ceramics, the Weston Village Market, and the Weston Gallery (with Mark Martins - great artist and lovely guy). Also not far from Stratton mountain, which has a great gondola ride to the peak.

If you're looking for a cottagecore vacation, this is your place! The aesthetic is so cozy and adorable, with great shopping just minutes away in any direction. Kim & Jeff are such welcoming hosts that you'll feel like you're staying with family. Their pets are super friendly and will lovingly keep you company in the guest lounge. Excellent, excellent Bed & Breakfast!!

Kim and Jeff were great hosts on our last light on the Inn to Inn walking tour. They were very friendly and extremely accommodating. Kim even coordinated an appointment for me at a nearby quilt shop when she learned from another Inn keeper that I was a quilter. Further, she welcomed me into her quilting room and gave me some tips and a quilters gift packet. Jeff surprised us completely with fresh trout for dinner that was fabulous. The endless supply of homemade cookies; especially the spicy molasses; was also a plus!

Adore it here. Kim and Jeff are too good for this world. They are phenomenal hosts. The atmosphere is entirely too perfect for a serene getaway. The rooms have what one needs to feel at home and also away from home. Breakfast is yummy and different. And I love being able to see the mountains during daylight and the stars at night.

This place was absolutely phenomenal. I felt like we were in the owner's home and that they personally were taking care of us. It didn't only 'feel' like it, it was actually the case! We were caught in snow and ice and called to make a last minute booking. Jeff the 'chef' welcomed us personally introducing us to his home, where the guests can hang out on comfortable sofas by the fire; coffee and homemade cookies all afternoon/evening - all included in the price of course. Then, Jeff showed us to our cute little room. The room was cozy and right out of a little alpine chalet/motel. In the morning we had a deliciois home cooked breakfast (included in rate) featuring orange juice coffe baked apple omelet and a slice of cake. Many more options to choose. We even had a nice chat with those sitting next to us. This was a god send find - perfect little cozy place in the middle of pretty much nowhere. Quiet, peaceful and PET-FRIENDLY!! Extremely highly recommended!

I like the simplicity of being invited into someone's home. That is The Colonial Inn. The difference is in the phenomenal people you meet, and the WONDERFUL (free)breakfasts!! If I can't stay at the base of the mountain (skier) for a reasonable price (which is almost always the case) the Colonial Inn is my go to place. The owners are SUPER wonderful VermontersI keep going back... (See you Friday, Kim and Jeff). Oh, the Popcorn and the cookies... Check them out too.

We come here around Thanksgiving. We love the quintessential New England / Vermont atmosphere, food, animals, and gracious hosts. About 15 minutes from Okemo and Stratton Mountains. We usually choose to stay in a smaller room upstairs because we like the coziness and the price is right for us. There are larger units in adjacent building. I like spending time in common room with their dog and cats, reading or playing games by the fireplace. They also sell homemade baked goods and hot cereals. BEST BREAKFAST EVER ! So good and filling that I could skip sad lunch options in ski lodge.

What a great Place! Jeff is probably the nicest guy you have ever met, couldn't care any more about his guests. I probably have never had a better breakfast in my whole life. We have been up several times and always great. Not the fanciest place in town, but great food, super great hosts, perfect location in between stratton and okemo, and couldnt ask for a better host!

Tks somewhat tired B&B that looks a bit worn but hosted by two great innkeepers, wonderful kitchen/dining room staff. Suggestions: offer cheese, grapes, crackers for a healthier afternoon snack (cookies are currently offered daily). Declutter common area and delineate items for guest purchase to increase inn revenue. Repair wooden doors in the annex area where wood has chipped away. Repaint same. Keep door to downstairs storage area (across from the ice machine) closed. This is an "off-stage" area and appearance down hall would be better for guests to not see storage area when using common hallway.Excellent breakfast and dinner. Enjoyed our stay.

The room was great and the meals are great but the rest of the place looks very disorganized. The innkeepers are wonderful and obviously very concerned that you have a good stay.
