I ordered a door for delivery and they changed the address to an address in a different city! Ironically, the place they changed the address to is the town right next to their store in Rutland. They cancelled my order and made it my problem. Someone then called me on the phone and screamed at me for wasting their time. Totally unacceptable!UPDATE: Corporate contacted me. It's still my fault and they have absolved themselves and their delivery driver of any blame. From now on, I'm going to Lowes.

They had more than I was looking for, and the cashier was super friendly and helpful! Which was a very pleasant surprise compared to my hometown HD. 😀

Trying to get a flooring install prior to Thanksgiving for obvious reasons. Every step of the way I was clear about lead times. Every step of the way they have fallen behind (even my quote), notes on my order that didn't match reality and now I've been hung up on. At any point someone could have been honest and I would have made an informed decision before starting dry wall and all the other projects that now impact my ability to host my family for the holidays. I am literally one of the most respectful people. If you didn't want my business just tell me. As often as I can I will avoid spending my money here and I will advocate against working with you and your contractors. Also from what I understand from your associates the process of a refund is a literal nightmare as even they have to hold for service when trying to call it in and it can take them hours to days to realistically get through.

I unfortunately ordered an item from Home Depot and had it shipped 50 miles away to the Rutland store. Luckily, we enjoy going to Rutland so, no big deal. We browsed the store and located a vanity that we were looking for. The store was well stocked. Picking up the tool I ordered was less than pleasant. The customer service gal was a bit standoffish and not super pleasant to us or her coworker. Anyway,it was not a bad trip to Rutland.

None of the check outs allow tap for Apple Pay. The lady standing at the self check out was extremely rude to me about it. They didn’t have products that were listed in stock on their website.

I've had mixed experiences at the Rutland Home Depot. On the good side there is a very helpful associate in the electric department that runs around on a scooter. He is very knowledgeable. However, when picking up a fencing order placed on the web it was a nightmare. Took four hours and we had to settle for the wrong product because of various issues the store was having.Update.. went back today and everyone was friendly and helpful. Only problem was no baskets at the front entry.

10/2023Very disappointed! I had to reschedule my measurement appointment twice! The first appt, they didn't show, nor did they call. The second appt, the associate called 15 minutes before his arrival to cancel the appt. He had a flat tire! I called the Rutland Store to reschedule for a third time. The phone rang 42 TIMES & NO ONE picked up. I finally called corporate & asked if they closed since no one was answering. Corporate called the Rutland store & guess what? They answered because Corporate was calling!!!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! The third appt, he arrived. Estimate was emailed 2 days later. $500.00 more than their competitor..for the same carpet!!!!Home Depot requested a $25.00 refundable deposit at the time I scheduled the appt. It was paid. I called to request that my deposit be credited to my credit card used & was told it was nonrefundable! How about that? They cancelled 2 appts & then refused to refund my deposit? Apparently this is how their carpet department operates. It needs a revamping or one good flush!I DO NOT RECOMMEND HOME DEPOT FOR ANY CARPET INSTALLATION.NOW, THIS IS BAD BUSINESS!///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////I needed paint & am inexperienced as to what kind, etc. I arrived at Home Depot/Rutland and was greeted by RICH/ paint dept. He asked a few questions and within minutes, he was assisting me with my selection of paint. Ten minutes later I was cashing out & on my way. NOW THAT IS SERVICE.Once again, I highly recommend Home Depot & their associates. I bought what I needed and felt confident that I knew how to complete the project and was THANKED for my purchase! You can't ask for better service than that!06/01/2023Today, I was completely blown away by the delivery team, John & Tyson. They were professional, friendly, on time & actually knew what they were doing. Installation was a snap! Fred, the salesman was outstanding & I will seek him out for my next appliance purchase. This purchase & delivery experience was OUTSTANDING. Purchase and installation were FLAWLESS! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HOME DEPOT!I compared different businesses as I am purchasing new appliances. I searched the web and decided to call Home Depot in Rutland, VT. The first attempt to contact them resulted in an unanswered call of 21 rings! I tried again & still no answer after 20 rings. I then called corporate & asked if they were experiencing issues or did they close or better yet, did they file for bankruptcy! I was immediately transferred to the store and THEY ANSWERED THE PHONE!!! This is not good business. How can they assist customers with potential sales, if they ignore a ringing phone? Somebody .....anybody in management should bring this to the associates attention. I have made many purchases...high end purchases, at Home Depot and NEVER had such a negative experience. Not answering the phone and/or ignoring customers is not a wise and lucrative business move. They need to get their act together & work when they are being paid to work!

