This store is a great resource for many local people as well as those who pass through our town from surrounding areas and States for we boarder both NY, and MA. The store is clean ,friendly and organized far more the others that I have been in . It's a little congested right now with all the new adjustments and expansion in inventory, but I'm confident they will get it into shape . The only complaint I have is that I wish the merchandise was not from China but rather from our country where jobs are needed as well as business to keep our Nation growing . We give other countries to much of the business, And not enough to our own country that is struggling to stay afloat.

Well closed again with no sign and why ? They were there and wouldn't answer. Nice having the store if they're open more then closed.

Dollar general is a great place for single mothers like myself they have a dollar aisle where I can buy gain and Tide laundry detergent I can buy Dawn dish soap I can buy garbage bags all name brand all for $1 I also find cute outfits for my six-year-old daughter along with many toys that are in my price range very happy to have Dollar generals in my town

A great addition to the town of Pownal. Has just about everything you need at good prices. Before this came to town we would have to drive a half hour to another big store. They sell beer and wine along with cigarettes.

I don't know how pricing is in Vermont in general but I'm from Florida and this was the most expensive Dollar General I've ever been in. Also the one and only lady working in the store wasn't too concerned about us standing at the register waiting for her boss you continue to put other items away on the shelves.

The women did not have a name tag at all.When I was in line she asked my husband if wanted to pay for what he put in his pocket when I was cashing out. I am married to honest abe and took great offense. I emptied out his pockets in front of her. Then asked her what she was accusing him of stealing. She just muttered “ she thought he had taken something”. So rude. This happened today. Who knew 30~somethings would be accused from stealing at a already cheap store.

Maybe the shelves are little cluttered sometimes, but the staff is super friendly and helpful. Great for those quick things to save you a trip to town.

Small enough to run in and grab what you need but enough variety to actually shop there as well. I'm a very avid fan of their clearance aisle.
