My daughter and I spent a weekend at Red Acre Cottage. The cottage is so cozy. We loved the wood stove. We spent both nights cooking and were pleasantly surprised to find that the kitchen had anything that we could’ve needed. We didn’t remember to bring fun things to keep us entertained but happy to find so many books, games, puzzles, and movies. We played a board game and watched a movie both nights. The beds were very comfortable and clean. During the day we went into town and had breakfast at the Rochester Cafe and Country store. The food was very good and the dirty chai was one of the best I’ve had. Spending the weekend at this beautiful cottage in a stunning location allowed my young teen and myself to reconnect and spend some quality time together. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Will definitely return.

Sometimes you just need to get away for a while. Last summer we were feeling like that when I learned about Will’s new Vermont cottage. Our relaxing weekend stay was just what the doctor ordered. Plenty of rest and relaxation in the most sublime country setting. We found everything to be exactly as described. The cottage is homey, rustic but fully equipped with everything you need to rustle up a good country breakfast or supper. We loved walking the dirt road taking in The mountain views, sounds of songbirds the peace and quiet of the area. Everything was great and we can’t wait to go back again next summer.

I loved visiting Red Acre Cottage up in Rochester VT. The house was clean, comfortable, rustic, and relaxing. Will is an amazing host with laser focus on his guests. The dry wood was stacked right outside on the porch, the cabinets were well stocked with spices, various ingredients, as well as coffee and tea. Upstairs he has high quality and comfortable beds. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few hearty meals and the wood stove close by kept the -10F cold at bay. The artwork, furniture, and décor are all well thought out, you feel right at home the second you walk in the door. While the cabin isn’t right in a busy ski town, that’s probably what makes it so special. The cabin is close enough to Killington, Sugerbush, Mad River, and even Stowe, that there are plenty of riding options; it is secluded enough to enjoy the peaceful setting of rural VT. Next time I’m up there I’m looking forward to the hiking trails and back country riding options that are literally within walking distance of the front door. Thank you Will, I'm looking forward to my next visit!

My visit at Red Acre Cottage was outstanding. The cottage itself was neat and clean and as cute as a button which helped to make our stay feel relaxed and comfortable. We were able to just snuggle in immediately. Amenities, such as groceries, restaurants and daily necessities are close at hand. There is a wide array of things to do in the area and we availed ourselves of everything from hiking to antiquing. It was such a great experience that I'm considering purchasing a property in the area. I will be back.

Just wrapping up an epic mid-week getaway at Red Acre Cottage! If you've ever considered heading to VT for some #roadslikethese rides, this place is a perfect base camp, and you can easily get there from Boston without a car! Throw your bike in the belly of a Dartmouth Coach bus, take it to Lebanon where you can either ride to Rochester (@40 miles) or take the Amtrak Vermonter up to Randolph which will get you 25 miles closer. The house is charming and rustic, yet it has all the modern amenities you need. Head out the front door, either north or south on the famed North Hollow Rd and take your pick of dozens of hardpack dirt and gravel forest roads, or venture out to some well groomed and maintained singletrack routes if you have a mountain bike. Stop by the Ranger Station at the bottom of Quarry Hill Rd for maps and other ride ideas or stop by Green Mountain Bicycles on Rt 100 for expert advice on local ride options from shop owner, DooN Hinderyckx. Quintessential shops, country stores, restaurants, and sugar shacks await in nearby Rochester, Hancock, Granville, and Stockbridge.

We attended a wedding in the Rochester area with our friends and were so fortunate to find the Red Acre Cottage! It is a very cute comfortable clean home that has everything needed for a getaway. We ended up having rainy cool weather, but the warm space heater in the living room kept us nice and cozy. The area is beautiful and the small town has some restaurants worth trying for breakfast - Rochester Cafe and Sandy's Books and Bakery. We would highly recommend staying at #redacrecottage if planning a visit to the area!

Our family of 4 (2 kids, age 9 and 11) had an absolute blast in the Rochester region this summer! It helped that the weather was great but what really made our time special was that we felt so "at home" at Red Acre Cottage. The house is attractive inside and out, is well-appointed, and the layout is very comfortable. Some highlights of our time included: swimming at the gorge in Warren, hikes and walks in the region, picking and gorging ourselves on blueberries at the U-pick farm down the hill from the house, and enjoying treats at Sandy's Bookstore and Cafe in the center. We will be back!

