Nice place but too small for a family with kids. Expect a simple motel style stay. Very bare bones. If you’re looking for amenities, you won’t find any here. Pros: newly renovated, very close to Sugarbush mountain, very clean, cozy lodge with board games and fireplace, inexpensive compared to other lodgings in the area, helpful staff, equipment lockers, shuttle to the mountain. Cons: tiny rooms, nearly zero amenities on site (resort fee charged daily for a rec centre), no food or restaurant in the lodge (tiny bar that is open thurs-sat). Walls are paper thin, can hear everything from the hall or next door. Make sure to ask for a room upstairs facing the back. We woke up several times to banging from upstairs neighbours. Lower rooms have one small window and if they face the front then there is hardly any privacy. Heaters make tons of noise at night and are hard to adjust temperature. The room is too small for a family of 4. There’s no closet for storage. Make sure you’re very organized with your bags etc. if you want to move around in the room comfortably. There is a tiny fridge that may fit a few cans of soda. There is no table, it was difficult to bring simple groceries to eat in the room, which was necessary because during the week restaurants have odd hours and most aren’t open until Thursday. It was an okay stay overall, definitely doable, and nice rooms for no more than 2 people. I would come back, but not with kids.Nearby activities: Sugarbush resort

The hotel was renovated six months ago and now looks like a brand-new property. Our room was clean and had a nice interior, but it was quite small and lacked space to store ski clothes. Unfortunately, the hotel does not have an on-site restaurant, but they have a cozy lobby where you can enjoy your take-out dinner. Additionally, the hotel has a small yet charming bar that serves cocktails and wine. The bartender was very attentive and provided excellent service. The hotel is located close to the ski resort, approximately a 2-minute drive by car, or you can take the free shuttle bus. There are plenty of nearby restaurants where you can have dinner or order takeaway. In summary, this hotel provides great value for its cost, but it is important to remember that it is still a 2-star property, so do not expect too much.Rooms: Pretty smallNearby activities: Ski resort, plenty of restaurants

The rooms were pretty good, but I felt like they had not cleaned the room properly after the previous guest. My restroom did not have any hand wash or soap. They also were unable to provide feminine hygiene products when an emergency came up.We had some difficulty finding the place at night. There are plenty of activities nearby, which was good.

Room was clean (although incredibly small) and had all the amenities you could ask for. It looks like the room was just redone and was very nice-looking inside. The only negative about this place (besides the high price point) is that it is kind of creepy! The only way we could enter the hotel to get to our room is on the side of the building. At night there are no lights near the side hotel entrance so anybody could be sneaking around there! Not to mention that there is no code or lock system to get in where the rooms are, so any stranger could just walk up inside. Also there are no keycards here to get into your room. You get a 4 digit code instead, so get ready to write it down or take a pic.I would recommend you choose the Claybrook Hotel over this one when staying at Sugarbush resort. It felt a lot safer and more comfortable when we went in there for dinner!

Currently staying here and I can say that this is not a professionally managed or run hotel. The walls are thin and you can hear everything in the next room as well as the hallway- the toilet is slow to flush and the compost bin in the lobby smells to high heaven. The room keys are actual hard physical keys. People smoke pot in the rooms and you can smell it. I can not believe that PSIA is in partnership with this business for visiting ski instructors. The vending machine is also sold out and partially out of order. I also understand that this hotel is also the pick up point for all of the condo keys in Sugarbush-- what a terrible look for the resort. The Rec center also doesn't have great hours. With a few low cost investments and staff training this place could be a lot better. The price is low but so is the quality.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We were in the Fall, and wow the surrounding area was so beautiful! Location of the lodge get 5/5 just for the colors. It was a comfortable stay but could have been better.Rooms are old and definitely need upgrading. However rooms were clean and that counts. We got a room on the lower level, next to the laundry room and maybe a boiler room because there was some background noise in the room. The person at the reception desk was friendly. He suggested good places for breakfast and dinner. Also was very courteous.

