Went to the butchery for sandwiches yesterday - they were so good we went back today. Everyone is so happy to help and advise what to get.We tried 4 sandwiches in two days:The ItalianThe cheesesteakThe turkey clubThe Stowe chicken wrap (but on a hoagie)We also tried the cod and clam chowder - one of the best and most hearty chowders I’ve ever had. Absolute 5 stars.

Really nice fish/meat market in Stowe. Excellent quality, delicious prepared food options, and friendly owner. I wish there were more places like this in Vermont.P.S- The meaty arancini was so good.

What a spectacular find! I am a chef who moved up to VT a few years ago when I attempted to retire. I will admit I am a total food snob and I am rarely very happy. That all changed today when I walked into the store. The staff, including the owner who I chatted with were all delightful! The selection made me feel like I was back home in NY. Did I mention how superbly clean the place was!?! I look forward to going back and it was 100% worth driving from Marshfield.

Everything I've ever gotten here has been high quality, fresh and delicious. Whether it be Marinated Steak, Filet, Scallops, Ahi, sandwiches or shrimp. Service is excellent!!!

Purchased pork chops earlier this year for a client, I opened at the home and they were sour/bad. Butchery offered a credit.I was appreciative of that. I used part of the credit on next visit,then the following visit the Butchey had "misplaced" slip so I never received final credit,which was a fair amount. Gave them another try today,purchased some cooked shrimp,expensive, opened bag at home,no small container of cocktail sauce in the bag,which they had always added two times I bought shrimp there before. Didn't ask if I needed/ wanted sauce. Disappointing. For the cost of their products they could do better.

Our go-to place for the best local meats around, either just stopping in or ordering something specialty ahead of time so we have exactly what we need for a bigger meal and the friendly staff preps it with care. You can't go wrong with their rotating in-house sausages either. Hubby loves their fresh seafood too. Their lunchtime sandwiches are delicious too (hello, VT turkey!)

Amazing find in Stowe! The selection of fresh fish and meat was amazing. They offer everything from Sushi grade tuna to lamb chops. Also their prepared food and sandwiches were delicious. They do the hard work for you and include the TLC - all you have to do is bring it home and heat it up. A must stop when you are in town!

The best meats and seafood selection in VT, hands down. Definitely world class quality meats and fish. Great deli, wine, and grocery items too, but don't love the new Asian food to-go items on Thurs-Sat as they're not quite on-point for what they're supposed to taste like.

We tried their house-smoked salmon as well as their fresh halibut and a ribeye. All were excellent. The ribeye in particular was delicious. It was thick cut and we cooked it to medium-rare. The meat was extremely flavorful and wonderfully tender. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back the next time I'm in town.

Jeff, Leah, and their team do a superb job both in Stowe and Waitsfield. The fish and seafood - from smoked fish to salmon and tuna to shrimp cocktail - is all wonderfully fresh, perfectly cut, and impeccably presented. And the meat - in every form they present - is hard to beat. We had the most tender, fresh, and flavorful tenderloin for a Christmas Feast that could not be beat. Thanks to the whole team for their professionalism and friendliness, advice, and wonderful products. Try their rubs, spices, sauces too to accompany your dishes.

We were in Stowe recently for vacation and stopped here for sandwiches. The meat in the cases looked so good we bought a cooler and stopped again on our way out. We bought two ribeyes and two NY strip steaks. They were some of the best steaks we have ever had! Nice and thick with lots of marveling. My only regret is that The Butchery is over 2 hours away from where we live!

Great service and even better selection. They asked what I was doing with the meat and helped me get it perfect: Coated two perfect Ribeyes in duck fat with a dusting of s&p and a rosemary finish... vacuum sealed and ready for the sousvide. Could have cut the end result with a spoon. Best Steak I've ever had.A must visit when I'm in the area.

Went in today for some Cod. Being pregnant was very much looking forward to enjoying it for dinner. After paying 20$ per pound was very disappointed. Smelled like it was a week old. My boyfriend and I have both been chefs for over 15 years and we know what proper fish should smell like. Dinner ruined as I cannot take chances eating bad fish. Had heard good thing but will not be going back for more.

The Butcher shop is excellent, but don't sleep on their lunch menu. The Raclette Burger and the Vermont Philly were some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Will absolutely be back.

I can only vouch for the few lunch sandwiches I tried, but they were easily some of the best sandwiched I've EVER had. Vermont pulled pork and Butchery cheesesteak. You probably can't go wrong with any of the options though, or anything in this shop for that matter.

My sister and brother-in-law are on their honeymoon in Stowe. With the help of Taylor at tourism Stowe and Leah at the Butchery I was able to get Leah to put together a picnic basket with all kinds of goodies from her shop. Just seeing the pictures from my sister I am over the moon happy with the end result. Thank you Leah and team for this amazing basket you put together.
