I don't regularly imbibe, maybe a Bloody Mary now and then...that said, I'm not a frequent visitor to Vergennes Wine & Beverage (soon to be renamed, I'm told, "Hare of the Dog")....but around the Christmas holiday, it's one of my favorite places to visit. The cellar atmosphere with exposed brick walls and friendly banter with the proprietor and staff make stocking up on Amaretto, Sambuco, and Harvey's Bristol Cream a cherished part of our Christmas tradition.

Great selection of beers, spirits, mixers and wine and even better locally owned customer pampering. Yes, it's not just service, they pamper you a bit to the point of having them custom order your favorite beers (if available) to have in stock when you visit

My brother is an alcoholic. And he loves the beer at this place. Never can get enough of it. Considering I don't drink alcohol I don't know about the beer.

Really nicely done. A carefully curated selection of beer. Wonderful bourbon. Everywhere you look something special and unexpected. Someone has an advanced degree in beverageology. Owner was very informative and willing to answer questions.

They found a red we took a picture of of and ordered it just from inquiring. Love the staff, they are very kind. We take our Puggle ping pong in shopping with us, and always gets the best ear scratches

The person that owns/runs this business should sell out to someone who actually cares about the patrons that enter the establishment. I haven't been in there often but EVERY time it's the same. No acknowledgement of you whatsoever. At the register, ZERO conversation and when you leave and say Thank you, which I always do...... nothing. I will bring my business elsewhere from now on.

The staff member that checked me out was extremely rude and disrespectful. When checking out, I handed over my credit card to pay and the checker ran my card as a debit card despite my assurances that it was in fact a credit card. After several failed attempts, he finally ran my card as credit and told me that I was costing his store money by paying with a credit card. To make matters worse, he arrogantly told me to keep this in mind when I next decide to use my "debit card" as a credit card. I will never patron this store again and I suggest that you don't waste your time or money here. I understand the challenges of running a small business but this man's attitude was disgustingly inappropriate.

Not a great selection prices are high and the guy that runs it is VERY unfriendly..I will drive to burlington or bristol before buying liquor here again. its the only place within miles so i guess he can afford to treat people that way

They really need to fix their business hours on here. It says they open at 9:00, but twice now I've been there at 9:30 on a weekday and they are closed.They open at 10:00am
