the best welcome center where you can watch your own excrement get processed by plants.a beautiful selection of tropical flowers all growing from everyone's waste.

Honestly way cooler than I expected a rest stop to be! Had art from Vermont artists, a steel drum, cool greenhouse type area, there was a fundraiser bake sale going on when we went, and many many flyers and information about local businesses in Vermont. Also a Vietnam memorial to visit. It was a nice welcome to Vermont and a pleasant break during our long drive.

Super awesome rest area. Clean and just so refreshing to take a break from the road. The mini botanical garden is such a great idea. And the views are awesome.

This is an exceptional rest area, with its Vietnam Vets memorial, and the Living Machine.

Nice place. Limited number of restrooms. It has a nice greenhouse and a silent war memorial. It has a nice and green lawn with benches to eat. The ramp from the highway to this rest area is a little bit long.

Always a great stop, Clean, and the war memorial is quite thought provoking. They recycle the flushing water, and the area they do it in is quite green with flora and pretty awesome. There are plenty of tips at the counter for traveling folks to the state. Just as pleasant a rest area there could be.

We felt quite welcome here! Vermont really does an excellent job operating these centers. While this location is only open from 7 am to 7 pm, they do provide ports-potties outside for those evening hours when the building is not staffed.

Clean, many vending machines, coffee bar for a donation, beautiful Vermont Soldiers' Vietnam Memorial with names of those from Vermont who served.

I've been to quite a number of rest areas in my travels through many states, but this one really impressed me. The architectural design is fabulous with clean and pleasing lines and excellent use of space and geography. Inside you will find a squeaky clean facility with great light, displays, and clean restrooms. They have a very friendly and helpful staff ready to offer any information you may need. The other gem is their Vietnam memorial! It is an excellent, beautiful and moving place that will really put your heart in your throat... A "I'm not crying, you're crying" visit that, as a Vietnam era veteran, I sincerely appreciate!

It was a quiet peaceful place with clean facilities, perfect for a break from long drive. The outdoor space was very well maintained with greenery all around. There was a war memorial too and a greenhouse.

Probably the most interesting rest stop I've ever been to. They showcase aspects of Vermont beautifully. They also have a greenhouse displaying the various steps for water filtration that they use. As well as a very nice memorial for the veterans of the Vietnam War. The area overlooking I-89 is impeccably kept, and has 2 chairs that overlook the valley. They are prime real estate for pictures.

Green Mountain brand coffee available. It’s not free—make a donation.Lots of area to walk around. They have an industrial fan blowing from the urinals of the men’s room out towards the entrance. I stop there almost weekly and this fan is always there. That’s gross and unhealthy. They clean their own waste water in an attached solarium by running the water through different pools. As a result, the building can smell a little like poo. Also has a Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The first one in the country according to the plaque (1982!).Normal vending machines.Staff on duty if you have questions.

Probably the best visitor's center I've been to. There was even a cdonation based bake sale going on. Thank you to the woman that offered the free egg sandwich. It was a great snack for my hike.

So beautiful! I travel the country for our veterans and for myself, it's not often I am privileged to see such patriotism and appreciation for our military any more, particularly our Vietnam veterans. Thank you so much, God bless you all!

Another one of Vermonts wonderful Welcome Center/Rest Areas. The place is clean and inviting, smells like a log cabin inside. The grounds are very nice and I appreciate and enjoy the Adirondack chairs and the nice view they offered.

Clean bathrooms that seem to be monitored closely to make sure nothing runs out. Hot coffee available when ever they are open. A great place to honor Veterans and to explore the natural side of Vermont further. We love the bio dome that you can walk into and learn about composting and life cycles too. We saw some boy scouts today and they were great to my kids who wanted to ask questions about the environment while they did their fundraising. Something about this place just makes you understand how welcoming Vermont is.

A must stop along your journey up north! A cutting edge restroom facility from the future with a living composting toilet system. This laboratory conservatory like facility with its octagonal design is a destination within itself. Visible from the highway is a greenhouse like structure with plants that clean and filter grey water. Take a tour and learn from the numerous signs. Very impressed!

Such a beautiful place to stop! Clean facility and a nice way to recharge your brain from all the driving. Plenty of space to walk / stretch your legs, allow kids to burn off some energy, have a picnic instead of fast food and just marvel at Mother Earth overall. You can also do a little learning (and pay respects) at the Vietnam Veteran Memorial Wall inside. 🎖🇺🇲

Pleasantly surprised. We weren't planning on stopping, but it was a convenient time to take a break from the road. It was a lot nicer than expected, with a lot of outdoor space, clean facilities, and a greenhouse. Here's a picture of a pretty unique flower that I would love to learn what it is someday.Nice place to stop if you find yourself in the area!