I placed an order this week for a tamper. The website showed 9 in-stock. I received a call from the store that the item was out of stock, but that they would sub another like item at the same price. I confirmed the specs were the same. An employee then cancelled the tamper instead of processing the sub so I had to pay for it again. They sent me confirmation of the new order with the subbed tamper and the specs were not the same. I called and they said they would fix it. Today, the driver calls to say he can't find us (they delivered here yesterday). Address he gives over the phone is incorrect. I check the order and my address is correct there. Disaster. The entire point of ordering online for delivery is the convenience. This is the most inconvenient order I've ever placed.

I recently purchased a home 15 minutes from this Home Depot in Chittenden and it needs a lot of work. I’m at this Home Depot very often. No matter what it is I need help with, Brian has been absolutely amazing and so so helpful. I purchased vinyl flooring and install through this Home Depot and Brian has gone above and beyond to make sure I have all the correct materials, the deliveries are scheduled and taken care of, and makes sure I understand everything going on. He’s extremely knowledgeable and I truly would be lost in this store without him. Thank you so much Brian for all of your help!!!

If you are going to have self checkout you need to respect and trust your customers. Felt extremely uncomfortable today with the woman who kept questioning if my husband and I scanned our items (which we had) and then proceeded to come over and double scan said items "to double check" as if we were being dishonest. The woman scanned 2 items to check that had been previously scanned and when the screen showed that they had in fact been scanned to purchase no apology was given for her misunderstanding. On the walk out I attempted to share that I was made to feel uncomfortable with the associate at the door and was told "I'm sorry that you're so upset". I spoke in a very calm kind tone to both associates and even expressed to the associate at the door that I understood this wasnt her fault or wrong doing. I am a retail manager of almost 20 years and while I understand the importance of shrink prevention it is not at the cost of your good paying customers comfort and respect. I spent $500 there today and my husband is a tradesman who spends a lot of money there and will not be returning here because of this experience.

I have back and knee problems. After I went to the bathroom at the back of the store I was in a lot of pain. Then I made the mistake of going to the boards section find shelving. I didn't find or have anyone ask if they could help me. The few people I saw were helping someone else half way down the store. I finally found a guy that told me to go to what row to go. No one else was to be found. I found the shelving. Not was I needed. I went out into the main row to find some after several minutes I saw an employee come out of the plants row. I whistled and he turned around. I waved and he waved back then he started to go . I then cupped my hands around my mouth and called I need help. He came and said I could have used the electric cart. He didn't know how to help me but said he would find help. I finally called out to another male employee who showed me where the shelving was. It's not shelving. The the other thing I needed wasn't what I wanted. I called the elderly handicapped man that sent me into the store to start with and he said he had looked up online and that they had both items. He then said I could forget it he would get what he needed on line. At 69 1/2 years old and being a female I have come to the conclusion that I will not be going in your store again. P.S. even if I used the cart the outcome would have been the same except I might not almost collapsed going to the car.

The gentleman at the customer service desk, last I was there, is extremely unhelpful and even on the rude side, while I was checking daily for a sought after item to come into stock.I’ve had great luck at the paint desk though, as everyone there has been super helpful, especially the blonde young lady who always gives advice when I come in searching for specific things for my projects.Like anything else though, supplies often run short and I am often times caught searching multiple stores for random items they’ve run out of.

