My last visit I felt quite pressured to do blood work that the vet admitted would likely show no problems, but insisted we should have a baseline as my dog is over 12 y/o. I felt like I was being shamed for not “meeting the standard of care” that the vet thought I should be meeting for my dog. I’ve been taking my animals there for years, but this made me question my future veterinary needs

My 14 yr old dog had severe periodontal disease and needed 18 teeth extracted. Dr Hament did an excellent job. He showed me the films of her teeth and explained everything to me what he did. My dog has more energy and can tell she feels much better. Thanks to all.

They take good care of our small dog, and are very flexible with scheduling. The staff is pleasant and courteous to human and canine alike!

If I could give a 0 I would the Dr. That put down my baby boy Buki broke my heart. She promised a great paw print for me so I could get a tattoo to keep him with me everyday of my life till I die. I trusted these people to do good by me my mom and my baby boy. They crushed me. I will never have them help when the time comes where a pet is sick and can't move on. We walked in with him and the vibe felt very cold. They said sorry and pretended to feel for us but it was clearly all a show. If I would have know the lack of care I would have done my own prints. I'm super heart broken and dissaointed with their services.

Easy to get an appointment. Different vets have different specialities. They gave calming hormone sprays on kerchiefs to help animals cope with the stress of visits. I've been coming here for nearly 30 years. I really appreciate Dr. Dan's bedside manner with the dogs. I have always had good service here, and compassion when the end of life comes. Have been through 5 dogs so far. I've generally had very good luck with the staff, too.. Some very compassionate folks especially when times were tough.

I have always been happy with the care and service my pets have received at RAH. I have been taking my pets there since 2001, and continued when I moved to a neighboring town. The staff are very caring, helpful, and knowledgeable. Pricing is also reasonable.

Tremendously helpful and compassionate staff. Our older dog suddenly got *very* sick last week, and they managed to squeeze us in *and* counsel two very concerned dog parents. Our dog also required some at-home nursing care, and the docs and techs taught us how to syringe food and administer subcutaneous fluids for a very dehydrated, uncomfortable pup. She's perky and running to the treat jar today thanks to RAH, and we could not be more grateful. Thanks, y'all.

For the most part I am happy with the care we have received here. I just feel that sometimes it's a little inconsistent. I find all the supporting staff to be very caring, but when it comes to vets, we have had some really good care there, but then we've had a lot of care that doesn't seem to take our cats sensitivity issues into account. I can't help but feel like they are often following a protocol or just trying to charge us for an appointment.We consistently have to remind everyone there of our cats sensitivity issues, when I would think there would be some place in there computer system, where allergies would be in big bold letters, like any other doctor! And recently we had an emergency with our cat having struvite crystal blockage, and had seen them, then we're hospitalized at BEV'S because Richmond did not have the ability to keep our cat monitored over night. TOTALLY fine that they don't have that ability, but by the end, we paid for two HUGE vet bills, when we could have had just had one at BEV's. However, the tests they ran while he was there did tell us more about his issues that we had previously ever known. But then about 7 days later, he was showing massive improvement on a list of about 10 symptoms to look out for, and had one time he took him a little longer to pee than it had been, which was less than 24hrs of finishing his medication to relax his urethra! Seemed obvious to me that he clearly needed to be on the medication for longer! They insisted on seeing him again! I appreciate wanting to make sure he's okay, but with this specific issue, there is VERY little they can do if the crystals are still there, and it's a urine analysis that will show that (which we offered to get in to them asap). Short of continuing the medication and having him on prescription diet, which we had been doing, there's nothing else to do! Also, stress makes the entire issue significantly worse, and he uncontrollably vomits/dry heaves after about 1/4 of a mile in the car (about a 7mile drive for us)! So putting him through that, for them to say, "yep, he's making good progress but probably needs this med longer" just seems like ridiculous advice to me. Thankfully we were able to be advised by our home visiting vet, Kerry, who thought exactly the same, "obviously he needs the med a little longer."Not to mention, we had seen them previously about 3xs, for our cat having really bad itchy ears! No mites, no infection. He also was showing itchy spots all over his body on a couple of those visits! They we're essentially entirely unhelpful, and tried to convince us it was his broken tooth in front, and we should come in for $800 worth of dental work, for a tooth that showed no signs of decay or issue! Which mind you, this would maybe make a little sense if it was only 1 ear, but it is both ears! It wasn't until we talked with Pet Food Warehouse about it, that we figured out it was likely his food! We had thought flea allergy, because we had found a couple on him, but he had been flea free for a couple months. Long story short, he is allergic to tuna, chicken, and turkey!! And his ears are worse in summer, probably due to environmental allergies! Anyway, beyond frustrating that they never suggested that, or had us look into him potentially having allergies!In summary, it's hard to find a vet that balances between really caring for your cats needs, and not just signing you up for costly things that are unnecessary. But bottom line, after these experiences, I do not trust this vet to have that balance!

Great with all my dogs!! can tell they love and care for animals and not just in it for $$$..I drive an hour where they are located and 2 hours from work..(use to live close by) because I like the way they treat my dogs...highly recommend!!

I assisted my friend in taking her dog to this facility. Incredibly caring and helpful vet techs, wonderful vet. And just overall very good experience! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone that's looking for a new vet or a vet in general.

Our Jax saw Dr. Hament and I am always amazed at how caring he (and his staff) are with our pet. He took his time and really evaluated Jax before he treated his condition. Thank you Dr. Hament & Staff!!!

We recently had our 7 month old male Dachshund neutered and must commend Richmond Anima lHospital for their gentle thoughtful care. Dr. Hament's surgery was very impressive. There is no scar and the wound healed very quickly. Highly recommend this practice.

I am forever grateful to - The amazing Vet's and Tech's who took such amazing care of my cat ,Tigger. Through the process of tests and surgery to remove a huge tumor. They loaned me a cat carrier, which was so helpful, and helped ease my stress through a difficult time! I would recommend them to anyone looking for great professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable Veterinarians.

SCAM ARTIST ALERT! First appointment pricing and services were very clear. Was scheduled for a “distemper booster” at that time which I was told would be $30 per cat. They charged me for two exam fees plus $30 per cat. I paid $194 for 15 minutes of them petting the kittens and two shots. PLEASE BEWARE! I will not be scammed by these people again, absolute robbery.