If I could do lower than a one star review I would. The staff are so incredibly rude! The bartenders are the worst. They act like it’s an inconvenience that you’re there. There’s no help and the staff yells at you any chance they get. Rooms are tiny, out dated, and not clean. Window and door locks barely work. Honestly, I’m surprised I didn’t find used needles in the room. Worst place I’ve ever stayed at. The staff being 95% of the problem. Worst people on the planet

We stayed in #311, the "Chipmunk Suite" very comfortable, bed was good, our own door to the exterior. I found the lodge to be tidily maintained inside and out, no signs of mildew in the bathroom, very clean. Furnishings not new but in excellent condition. I thought the location was nice, the road was quiet (in August) and it is conveniently located next to Paradise Market, with very good sandwiches and baked goods and groceries. They were quick to respond to a maintenance request.

Stayed one night here recently. Not the most updated and luxurious place but extremely clean and comfortable. Very reasonably priced and very close to Sugarbush Ski Resort. Definitely would stay again.

It has to be Vermont thing but it’s a cool experience. The receptionist was super nice and helpful. I got all maps and flyers about things to do around without needing driving the car around that I would needed at least a week to spend there.

Had a great stay, everyone was nice, the room was clean and the bed was super comfy. They also broke typical policy and allowed me to book only one night, which was perfect for the wedding I attended down the road at the Inn at the Round Barn. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because it was, in my opinion, overpriced. The breakfast was less than continental and they don't have simple amenities like an ice machine (they have trays of ice in the shared fridge/freezer next to their vending machine). I'd stay there again, especially since they didn't rush us out the door after a very long night of celebrating our friends.

Sugar Lodge at Sugarbush is the ideal base for skiing on Lincoln Peak and Mt Ellen. Bob and his wife are extremely welcoming and are a fountain of information on local eateries, bars and skiing. The accommodation is basic but comfortable and, most importantly, spotless. They have a beautiful open fire at the front desk where you can sit and have a beer or wine from their evening bar service and enjoy one of the many board games they have on offer. If skiing is your priority and you want an affordable comfortable base within a stones throw of the slopes this is the place for you. I was here with my girlfriend and we both rate it be the highly. Thanks to Bob and team.

Absolutely terrible. Beds are like sleeping on concrete, not a proper shower head and the heat chooses when it wants to work. If you are on the bottom floor you will hear every single noise- do not plan to sleep past 7 AM. “Continental Breakfast” is a few bagels and cereal. You are not encouraged to enjoy time with family and friends in the Great Room as everyone will hear you and complain.

My family was a little leary when they realized there was no pool in the winter. However, they came around once we arrived. The rooms were VERY clean, staff and owners very pleasant and friendly, and it's close proximity to Sugar Bush made it the perfect place to stay. We will definitely make a habit of booking a room here again on our next trips to Sugar Bush.

If you just want a bed and want a quick ride to the mountain and care about nothing else this is your place. Otherwise stay awayWalls so thin you might as well sleep with your neighbor. If your neighbor gets some food the smell could keep you awake all night. ( good news .... the windows open)The breakfast is continental and if you get up before 730 you can’t even grab a cup of coffeeLastly the shower is one steady drip so good luck getting wetOverall not worth the lower price or short distance to us ....my husband thinks my review is way too kind

Very convenient to the slopes. The rooms are modest with no luxurious frills, but there's hot showers, comfortable beds, and WiFi with breakfast and hot coffee provided in the morning.

Your typical East German ski chalet with breakfast food worse than that of the previous evening's Econolodge. Like clockwork a stoic blonde member of the secret police accused us of smoking on consecutive days at exactly 10:45 AM. We invited the inspector into our room. She had zero evidence and we just left and found better accommodations. They never followed up, apologized or anything of the sort. They claimed we were smoking because we were the "only ones there." Maybe we were actually the only people stupid enough to stay there. Sleeping in your car and waking up to a box of Cheerios beats this experience.F A I L

My boyfriend and I traveled 300 miles, we were 14 miles away and got into a car accident, forcing us to return home instead of keep our reservation. The woman I spoke with repeatedly, who was apparently the owner/manager, refused to work with me, telling me that there was no way to refund us or even give a voucher for a later return! Unbelievable!

No privacy, I could hear people talking in the room on top of us, the guests started to make noise 3:30 am, I wake up and couldn't sleep again. Horrible experience.
