I've had nothing but good experiences with this practice so far. Everyone has been helpful and compassionate, and very quick with getting records needed for my pet insurance claim. Dr. Johnson was very thorough with my dogs and gave some good, sound advice as well. I also like the convenience of having all of the vaccination records easy to see in the app. I've only been to the office once but so far, everything has been great!

Appointments are easy to make; even emergencies (during business hours). I know the Dr's listen to my concerns are are talking me through "next steps" for the best course of action for my furries.I appreciated that Kylee was seen quickly and had a plan in place to get her better from the UTI she was suffering from. Both Dr. Johnson and Cindy care about Kylee and doing the best for her. And the plan is working... she is getting better. Thank you!

The Staff and Vet here are wonderful souls! They are life savors and I appreciate how much they cared for my furbaby in her biggest hour of need. This experience has proven to me that their are still genuine people out there who took their job for it’s purpose and not solely for its profits! my cats tooth had broken off and i was told i needed to get it removed asap. the payment options were more expensive then I could cover and upon getting a second opinion I was told that the procedure did not need to happen immediately. the lady who helped me was also rude to my cat claiming it was aggressive because she is orange, when it did not show signs of aggression throughout the visit. regardless of if my cats tooth needs to be removed or not i will not be returning because when I left feedback about the lack of communication and options along with how I didn't like the way she talked about my cat (after they had emailed asking for it) I was soon CALLED by who i assume was the vet and it thew me off as her tone seemed rude. I felt like calling was unprofessional and hostle to make a sudden phone call to dispute my feedback. The whole experience left me feeling uncomfortable and I will not be going back. What they said made sense and I will most likely get her tooth removed soon, just not by poultney vet.

EXTREMELY RUDE!!!! I'm looking for help with a kitten and they refuse to let people call in and make donations! They're refusing medical care and going to letting cat die because they don't want to answer the phone. Lazy and disgusting!!! And after using a nasty tone with me she had the audacity to tell me she wasn't being rude. I honestly hope this place gets shut down. It's worse than granville

My mom has brought one of our pets here to be fixed, usually ALWAYS very nice and friendly people whoever the receptionist was that picked up when my mother Thursday right before they closed called frantic cause our oldest dog basically went limp my mom was attempting to do CPR the person on the phone was nothing but heartless to my mother who was clearly upset that our dog had passed away didn't bother to even APPOLOGIZE for our loss or even have a care that our animal was passing. Stated they were closing best bet was to bring her an HOUR AWAY! basically told my mom it was 100$ to not get her ashes back or over 400$ for them back!! I'm not only upset for my mother but how someone could just be so cold hearted is not okay in my books! Won't be returning that's for sure!

Since I'd moved to Rutland County with my previous two dogs a few years ago I hadn't been able to find a vet that took the time to listen and do the thorough job that I was used to with my prior provider. I have a new dog now, and I feel I've finally found the place to go. Poultney VH is the fourth that I've been to in the area and I feel confident that they're going to listen, diagnose, and get the best possible result for my dog without just rushing me out the door to get to their next client. Very glad I've started going there.

We are occasional visitors to the area, and on this trip our dog developed an allergic reaction to an insect bite. The first practice recommended to us did not have any available appointments. With our anxiety increasing along with the swelling around our dog's eye, we found Poultney Veterinary Hospital. The receptionist understood our concern. She was very reassuring and scheduled an appointment for that very morning. When we met Dr. Julia, we were so impressed on how she managed the exam. Our dog is notorious back home for the way he behaves at the vet. Dr. Julia had a magical ability to calm him, and the exam went smoothly. The problem was quickly diagnosed and medicine dispensed. Within hours we noticed improvement. Such a relief to know there is such a skilled vet here!

2017: The vet was great with my dog. Gave me a much needed training session no charge. Definitely returning.2023: I have a new puppy that I have brought to this vet also, 5 years after my initial review. They are just as wonderful and helpful. They even recommended a wonderful prebiotic that I picked up there that has helped with firming up my puppies stools. They go above and beyond!

Dr. Chant and the rest of the staff were caring and compassionate with both of my dogs who were neutered. They also made this fur mom feel at ease by calling to inform me of the surgeries as well as calling the next day to check on the boys.

A+I Have been going here since it was Dr. Scott who treated my animals and me amazingly. Recently had the unfortunate experience of bringing my 18 year old cat (who was brought here her whole life) to be put down here. As far as that experience can go the staff was amazing, very supportive, compassionate and really went the next extra mile with a very sweet sympathy card in the mail the following week. Fantastic and knowledgeable staff.

They were great with my pets. Also made sure they had everything they needed before we left. There was nothing that could have made the visit better. Aries is a difficult to handle Akita Inu and yet, you were patient with him and did a fantastic job with him.
