I love this place. I'm a home handyman and always have an open project or two. Stowe Hardware is my go-to, and I can't think of a time they didn't have what I needed. They've got everything except lumber.It's truly jaw-dropping-amazing how many products they pack into a small space and even more amazing is, whenever one asks for help finding an item, the staff can go straight to it in an instant!Highly recommended!

It’s very telling that all the negative comments are all about the owner being rude.The comments are further confirmed by the rude responses to the reviews by the owner.I am sure that there are many more negative instances. I have been using google for 20 years and have never written a review.My recent experience at Stowe Hardware inspired me to write my first ever google review!I will not be shopping at Stowe Hardware on account of the owner’s rudeness. I will take great pleasure in recommending other businesses to people. Please consider RK Miles in Stowe or consider going to Morrisville or Waterbury. There are many great hardware stores in the area so there is no need to support someone who is rude and disrespectful to their customers.

Just remarkably rude. Store is well stocked, and the woman running the register is perfectly pleasant but the gentleman who works there is incredibly rude. My family has been coming to Stowe for thirty years, and since we moved here three months ago I have been trying to support local businesses, but the consistent rudeness from the staff will make me shop elsewhere. Waterbury isn’t that far and it’s a much more pleasant experience.

For a small town hardware store, they stock an exceptional amount of items. Definitely my go for local pick ups. All the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

As a local, living and working in Stowe, this is where you need to go if you're not getting building supplies(lumber related). The folks there are incredible, they know their products and where they are, and they are very patient with customers. Fair prices, an amazing selection of all the miscellaneous stuff you need for just about anything, and great location and hours.

Went in search of a fishing license. Google said they should have them here but unfortunately they didn't. The woman behind the counter was very nice and sent us a bit further down the road to The Fly Rod Shop.

Despite the relatively small size of the store, they seem to have 90% of what I need at any given time, and it's in a great building. Anytime the Waterbury True Value doesn't have what I need, and I need it same day, I go here.

A truly wonderful neighborhood hardware store with helpful and knowledgeable owners. The store is relatively small but there is a lot packed inside so what you need may be tucked I to a corner. Just ask the staff and they will be happy to help you find what you need or solve a problem.

Some may say he's grumpy, some say he is rude but those people do not understand how good Chris, Martha, BJ and the team are. If you cant find it in the Stowe Hardware you probably dont need it or Chris and the team will find a work around. Products ranging from nails to duct tape, paint to cleaning, saws to garbage bags, dimmable LED G10s to skipping ropes. It's all here.

You find yourself in Stowe(or the surrounding area) and you need that thing; Ya know, that doohicky, that whatsitcalled, that square thing that goes in the round hole, that piece for the thing that goes on the other thing that feeds the where's it behind the what's it? Yeah, you go to Stowe Hardware because the staff will work with you to find that thing and you'll end up with what you need. Funny, down to earth folks that will get you in and on your way lickity split without the confusion of the big box stores.

A Ridiculous Phone Call ExperienceAfter this place come up in a google search for 18500 batteries (a battery commonly used in RC controllers) I called to ask if they actually had any in stoke.A man self identified as Chris answered the phone and tells me that what I am looking for doesn't make since to him, then quickly proceeds to act like I must be giving him the wrong information about what I want. He continued to talk with an air of all knowing and tells me what I am looking for doesn't exist.At this point I told him thanks for the help and I'll just find what I'm looking for elts where. Chirs laughs into the phone "YOU WON'T" and we end the call.Just because you don't know what your talking about Chris doesn't mean it's made up.

Remember those old hardware stores where they somehow tucked everything you needed in a small space and the people who worked there could tell you where it was and what you might need for your project? Well this is one of those places. (Like a hardware store should be.)
