Went in and walked out with my cat the same day. The staff was super nice and made the process easy. I’m so lucky to have gotten the sweetest kitty from here!

Need help fostering my dogs, I do NOT want to get rid of them, but my landlord is making my living situation dangerous for my dogs. In order to get them to take my dogs, I have to surrender them and then I don't have the ability to get them back because I've surrendered them and they're unwilling to get the proper license in order to board dogs. Great to see you're doing all you can for the community!

They have VERY strict rules for adopting animals. Call ahead and make sure you qualify before driving out there. Lesson learned the hard way!

All of the animals awaiting adoption looked to be very well cared for. We brought this little guy home. He is a real joy.

The worst place to adopt a pet. They discriminate people horribly. Will never adopt from them. The dogs are left in a tiny room with nothing. The amount of disrespect and discrimination is unreal!

What a wonderful place! I just got a dog there, and wow - what a wonderful dog! Like any rescued dog, he needs lots of love and attention and training. But who cares! He is healthy and happy, and I am happy I can give him a better life! The staff was friendly and helpful, and most importantly, the adoption process was totally hassle-free.This humane society offers extremely low-cost adoptions. I paid $199 because he was a "senior" (age six). The $199 covered all his shots and he came nutered. Additionally, that cost must go towards overhead and administrative costs of boarding him for two months. I think such adoption costs are very reasonable.Thank you for taking care of my Bobo until he found his forever-people!

We just wanted to express our appreciation and gratitude to the RCHS and the staff there! We recently adopted "Fio" and could not be happier with him! He is part of us already, he is the meaning of gentle giant, he has playful loving personality and has brought to us pure joy and laughter in the little time we have had him. He is the center of our lives and we cherish him! Thank you so much!! Scott & Melissa brooks

The staff is incredibly nice, and very helpful. The adoption process was quick and easy, the prices are super reasonable and they send super helpful paperwork home with you! This was the first shelter out of around 20 i applied to that got back the same day i applied and set me up an appointment. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to adopt!

Two weeks ago, my 91 year old mother adopted a cat. She was told the cat saw a vet and was healthy. When she got home, she looks at the folder they gave her and it says the cat has a respiratory illness causing sneezing, runny nose, poor appetite, etc. They never divulged this to her prior to adoption. The cat got sicker in the next 2 weeks, not eating and not voiding. My mom lives on social security, and she had to take the cat to the vet, and $960 dollars later, she learned the cat has a severe UTI, is severely malnourished (they said she weighed 8 pounds, but vet said 5 pounds), she is dehydrated and has serious dental decay. How can a humane society be so inhumane, not treating this poor cat, and allowing it to starve, and not divulging the cats true condition prior to adoption. Buyers beware! I will never adopt from them again.

We went in and found a pup we just adored they told us that she had to be fostered first do to an injury. We filled out paperwork to become her fosters. Said they would be in touch, we go back in a few days later to visit the pup and see what was going on with her and they tell us she has been adopted. We got no phone call no anything. Highly unprofessional. They also told us to fill out an application incase it didnt work out with the other people. Which we had already done with the thought she would be coming to our home. Will be looking else where from now on.

We got a kitten from the Humane Society that didn't end up working out with our family. We brought him back a few months after we took him home and were not made to feel guilty or ashamed. On the contrary, we were told that we did the right thing and were thanked for bringing him back. Friendly staff, clean facility and they're doing a job that is desperately needed.

I adopted my dog from here in October of 2011. The staff was very helpful and made sure I felt no pressure. They let me take my time over the course of several visits. My pup was well cared for during his time there as were all the animals. All around positive experience.

We arrived to RCHS thinking that we were going to visit another humane society after, but it ended up being our one stop for the day. After meeting the dogs they had available, taking one out for a walk who wouldn't have worked for our situation we finally met our new Pup! Her name is Ida, she is the sweetest girl. The animals here are waiting like many others to find their furrever home. A place to be safe, happy, and healthy. If I could adopt them all I would!!!The staff at RCHS is very kind, thoughtful, and understanding. The animals waiting to be adopted there looked well kept, were not cramped, and seemed very healthy. The cats were so cute, I love cats and wanted to take them all home...The adoption process takes an hour or two, depending on how busy they are the day you go in. My advice is to arrive as they are opening, since that will give you the most time to spend with a potential new furrfriend. There's a room where the cats are kept, you can go in and socialize with them. The dogs have their own separate area, and are eager to meet you. You will fill out an application, of which you must specify if you rent or own. If you do rent, they will contact your landlord, often times on the spot. So it is best to have contacted your landlord FIRST, to give them a heads' up that RCHS will be attempting to speak with them. They must verify that you have permission to own a dog or cat in their rental property. All the animals have been spayed/neutured, unless specified otherwise. They will come UTD on shots and vaccinations. Just so folks know too, the cost is $300 for puppy adoption, $200 for adult and somewhere around $125 I think for senior dogs. The cats are less. They also had some small animals when we were there, some guinea pigs and the like.If your app is approved, you can leave with your new pet that day. We were in at 12:30 and out by 2:20. All in a perfect paw day!I wanted to say thank you to the RCHS and their excellent staff.

This humane society branch is EXACTLY that...HUMANE!! THIS IS NOT A KILL SHELTER! The animals are very well taken care of here until their new and forever home comes along!! They are now hauling dogs from the South up here to help the situation down there! Excellent!!

We adopted a very sweet puppy on 3/11/17. The unfortunate thing is our puppy was NOT a healthy puppy. One would think adopting from a Humane Society that we would be getting a healthy puppy.. NOT the case. Our puppy has had 2 different parasites and has cost us hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to treat her. She has exposed our other dog to these parasites. Be ware when adopting from the Humane Society, you think you are adopting a healthy pet when in fact you are not, at least in our case, she was 1 of 7 puppies from the same liter.