Home Depot: the place where houses stop so passengers can get on and off as they travel around the county. Oh, wait, it’s just a big box store that sells some of, but not all of what you need to complete a home building project? Yeah, I think that’s right. You want some help while you’re there wondering around looking for answers? Sorry, but we all decided a long time ago that saving a couple bucks was a good trade off for service, so you’re on you own. The good thing is that with this hands off approach you can literally walk around the store building your creations using their materials and tools and revel in joy as the person at the check out counter tips their head in confusion at what you dumped on the counter. Oh wait, that doesn’t exist anymore. You’ll have to scan all the parts you assembled yourself. Okay have fun, and make sure you put hardware back in the wrong bins after you open them up to try them out.

Stopped in for materials to build a set of deck stairs. Finally found someone to ask for help with ripping some wood. They called over the speaker and left. Waited for 15 min before leaving. Pretty sure that every cart around the store with a few items in it represents another customer they lost.

Self checkout at this location should be shut down as when you try to checkout you are harassed by their employees as they think you are trying to steal items from them. If you want to eliminate theft in your store, then hire some cashiers and eliminate the self checkout. Additionally, this store is always a mess - pallets of merchandise blocking isles, no large carts available as they all have merchandise sitting on them. Not sure who the Manager is of this location, but this store needs help!

Our microwave died and we needed a new one right away. I looked on their web site and picked one, then called to see if they had it in stock. I asked if they had that make and model in stock and they said they would transfer me to appliances. I then reouested my request to the next person who answered, and they told me I would have to speak to someone in applisnces - so I was transferred to the wrong department! When I was finally transferred to appliances, I was told that the model I was interested in was not in stock, nor did they have any equivalent make or model. I ended up getting it elsewhere and got much better service. You need to keep more microwaves and other appliances in stock and you need to stop giving customers the runaround!

Far from a great experience. All I needed was a roller shade and get it cut to size. Waited and waited, walked to either end of the aisle. I had to call customer service on my cell phone to try and get help. Ten minutes later someone finally came. I would have been better off cutting the shade myself.

How ridiculous it is that Home Depot online can price match certain retailers than the store can't. You can order online and pick it up same day at store with price match but the manager at the store won't price match. And then we ask ourselves why this stores dissapear with online competitors.

Bought a zero turn. They couldn't find the key, they had nobody with any knowledge to walk us through getting started. Nobody helped us load it onto the trailer.Wouldn't accept my 24 month interest free offer that I had. Will think long and hard before buying from them

My hubby set up a curbside order but it wasn't ready so I decided to pull the order myself. Doug and Shane came to my rescue, helping me to find and load up everything. They were awesome! Friendly, helpful, efficient. Thanks to them! The ladies at the customer service desk were also great--honest and apologetic. I get it! Businesses all over are short staffed. Then a very nice young man helped me load the car. He too was friendly, cheerful and helpful. They may be short staffed but the staff they have is TOP NOTCH!!!

Ordered a fridge through online, and this store coordinated delivery. Talk about a terrible experience. At first, the truck they brought couldn't make it up the driveway, okay, no big deal. They reschedule with the store for 2 weeks later on a Saturday. Saturday comes, nothing, no fridge, no call, nothing. After calling in, apparently the fridge was delivered to the store, and their delivery teams don't work weekends, so Monday at 8, they'll call to schedule delivery. Monday comes, no call. At 11 am, I called, after a few minutes of being shuffled between people, the person on the line says they're going to speak to a manager, and will call me back with the planned delivery time. An hour passes, nothing. 1230pm, I call again, get connected to a manager, who says the person who is coordinating this is out to lunch, so he'll find out and call me back. Okay. 1pm, finally a call from the person who was supposed to call at 8 am, who says they'll be here in an hour. The delivery team finally arrives. Fridge is dented. I accept delivery on condition they replace the drawer. Then they help me move it in, and don't help me get it connected, which I payed for "expert installation"! Not a whole lot of expertise happening. Then they go to leave, without taking the old fridge, which I had also paid for, and they had no idea. They had to call in before they would take it. This whole experience has been shockingly unprofessional, and frankly disappointing, as we got a fridge with dents after we payed thousands of dollars for a new appliance. I will note that the delivery team was courteous, if a little out of their depth.

