Great place for local farmers market items in the middle of the week. Bulk foods are reasonably priced. And they have Vermont made kefirs! Herbal tinctures. Fresh produce, kombucha on tap, sandwiches, huge teas selection, honey and organic agave syrup.It’s only $10 to be a member and you don’t need to be a member to shop there. $10 is a small price to pay to help keep local farms supported.Definitely worth the trip...

Clean and pleasant store staffed by pleasant folk. Nice selection of goods considering the relative smallness of the shop. Their bulk spices are of a noticeably higher quality than what is available at the bigger grocers in town and, often as not, more economical.

Great place to go for organic food and beverage. Plus they have vegan cookies which are pretty tasty. The only thing vegan I will ever eat. Great selection of juices. Herb selection extensive. Dry of course. The chocolate malted peanut butter balls decadent. The natural chocolate bars....80 to 85 percent chocolate... Are nice. Lemon covered almonds are delicious. There's something for everyone at the Rutland food coop. Worth the membership fee. Try it and you will agree.

Friendly folks, fairly broad vegan/specialty selection, and a big bulk section for the overall size of the business! Affordable membership cost, and easy specialty order process.. asked them to order in tofutti a few months back since no other store carried it locally, and they still have it on the shelves! I am comtented with our city's little co-op.

This is a great place. Staff very knowledgeable. Everything there is fresh. I buy my spices there as you measure out what you need. They have many bulk items. Their produce comes from local growers. It is nice to shop where things are fresh.

Small, which means slightly less variety than some of the larger Vermont co-ops, but still a great source of good, organic food and healthy alternatives you won't find even in the biggest supermarkets. Plenty of vegan options and a good bulk food section. Support your local coop!!

I love how well-stocked and clean this co-op is. Its cozy and they always have high quality goods. Also, the coffee is definitely worth the price! Their ready-to-eat selection is extensive.

After frequenting for nearly a decade I can attest to improvements in stock and service. Only place i have seen a soy free earth balance. Aqua vita stand is a treat, especially for summer. Checkout upgrades are a nice addition. Some refrigeration issues can be expected. Ask for more of an item and or larger sizes.

Scored organic avocados for $1 - can’t beat that... in the US. My farm eggs were tasty too. The staff are friendly hippies and serve with their hearts. It’s people like this who change the world with their daily actions and not just their thoughts and mouths. Totally in to it.

We desperately needed Chickpea Miso paste for our business and the Rutland Coop had two varieties available when no other local shop had any in stock. There seems to be a shortage at the moment. Gerry set some to the side for us and saved the day! In the past we've had a few issues with the Rutland Coop and started going elsewhere, however they seemed to have revamped the place and made quite a few changes. It truly means a lot to have recieved such help and customer service, seriously it means a lot. Thank you guys so much! We look forward to coming back to our local coop.

I feel I would be remiss if I did not share the effect my experience at the co-op had on me, a new resident of rutland who just happens to also be the direct descendant of the founding family of this town; James and Mercy Mead. I was treated with so much disrespect and contempt that it is making me not want to live in this town. I have alot of value to add to a community and because of the way I was treated, the community is going to lose out on my contribution. I say this with all humility, it's just factual. The cashier and manager of the coop spoke to me as if I was a criminal for attempting to return a product without the receipt. a product that was still unopened, a non perishable item that was clearly from the co-op. They treated me as an outsider, as someone they don't value even though I have been spending alot of money there in the 6 months I have been living here. They accused me of buying the item on Amazon and attempting to "rip them off" which is absurd bc everyone knows you can easily return items to Amazon so why would one even do that. A friend who has lived here for years was shocked when I told her what had happened. She said she once returned an avocado that was bad, no questions asked, no receipt required, no accusations or loud repetitions of "policy" no waving of signs in her face, no none of that. Just a cheerful, "go ahead and grab another!" And she told me she had carried that avocado around with her all day even to a hot yoga class. The cashier and the manager should be ashamed of themselves for the way they behaved. I even had proof of the purchase on my bank statement but then the manager told me that it was one day over their time limit and said I wasn't "nice" so no. I ask you, who among us would be "nice" to people who are accusing you of criminal activity when simply trying to return a product. Rutland Food Co-op you've lost a customer, but more so, you've caused a person to feel even more lonesome and homesick for my former community ; a community who knew how much I had contributed to the creative culture of the town. It's a sad day when a food co-op feels it necessary to enforce rules over being kind and just neighborly to a new member of the community. I won't be shopping there, I won't be joining as a member, I will be driving to Middlebury to shop and I'm currently looking to relocate. A natural food co-op can act as the center of a community. Indeed, the fact that there is one seemed a bonus to me when deciding to move to the town my great grandparents founded until I discovered the mean spirit of at least two of the people who work there.

Great market in downtown Rutland. The fresh veggies are amazing. Deliveries of fresh bread every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.I do all my food shopping here.

Denny's in Rutland has always been a favorite of mine always has great deal's and a come as you are attitude weather you want breakfast at 1pm or a burger for breakfast they are there to please most server's seem happy with their job and are pleasant to deal with.
