Great cafe spot in Rochester Vermont. Everything we had for breakfast was exceptional. I recommend the pancakes and the bacon is so nice and crispy but still soft. The muffins are freshly baked also. They have some good breakfast drinks too! Service was a little bit slow but I think they’re just busy and a little understaffed. The staff is super friendly though and veryaccommodating. Highly recommend if you’re in the Rochester area and wants some good breakfast !! They’re also serving pizza from Thursday to Saturdays that we are going to have to try. It looks delicious.

Had some time to waste and decided to try breakfast. I requested a custom burrito which was a Western Omelet - add bacon, home fries, and garlic aoli all in a tortilla wrap... It was amazing! They should add this to the menu and call it the Armored Supreme.Will definitely be back to get this again.

Cute breakfast place with one heck of a scenic view. Food was decent, but we waited for 20 minutes for a table outside in the cold (45 degrees) only to sit at that table for an extra hour and forty-five minutes before getting our food, even though we ordered immediately. What a joke. I felt completely disrespected as a customer. From what other patrons were saying, this seems to be a common issue here.My recommendation: If you cannot handle the amount of orders for the number of seats you have in your restaurant, DO NOT SEAT PEOPLE. At very least giving a heads up that the kitchen is slammed and getting food might take even longer once you're seated is expected.I will not be returning here anytime soon.

The Rochester Cafe is an amazing place to eat! It has a great breakfast and lunch menu with healthy and tasty items. The baked goods and desserts are delicious. The staff is fun and helpful; they make everyone feel at home. They also have gourmet coffees and a small gift shop with candies and candles among other things. I highly recommend timing your trip on route 100 so that you are hungry in Rochester, Vermont.

Being a group of 14 is never easy to manage for a restaurant at the peak hour.Well, the hostess and our waitress managed this with Brio. I never experiment such efficiency.Everything has been so well… very friendly… warm welcome… quick service… very good food (the best Philly Cheesesteak for a very long time). A little mistake with the salads that were corrected right away. Fries are very good as well (and I’m picky on this).I definitively recommend!

A buddy of mine and I were camping in the National forest nearby and decided we wanted to warm up and have an indoor breakfast. It was a good choice, I had Eggs Benedict and he had the Vermonter both were cooked to perfection and the service was great!

I’m pretty sure I’ve left a review some years ago, and I can’t imagine not having left 5 stars before. Solid food, well prepared with great ingredients served by friendly waitstaff at really very reasonably priced. Alas I left a jacket on the porch today, and didn’t realized until well after closing. A message was sent and don’t you know Stephanie called me within 10 minutes assuring me it was safely stowed away. It just seems everyone goes that extra step here with everything they do. Thanks!

The Cafe offers good eats. My companion had the Corned beef hash and eggs. I had the Vermonter's Ranchero, a Spanish eggs benedict...Nicely set up within a tiny very charming County Store.

I don't know that in the grand scheme of things, this is a 5-star breakfast stop. However, in Rochester, Vermont, it sure as hell is.Listen. It's breakfast. I think there are 2 things to keep in mind when you consider breakfast in a locale like this:1. Is it reasonably good?2. Is the service good?The answer to both of these was yes, and in fact the service was very good. The guy who waiter on us both days was great to talk to, and went with all our jokes. For sure an easy guy to like and we enjoyed the banter with him.The food was breakfast food. Not much to add there.Coffee was actually above average for a place like this.

I ordered breakfast sandwiches for my friend and me egg, ham & cheese for him and egg, bacon and cheese for me. We both thoroughly enjoyed them. They were ready when I got there and the staff were very friendly. We will order from there again!Update, 8/15/22: I called in an order for breakfast sandwiches today (on a MONDAY, a supposed off day!!), and they wouldn't take my order because there are too many in-house orders. Recommend hiring more kitchen help to avoid this in the future so locals can benefit from your great food all the time as well. We locals are just as important to your business, as well as non-locals. Thank you.Another update, 10/17/22: Now that leaf peeping season is over, I was planning to order breakfast sandwiches and home fries. I called at 8:15 and the recording stated you would open at 9. 9:00?? Really??? This is the SECOND time you have disappointed me. With those hours, and the fact that you probably don't offer take-out service on weekends, I don't know if I will ever be able to get breakfast at your Cafe. Thanks for dangling your delicious food in front of Mr and taking it away!!! Please make your hours more convenient for breakfast!!

I’ve been a loyal customer at the Rochester Cafe for years, and my family for decades, but we will be giving the cafe a pass in future. A manager was extremely rude to me. They made me cry, which has certainly never been my experience there before. I’m giving three stars rather than two or one, because the food was and has always been wonderful, and the staff was and has always been completely lovely and excellent. The truth is, I’m heartbroken. We’ve made a point of supporting the cafe as much as we can during the pandemic, and have been so relieved to see it survive. It’s been one of my happy places in a dark time. I truly care about it. That’s why I brought up a concern in the first place, a concern that I’m quite sure was never heard or understood. I was met with defensiveness, and eventually with contempt. I finally gave up trying to communicate, went out to my car, and burst into tears. I felt so unheard and dismissed, like my attempt at communication had been turned into an “I’m right” contest that the other person was determined to win. It hurts to be made into an enemy when you aren’t one! I hope the cafe will continue to succeed, but they have thoroughly lost this customer.

Solid 4.7, very nice place to stop if you're going tourist in Vermont and trying to stick to the two lane roads. Friendly service, very clean, lots to look at... servers were polite and professional. If it's nice the outdoor seating is the way to go. Would strongly recommend.

Do not miss this place. Beautiful old building with updates that preserve the appeal of a 150 year old building. Breakfasts are out of sight. They serve a really outstanding coffee called "Uncommon Coffee", roasted nearby in Essex, Vermont. Starbucks only wishes they had a coffee this good. They are open for lunch, but yours truly has only had breakfast. A lot of attention to detail goes into their food preparation, everything cooked fresh. If you're really hungry, get The Rochester, and I bet you don't finish it. Service is first rate, and the wait staff is very accommodating and FAST, so your meal comes out hot. Building is meticulously clean, and provides a very relaxing atmosphere. All of this is overseen by your very capable manager, Stephanie. Rochester is a small town, and if you blink your eyes, you'll miss it.

Me and my partner had the best coffee here. It was so good we turned up the next morning not realising they were closed that day and I can't possibly describe the sheer heartbreak we felt seeing the 'closed' sign.Go get the coffee. I love the coffee. Good coffee.
