Lovely deli store in the middle of this tiny town. The workers are so nice and they have so many things here for sale, merch, syrup, wines, beers, as well as sandwiches that are creative and delicious. Zero complaints

The WCS is a great place to start your day. Get a piping hot cup of coffee and a fresh-baked muffin or donut, and sit in the outdoor patio area. They also have a variety of made-to-order breakfast sandwiches and entrees. Lunch is also available. The staff is exceptionally friendly. In the summer, I believe they also serve ice cream on the patio.

This is a darlin little place who supports their locals as well as the Lake people. Their food is outstanding! Friendly staff! Breakfast n lunch you can have here and then be sure to get dessert. You won't be disappointed I promise!

Fantastic little country store. It's more of a specialty deli, really, as you can't get groceries there, but you can get fresh homemade pastries, donuts, muffins, cakes and pies and the best belly sandwiches around. They have a very nice menu of special creations. My personal favorite is the Waldorf chicken salad which you can get on a rap or a salad or a sub bun. The quality of their food is very high and they are efficient and very friendly. They carry a large selection of wine and they do have candy and chips for your sweet tooth or snacking pleasure. Very good coffee. Very good ice cream. It is worth the trip from wherever you are to check this place out. It is a quaint, authentic old time country store on the corner in Wells and even if you are there for the first time they will make you feel like they know you and you are at home.

This is such a great place! The breakfast sandwiches were delicious! Bacon, egg, and cheese on one of the best rolls I’ve ever had. Also had the donuts and raspberry cheese pastry which were also very good! I will for sure be back next time I’m in Vermont!! Thank you!

delicious!**if you aren't familiar with this place, note that the deli closes at 4, even though the store is open until 430. in addition, coffee is not served all day. **great outdoor seating!serves boars head deli items. store sells mugs, local vt maple syrup, goatmilk soaps, t-shirts of lake st. Catherine, reminds-you-of-grandma's-house gingersnaps. bakery had small selection (chocolate chip cookies; oatmeal raisin cookies, oatmeal bar with chocolate and caramel, muffins; luscious, soft, browned butter-tasting caramels)

If you are after a simple but perfect breakfast sandwich, look no further. Good coffee, perfect cider donuts, muffins (and normally I pass on muffins in general) that are better than any cake I've had, stuffed with berries and covered in crunchy big sugar flakes. Fantastic beer and wine selection, awesome lunch sandwiches, friendly staff. I used to live in a town that had dozens and dozens of well regarded places to eat. None made food as good as the wells store. Here's the breakfast plan: go in, snag a coffee, 1 donut, one berry muffin and a sandwich with sausage egg and cheese and your day is made.

Best sandwiches around Lake Saint Catherine. Donuts are great and if you can, get a sausage muffin. Delish!!Chicken salad with cranberries mayo is amazing! So is the meatloaf sandwich. And I'm addicted to the peanut butter cookies.

VERY yummy food and GREAT iced coffee.The donuts and breakfast sandwiches were both amazing! (So good that we went back for lunch!)The staff was friendly enough both times although the cook was a bit rude to us.They only had 2 people taking orders for 4th of July weekend so the line went pretty slowly.They also completely messed up my MTO lunch sandwich but they were busy and the turkey (that I didn't order) was still yummy. 👍Would DEFINITELY go back for breakfast 🙂

I can't say enough about the friendly service and excellent home made food offerings at the Wells Country Store. I wish I lived closer. Their special sandwiches are a delight. When I lived closer I liked to get there early for home made muffins right out of the oven. Theirs are the best. They have an excellent wine and beer selection, locally sourced products and a place to eat outside during the good weather. And as if that wasn't enough there's the ice cream stand attached to the main building. Both soft serve and Island Ice Cream from Grand Isle, VT are available. So what are you waiting for?

The turnovers here are the best I have ever had. And I am a pastry chef! Perfectly balanced pastry, taste and flakiness, not too sweet or savory. The fruit filling was also perfect. Sweet, tart, and had just the right amount of bite. We tried the cherry and peach. But they had several flavors, as well as other offerings. Donuts, muffins, pies, cookies and bars, as well as many savory deli sandwiches. Everything looked very tasty. We were cycling through Wells, and could not try everything. But so glad we did have a turnover. I wish I had this pastry recipe in my quiver!

Good little stop. They have a little bit of everything. I tried the different types of bottled sodas they had there. They also have ice cream, baked goods, salads and beer. They close early 6pm, but good to know that they are close enough to the lake so you don't have to drive to Granville for something if you need it.

I love love love this store! It has been my home away from home for fourteen years. Every year I have Juli make all of my holiday cakes and a pumpkin pie just for me. This store is the very best of Wells and of Vermont.

This is a wonderful place to come for breakfast or lunch. I've had breakfast sandwiches, deli sandwiches, pastries and pizza here and it's been great every time. Love having this great spot 5 min down the road from us!
