This is the first hardware store to have greeting cards. I don't think that was a great move. Pretty sad, If I wanted greeting cards, I would go CVS, Walmart, and Walgreens. Not a hardware store.

Always great service here!I recommend going here, getting what you need, and getting out quick to get your project done. Do not go into home depot (aka "home cheapo") and get trapped shopping - you will end up buying junk you do not need and wasting time going up and down the aisles looking for what you actually needed (I can't even use phone data to find items with the app- no signal for me).No, ace does not have everything home depot has, but it has just enough and much better customer service as well. I recommend stopping here first, getting everything you need, and only going to the depot if ace doesn't have what you were looking for.

Love this place! Everyone is so helpful. The employees will bring you to the items you need and answer any and all questions you have. I wasn't sure which stain to purchase for my deck and Molly explained the difference between the various options and which would be best for my situation. Always so helpful and my go-to store for any home project needs.

As a frequent customer I noticed that the Rutland Ace Hardware is undergoing a renovation/reorganization; July/August 2022. Former employees not to be seen. New staff; although helpful seem to be a bit overwhelmed. A lone cashier was on the phone with a customer as I approached to cash out. Had to wait for about 5 minutes. Upon hangup another call came in and was passed off to another employee so the cashier could cash me out. My purchase today was just a can of acetone, which an employee help me locate quickly. Unique items, such as specific fasteners (nuts/bolts/screws); not so much. Curious as to what happened here. I understand a reorganization; although I am concerned about the former friendly employees.

Extremely satisfied! My mom ordered several cases of jars, and she was able to pay for them over the phone. They even held them so I could pick them up as I live down the road, and loaded them into my car! Excellent customer service, and definitely will be doing business with Noble Ace Hardware again!

These guys and gals really know their stuff, so if you have no clue how to tackle a problem they can talk you through it. And if you're a seasoned professional they'll be there to provide prompt, courteous service with an emphasis on the latest knowledge of products and techniques. This is a great hardware store. There is more of a neighborhood feeling here as opposed to the box stores. Very friendly staff, you are greeted coming in the door and a staff member will always ask if you need help locating something.

I was here yesterday to buy a plunger. I'm here today because a Google search told me they had glass prep bowls I was looking for. Amongst all the usual, paint, plumbing, salt, tools, and key machines I found center aisles just chocked full of cards and ornaments, and the toys and puzzles a plenty! Not a traditional hardware store. More of a miniature big box home store. They have all the common stuff, but not as many of those odds and ends that you would expect from a hardware store. Staff is extremely helpful though so they get marks for that!

I phoned Noble Ace hardware in Rutland,VT on June 29,2022 and spoke with Heather. I told her I was looking for oil based stain that we had purchased there 4 years earlier. I gave her the information from our remaining can. She informed me that the neutral base # has changed so we should bring our can with us so we could match it perfectly. I ordered it that same day as they only had 4 gallons. We drove 2+ hours to Rutland from New York. When we arrived on July 1st. Molly had us pick out a color from the chart so she could mix it for us. Never asking to open our can to match it. After the 4 gallons were finished she told us it wasn’t the same as we had it is an oil modified stain now. My husband asked is it water clean-up, she said yes and he said we could have purchased it 2 miles from our home in NY!As we drove home the 2+ hours we felt duped and worried that this stain would not cover/work on our decks that have the oil based. What bothers us the most is that we feel totally misled as I clearly stated on the phone what I wanted to purchase all she had to tell me was they don’t carry that anymore.Sam, the manager of the Rutland Ace, reached out to me and totally understood how our above dilemma occurred. She has instructed all inquiries about oil stain to state that it can no longer be purchased in Vermont. She offered us two ways to return our 4 gallons, neither of which requires a 2+ hour drive to Vermont.We will try what we purchased on our steps to see if it works over oil stain. If so we will keep what we purchased, if not we will return the other 3.Our rating, because of Sam’s customer service, went from 1 star to 4 stars!

i think we are lucky to have an ace like nobles as they have some of the most notable employees in Rutland. Not to slight any other great staff member but personally i have always relied on Bill Drinwater for the best possible person there, he knows it all and has worker there many decades and immeadiatley knows whats in stock and exactly where it is. Oh and it is a very well stocked store. Thank you Bill for many years of service to us.

They live up to their name. Go here when you need someone to help you find something. They know how to store your paints so you can just go back and get the same color for the rooms in your house. Home Depot can too, bit the employees don't want to learn show to do it.

Hands down the best hardware store I've ever been to. I live close and go here frequently. You are met at the door by a group of smiling employees. There's always one who is standing in the main aisle, and can direct you towards what you need. Often, if they are not overly busy, this person will come with me and find everything on my shopping list. They are knowledgable and very helpful. They also are very accommodating, once I bought a can of paint and hated it, took it back and the guy took time to figure out what other colors he could make from it, and we found a much better color! Would recommend this store to anyone.
