I love the grooming staff. Brady is the groomer I always have for my dog, Buddy. He does an amazing job and is so sweet with my buddy and very personable. The store is great as well just a little overpriced on a lot of items I feel. I'd give the grooming department 5 stars and the actual store 4 stars.

Be careful about who you ask to bag your crickets! Richard decided to put all my crickets in one bag when i asked if they could all be separated because i have multiple tanks that need different amounts crickets!

Lots of products for high prices. No one to help, aisles blocked with carts of stuff and manager was too busy to move them. I'm in a wheelchair. Best bet is to see what you want here, then go buy it at Amazon for half price.

Staff was helpful. I love being able to bring my dog in with me! We were traveling from New York to Maine with a new puppy and he was not doing well...car sick poor baby. We stopped at a Petco in Vermont they had some homeopathic digestive medicine it worked great the rest of the trip was smooth sailing!

Dirty! Most of the animals had days worth of poop in the cages/tanks. I tried to talk to an employee about it and they brushed it off. Very sad. This is not a good way for them to live let alone how to show people proper care. If they are understaffed they should get less animals.

The store is dirty and smells. The staff act like they hate it there. The bathrooms are absolutely awful. And when telling staff their response is “it’s not my job to clean them I don’t know who cleans them.” I’ve always shopped at petco for my pets but this Rutland location I will not return to. The dog collars are a mess and I can never find my dogs size. I’ve had to resort to Amazon. The store seriously needs an up grade.

Disappointed in the cleanness of the store. A lot of the food is expired my dog got a upset stomach took me 2 days to come to realize petco in Rutland sold me dog food that expired in 2022 nice lady at counter helped me find none expired food last night.

I needed dog food and senior cat food and turtle food. I'm so tired of trying to find a certain brand or certain type or size anywhere else. I spend a few more dollars here I am finding but I AM SO WORTH IT and so are my girls and so much less stress involved. When I go to Petco I'm pretty certain that they'll have what I need.. and they always do.

I brought my dog to pick out a treat( as we have done many times, she loves it) but twice now there is a male dog trainer there with the same dog and owner. The dog barks and the owner is yelling at and verbally degrading the dog with profanity, also this time flicked the dog on its head. This does not feel like the right way to train a dog and I am so glad I didn’t bring my dog there for training. That being said the man at the register was very nice and accommodating.

The customer service is good...the staff that works the front is always very pleasant and friendly. However as a tarantula mom, I always shutter when I see the poor tarantulas for sale in improper enclosures (an arborial in a terrestrial enclosure) and not labeled with proper names, just generic names like "pink toe" or "white knee". I just feel like if you're going to sell these animals you should at least have basic knowledge of care. Being able to explain care of particular animals ensures that anyone purchasing them will know a bit about how to successfully care for them when they take them home. It will also help you sell more products to whomever is purchasing these animals... it's truly a win, win, win situation.

I understand that rodents aren’t everyone’s favorite pet. However my experience buying two rats was horrible. None of the staff wanted to be the ones to put them in a box for us, it took 20 minutes before someone came. That person was terrified and grabbed them by the tail and flung them into the box after pinning them down with their food bowl, which was empty and the cage was disgusting. It’s been weeks now and our rats still do not trust us. We’ll be patient and kind with them unlike the staff there. It’s no wonder they don’t like humans. Very disappointing.

Was clean and animals very well attended to. Employees were helpful, passionate and very nice. The fish section guy was really into his position, I could tell🤣 as someone who worked in the pet industry for over a decade I could appreciate his engaging manner. The manager(?) lady was super nice and seemed happy. It’s so nice to not see miserable retail workers, which I get it when they are bc retail ain’t for the faint of heart😂 my little girl loves her betta! Great selection and clean water,they all looked healthy! If you HAVE to buy a pet bc u can’t find one to adopt, I recommend this location. Not all Petcos are created equal 😹

It's the only real pet supply store in our area, so we frequent this place a few times a week bc we have a dog, leopard gecko, & bearded dragon at home. And my fiance has 4 snakes at his father's... so we come here alot. Usually a pleasant experience. Only downside is that the staff is totally clueless and have very little knowledge about reptiles they sell. And that's where the 3 stars came from. Also there's one guy that works there that is flat out rude. . . It's as if everyone is a nuisance and he just can't be bothered by questions. So quality wise... the store gets a 5. But staff wise... a 2-3. Unfortunately we have no choice but to deal with it.. bc they're the only place around.

Walked in about half an hour to close knowing we wanted some guppies and couldn’t find any employees other than the cashier and dog trainer. We asked the cashier Dylan for some help in aquatics and he sent over the speaker that we needed some help. Obviously to us the dog trainer was busy and we saw no one else in the store. We waited a few minutes later and asked Dylan for help again. I told him I knew they were understaffed and I wasn’t sure anyone could actually help me. He said usually the don’t give live animals 20 minutes to close. I did not know this and told him I was sorry and that it was rough being short staffed. He sent over the speaker again for me and Matt the third and final employee showed up in the back for us. He was very polite and we apologized that we had come so late and didn’t realize they stopped giving animals before close and that we didn’t check their hours either. Matt was very helpful and made sure we didn’t need any information or further assistance with our tank. I’d like to say thank you to both Dylan and Matt for powering though on such a terrible situation with no help and a store full of customers right before close. I suggest a raise for the two of them. Thank you Matt and Dylan!

The thing about Petco is that they sell a one pound bag of peanuts for nine dollars! Really???For me, this pricing "policy" applies to all products... throughout the store... can't help but feel severely gouged!!!

This visit to Petco was better then past visits. I was able to get what I needed and wasn't pressured into buying stuff I didn't need. Noticed alot of prices have increased but that's happening in every store. They did have Timothy Hay for my Guinea pigs while other stores haven't had it in weeks.

This visit I was just shopping for the two Whole Hearted brand dry food that I feel my cats. Both varieties were in stock, so I was in and out of the shop very quickly. (I wish it were that way for the Flakes varieties for the same brand's wet food at that shop. With one of my cats being 17yrs and the other only 4, the Flakes variety is the only one that both cats can eat easily, and it can be very frustrating when the shop is consistently out of most of the flavors in the Flakes style.)

High prices, friendly staff, and not fully stocked. I went for some stuff for my snake and the shelves were messy, unorganized, and barely stocked. The cashier helped me carry my stuff out to my car and everyone I saw was very nice and helpful. There's no other place for the stuff they carry around here though so hopefully they'll get better with their inventory.