The guy who helped me here yesterday was awesome!!! Great attitude, very helpful, knew where to find a screen door for my awful, no-name deck door, then lugged it to my car, and managed to fit it on perfectly. HE earns a 5 star rating from me!

Our thanks & compliments to Colin at Rutland Home Depot for his willingness to go the extra yard to answer all our questions & help us with a problem regarding a recently purchased electric trimmer. He helped with all our shopping needs, & offered to physically help load sod into our car. It's hard to find such good customer service these days, so Colin's dedication is much appreciated.

We have been loyal Home Depot customers since we bought our first home 3.5 years ago. That house was a fixer upper that needed everything from flooring to plumbing to electrical and all major appliances replaced. We recently relocated and have again turned to Home Depot for all of our project needs in our new home. Well I don't know what is going on at this Home Depot location, but we've had pretty rough luck on our last two big purchases in the past month. We bought a $600 Dewalt table saw from them only to get it home and realize it had either been refurbished, or used and carefully restocked, including with a used, dull blade, without any labeling or markdown on the price/box. I immediately called them and a manager offered us a $50 store credit or the option to return. Well it's nearly a two-hour roundtrip drive there and back and we needed the saw that night to finish a project we were in the middle of when our old saw died on us, so we opted for the credit. The next time we were in town we stopped in for supplies and found a $520 clearance electric snow blower we decided to buy. It was a floor model, and we were told they weren't going to carry that brand any more, but that the blower came with all of the original items. We applied the credit to that purchase (and bought another $700 worth of tools and supplies) only to get home and find that the batteries and charger were missing from the blower. Again, it's nearly a two-hour roundtrip drive for us to this store, so turning around to address these issues once we get home is not only time consuming but expensive. We called customer service immediately and the associates did their best to find us replacement batteries. My husband drove back the next morning to pick these up, but because the brand is being phased out they only managed to find floor-model batteries from 2017 models--three years older than the model we purchased---that had clear sun bleaching and did not hold an equivalent charge to the newer model. My husband brought them home hoping we could make them work, but we ended up taking the blower and batteries back just days later (unused--it's September) because we were not confident in the combination they'd given us, and I was worried that if the batteries failed then our warranty would not be honored because they did not match the blower year/model we purchased. Maybe the customer service associates were just sick of seeing our faces at this point, but the level of attitude we encountered trying to make this return seemed both abrupt and completely unwarranted. One associate in particular seemed to be suggesting that we were trying to scam over Home Depot with this return. This is after spending nearly $3,000 there in the last six weeks! She implied the original $50 credit we received (from a manager!) was some sort of "backroom deal"!? She said we needed to use the credit now on another purchase or lose it and said that if we returned whatever we purchased with it, we would lose the credit altogether. This is after selling us a USED saw and a blower that straight up could not even turn on because it didn't have batteries!! It took a manager and another associate to clear this up and smooth out this return, but it left both me and my husband rattled the way the one associate talked to us and furious that there was any implication that we might be trying to get one over on HD with ANY return! We've spent more than $5k there EVERY YEAR for the past three years! The credit was originally a gesture of good faith from a manager trying to keep LOYAL customers happy. And we greatly appreciated that gesture. But we ended up spending well over that just going back and forth trying to rectify the hodgepodge items we bought there! The Rutland Home Depot is the closest to us, but after these purchase mishaps and ESPECIALLY the reception we received at customer service, we're going to stick it out and drive the extra 15 minutes to the "other" big box hardware store to pick up what our local suppliers don't carry.