Red Acre Cottage is a beautiful little house in an ideal location. It's situated in a hollow between mountains and the views are gorgeous, whether you're walking down the nearby dirt roads or driving on your way to local attractions. The cottage itself was very cozy on our chilly, early spring weekend. Will has decorated with a lovely combination of antiques and more contemporary pieces that give the place a warm feel. There's hardly any passing traffic, so you can enjoy the quiet of the surroundings. There are loads of hikes nearby and we spent a wonderful morning following a river through the woods. I can't wait to return in the summer to try out the local swimming holes and sit out on the big porch overlooking the nearby fields and mountains.

This is a VERY nice place to stay. Well cared for, very clean and very thoughtful in terms of decoration, has character, but not too much character. They have a kitchen that is well stocked with cookware and essentials. The wood stove used for heating is very efficient and adds to the great ambience. Good location, close enough to the downtown, which seems to have some interesting things happening even though I had not spent any time there. It’s very quiet and a beautiful location there is a nice 2.5 mile snowshoeing trail just down the street and they had snowshoes that we could borrow. I would definitely stay there again.

I can't tell you how perfect this place is. It's decorated and stocked to be welcoming and cozy. It's quiet and remote but at the same time a pretty quick drive away from good food, hiking, antiquing, etc. It was great in the late-winter/early-spring, and we can't wait to go back to enjoy the high summer and then the beautiful Vermont fall. We're so thrilled to know the cottage is there when we need another getaway.

Fantastic house. Stayed here with our two kids for nearly a week and had a wonderful time. So mellow, well appointed, comfortable! Tasteful decoration, lovely yard, idyllic setting. We cooked dinner nearly every night and had all the equipment we needed for elaborate meals--pots, pans, knives, trays, tongs, spices--which was a real pleasure. I brought a few books but ended up reading one off of the shelf and played the house copy of Stratego with my son, after which we pulled a DVD off the shelf and watched it. Seriously, this place is so well stocked. I saw a croquet set in the closet but we didn't get to use it because we spent most days exploring the area. Rochester Center is small but has a decent supermarket (with local grass-fed beef), a great cafe/bookstore, and bike rentals. PYO berry farm at the bottom of the hill. Warren Falls, a few miles north on VT 100, has got to be one of the world's most amazing swimming holes, and Warren Center itself is like a Brigadoon where Lawson's Finest Liquids makes a special delivery to the Warren General Store on Thursday mornings. Really lovely and quiet area; my wife and I went for a walk on the local roads each morning and had a wonderful time. Can't wait to go back and explore this area in the winter. Highly recommended!

The perfect getaway - peaceful, friendly people and beautiful mountains surround you. The hosts - Will and Emily have every detail ready when you arrive. The cottage is roomy and quaint with a full kitchen, 2 baths, laundry facilities, complete with rockers on the front porch. The close by town is minutes away but a step back in time. It offers everything from groceries, restaurants to a special shop with trout on homemade bagels and the best coffee that you must try! There is so much to do in the surrounding area or not do if you choose. I didn't want to leave - so I'm planning my next trip back. Thanks Will & Emily for sharing your piece of heaven.

Red Acre Cottage was the perfect home base for a few days of snowshoeing, skiing, and exploring the area. The house itself felt modern despite its history, and the wood stove kept it toasty even in sub zero temps. Can’t wait for another visit.

Williams’s cottage was exactly as advertised, yet exceeded our expectations. The cottage was cute, clean and in a gorgeous setting - great mtn biking and swimming holes within a couple of miles. William was available and full of great suggestions for outings. Also, we appreciated the kids books and games. We’ll be back!

This is the ideal place for anyone that loves to get outside, with access to backcountry skiing glades from your front door, plenty of forest to explore on snowshoes, and, of course, a cozy wood stove to warm up!

Meticulously maintained, beautiful location, thoughtful, artistic. You could not ask for a friendlier or more helpful host in William. He was responsive and patiently answered all of my questions. He provided tailored information to my lifestyle and the experience I was seeking during my stay. I will definitely be back and bring the whole family. Thanks William!
