It is actually a nice dollar general with many options. The prices are good. Every time I have gone I find the customer service lacking though. I always find no cashier at the front desk, which signals to me that either they are understaffed or poorly-trained. That said, for what it is I think it is really good. I love being able to stop on the way home from work and get bug spray or a must-have without paying an arm and a leg.

I went into this store this week and the dude over charged me. No biggie accidents happen and when I mentioned it he hollered to the top of his lungs for a manager. Instead of wanting to stay there longer I told him I was just grab an extra item of what was charged. When I was leaving I showed it to him cause it felt weird just walking out. He told me good and he hoped I would leave now! I was nothing but kind to this dude.Like what??? I should have known better to go in there. Lesson learned! Cheap envelopes are not worth it!

No matter what day you go there are boxes stacked in the aisles to be unpacked....I thought initially I was always going on the day they must unload their truck but no, it is every day no matter what time of day- they are in a constant state of unpacking! Staff is nice but store is a wreck!

Dollar General in Vergennes, VT is disgusting! I was just in our store hoping that maybe the past three visits in three weeks was just bad days but today was the all time low. The shelves are empty of paper products, cleaning products, food, etc. The aisles are covered in items on the floor. This has been this way since a crew from other stores cleaned it up before Covid hit. There is never a cashier around and no one stocking shelves. Once the cashier came from somewhere, he had the nerve to ask me if I wanted my change!! Oh and the card machines weren’t working so people were walking out. I am amazed at the cleanliness and work ethic of other DG stores that I have visited here in Vt and other states. The Vergennes store is a disgrace to the Dollar General name.

The prices are good and the staff is usually friendly enough. The store is often disorganized and poorly stocked. They are frequently understaffed, so I'm not sure how well things get cleaned.

Place was super clean. The woman running the cash register went to get cranberry juice for an older man cashing out because he could not find it himself. That's going above and beyond and its nice to see people still doing it

Jeremiah needs to learn how to bag. Either he fills the bag so full that it busts as soon as I pick it up or he puts the bread in the bag to be flattened by the other items purchased. According to him he is a "master bagger". His words not mine. Better watch the how to bag video if you haven't. If you have, then watch again.

Not sure why it's called Dollar General. Carries plenty of varied merchandise from oreos, coloring books, and laundry detergent, to decorative pillows and lamps, but it's still much more expensive than Walmart. The only thing it really has going for it is the location.

Bought a couple robes as Christmas presents. Sign in front of them said, all green dot sleepwear 60% off. Didn't ring up on sale and when I asked, the manager said they were winter green dots and that it didn't count. Grrrr!

My family didn't want to drive all the way to S. Burlington for some basic paint supplies. Turns out Dollar General totally had some canvas and acrylic paint... win!

Store was filthy, nothing was stocked (all scattered around the store and in boxes), and staff seemed more interested in chatting with customers/people they knew. (This is only 1 store, not all are the same!)

The cashier older lady was quiet friendly and informative , I forgot to check my eggs and she did it for me and found their were broken ones and she replaced them . very very nice
